I just keep thinking that Andy Greene is everything I thought Martin would be: a Niedermayer clone with Niedermayer poise and composure who just doesn't have the same world-class speed of Scott. Since he has registered a 97mph shot, I think he's going to be the big-shot dman we've needed since Scott left. On defense, he's been truly superb making great play after great play and not being afraid to delve into the physical sway of things. So what's his upside? He has already bypassed Oduya and Lukowich on the depth charts imo making him at the least our no. 4 already as a rookie.

I dunno about passing Lukowich. But let's give it a while... how many rookie D-men have we had where we thought of them as the next Stevens or Nieds, then end up being dissapointed?
I'm more interested in his sophomore season.

He is been exceptional thus far. Huge Blocks and shoots the puck, demonstrated a presence on the PP 2nd unit.
It is to early to rank him as to what level he will be on and who he can be compared to.
But he does have an upside and has leadership ability as he was the captain of Miami Oh. and has also adjusted to the speed of the NHL.

Right now Greene is playing like a # 2/3 defenseman, which is what we hoped Paul Martin would become, his decision-making is much more reliable at this point than Martin's has ever been. But as others have expressed, he needs to prove he can do it over the long haul. Fantastic first 30 games to his NHL career though.

Campbell is the first guy that popped into my mind.

at LEAST 3, maybe a 2 with adequate time.
He also seems to be taking the body more now.
