The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Game 5, NJD 3 v. TBL 0 ‎

The Good:
-Brodeur. Simply awesome.
-Overall defensive play. Turned a few pucks over but where fantastic in deflecting passes and blocking shots. Matvichuk especially.
-Control. The Devils were in the drivers seat for the entire game.

The Bad:
-Really nothing. Maybe you'd want them to bury a few of the breakaway chances and convert a couple PP's, but that's about it.

The Ugly:
-John Tortorella's antics. :biglaugh:

The good:

-Marty. enough said.
-Matvichuk. dude has played awesome, plain and simple. he has 12 blocked shots in 3 games and led us in ice time tonight. dude is a warrior
-EGG line. i thought they played nicely tonight

The bad:

-our PP. it was looking good early on in this series, but it was basically atrocious tonight
-we have to get more shots on net somehow. 14 a night is not going to get it done on a consistent basis
-oduya looked like he couldve been colin white jr at times (wandering too far out of position in the defensive end), but i think hes gotten better as the series has progressed

The ugly:

-Langenbrunner getting his ass beat. that was baddddd
-the whole tororella/maclean situation. tortorella sends out his goons with under 3 minutes to play and gets mad at one of OUR coaches? please.
-zach's skate breaking in the first period and him hopping to the bench haha classic

The Good:
- Winning and going up 3-2 after being down 2-1
- Marty found himself

The Bad:
- Whitey not back
- Elias can't hit an open net 1-timer

The Ugly:
- Langenbrunner's kidneys

The Good: Marty, Matvicuck and Greene

The Bad: We need to bury some goals on those breakaways on odd-man rushes.

The Ugly: Someone should have called out a Tampa player after the Langenbrunner incident.

The Ugly: Tortorella's lack of professionalism and Janssen not being dressed to take on the TB scraps in the end

Bad - Parise skate manufacturer, I thought he broke his ankle I almost had a heart attack.

Ugly - Tortilla dressing fedotenko and not playing him one shift. How to motivate you moron.

-I think a really underrated good thing last night was the play of madden pando and brylin against lecavilier and st. louis last night....they did a good job of not letting their stars get into their rhythem last night

Bad- Not much, maybe those odd man rushes

Ugly- Someone has to stick up for langs at the end of the game.

And Langs is going to piss blood for a week... Never seen anyone take that many kidney shots and not turtle. Jamie's either a stud or a lunatic.

Langs couldn't get his hands free, and Pyatt went for the kidney in the fight, thats a ***** move.

The good:
-Brodeur was strong the entire game, gave up no easy goals, made outstanding saves, got the shutout.
-Richard Matvichuk and the rest of the defense got 20 blocked shots, and a few of them saved the Devils and Brodeur from goals from TB.
-Andy Greene got a goal, nice work.
-Mike Rupp owned Roy.
-EGG line was flying all night
-Smart hockey throughout the entire game.

The bad:
-14 shots on goal. Although they were all good shots and we outplayed Tampa for the most part, 14 is still a little low, IMO.
-Missed opportunities. Happen every game but you have to learn ti finish sooner or later.

The Ugly:
-Tampa going after Langenbrunner. Classless move by Tortorella and good thing Lou and John showed him whats up.

The Good:
-Marty with the big shotout.
-EGG line working and getting rewarded.
-Rupp sticking up for Greene and re-arranging Roy's face.
-Speaking of Greene, he played excellent and a huge goal.
-Oduya starting to be the player he was before Christmas.
-Matvichuk saving a tap-in with a great defensive play.
-Keeping Vinny OFF the score sheet.

The Bad:
-Two shorthanded odd-man rushes.
-When Dan Boyle kicked it up, we had a tough time controlling him.
-We had several chances to put this away in the second period and failed.

The Ugly:
-Torterella just OWNED Brooks in the post game interview. Lack of class and respect by both men.
-Langenbrunner needs to take some kickboxing lessons. Punch him, Jaime!
-Absolutely NO need to throw out your fighters and try to provoke the other team. Stupid and childish. Torts is a good coach and should hold himself to a higher standard than putting a hit out on Andy Greene.

The egg line were great in game5 but Gionta could still elevates his game, he just seems lost so often
