i hope to god he plays for Rupp tonight
Clarkson called up!Colin Whites Eye 04-20-2007, 01:31 PM i hope to god he plays for Rupp tonight M-B-30 04-20-2007, 01:32 PM hopefully Rupp and Rassy out..and Janssen and Clarkson in.. Brooklyndevil 04-20-2007, 01:37 PM What took so long. Definitely play the kid even on the 4th line just as long as we use him on PP. Good news. And as carzy as I might sound, I wish they would have brought up Pelley and play him with Madden and Pando. 3 line: Pando-Madden-Pelly (Pelly brings speed and plays with some grit and is stronger than Sarge along the wall.) 4 line: Rass-Brylin-Clarkson. (You can actually play these guys for more than 10 minutes and just might get some offense.) DevilsFan38 04-20-2007, 01:39 PM Sweet, I've been waiting for this. I wonder if he'll play tonight? You hate to mess with the lineup coming off a win. DevilBesideYou 04-20-2007, 01:45 PM Awesome. I was wondering when he'd get the call. I hope he plays tonight. Jersey Fresh 04-20-2007, 01:46 PM I say he plays tops 3 minutes. If Lou won't play Rasmussen or Down the way they've been playing (especially Rasmussen), then he won't play Clarkson either. He deserves more though. Darius Dangleaitis 04-20-2007, 01:49 PM Rasmussen or Dowd should sit, preferably Dowd. Lou's Koolaid 04-20-2007, 01:49 PM i hope to god he plays for Rupp tonight:bow: I hope he can help us like the kid Callahan has done for the Rags. Classic Devil 04-20-2007, 01:49 PM Dowd is not sitting. crashlanding 04-20-2007, 01:52 PM Dowd is not sitting, he plays the PK. Rasmussen is not sitting, he plays on the checking line after our PP expires. Rupp would be the odd man out. DevilsFan38 04-20-2007, 01:54 PM I'm trying to find an article that someone posted on these forums awhile back (a month or two ago?) about Clarkson, talking about how he was a big pest on the ice but a really nice guy off it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? (And can help me find it?) Classic Devil 04-20-2007, 01:57 PM I'm trying to find an article that someone posted on these forums awhile back (a month or two ago?) about Clarkson, talking about how he was a big pest on the ice but a really nice guy off it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? (And can help me find it?) It's probably from when we won that award for biggest charitable contributions. I don't remember the article itself, though. I'd love to see Clarkson get a chance. He and Pelley are going to be the new Holik and McKay if we give them a chance to develop. Colin Whites Eye 04-20-2007, 02:00 PM yeah its probably about 99% that if clarkson plays, rupp isnt playing DevilsFan38 04-20-2007, 02:07 PM It's probably from when we won that award for biggest charitable contributions. I don't remember the article itself, though. I'd love to see Clarkson get a chance. He and Pelley are going to be the new Holik and McKay if we give them a chance to develop. Well, I think I found it, but it's in the Lowell Sun archives and I'm not paying money to read it again. Babachka 04-20-2007, 02:12 PM help me out here, where did you see the call up listed? thanks slackerracker 04-20-2007, 02:14 PM well this is good hopefully he plays tonight and makes a difference! crashlanding 04-20-2007, 02:20 PM http://www.newjerseydevils.com/njd/theteam/roster.php Malouds 04-20-2007, 02:23 PM What took so long. (You can actually play these guys for more than 10 minutes and just might get some offense.) Calling Pelley up would actually be a good idea. Especially if Tortorella switches the lines up and has St. Louis and Lecavalier on separate lines. That way we can have different checking lines and Madden and Pandolfo wouldn't be as tired. TaiMaiShu 04-20-2007, 02:36 PM Man do we underuse Dowd. MoonDragn 04-20-2007, 02:41 PM Man do we underuse Dowd. Yeah dunno why. He is awesome everytime he comes up. Last time he almost made a goal. DevilBesideYou 04-20-2007, 03:12 PM Well, I think I found it, but it's in the Lowell Sun archives and I'm not paying money to read it again. Would it be "Tough guy, nice guy Clarkson leads Devils in penalty minutes, hospital visits" by any chance? Good article, too bad I'm not supposed to post the full text here... PuckStopsHere02 04-20-2007, 03:18 PM I'm still waiting for Jason Wiemer. :biglaugh: :biglaugh: MartyOwns 04-20-2007, 03:21 PM some great news, i loved the way he handled himself during the season..this could make all the difference DevilFisch 04-20-2007, 03:22 PM I am very pleased by this turn of events. Very, very pleased. A power forward type player for NJ would be a big boon on offense and Clarkson can be that guy. GO DEVILS. jkrdevil 04-20-2007, 03:22 PM Don't the Devils usually call up a bunch of minor leaguers come playoff time so they can be around the team and get a feel for the playoff experience? This doesn't mean he is playing. DevilDog 04-20-2007, 03:27 PM It's about time, throw him out there with the 4th liners for a few minutes, he might surprise us (again). Systemfel 04-20-2007, 03:30 PM Clarkson - Dowd - Janssen! crashlanding 04-20-2007, 04:05 PM Don't the Devils usually call up a bunch of minor leaguers come playoff time so they can be around the team and get a feel for the playoff experience? I remember when he was sent down (for cap purposes in addition to the fact that the whole team was healthy) Lou said something like "he'll be back up here before you know it." Buya89 04-20-2007, 04:22 PM btw where is jason weimer? and I too hope Clarkson plays for Rupp guyincognito 04-20-2007, 04:24 PM I remember when he was sent down (for cap purposes in addition to the fact that the whole team was healthy) Lou said something like "he'll be back up here before you know it." Not that I know one way or another, but this call up doesn't have to mean they're using him. They could just want him around as a hanger-on because they assume he'll be playing for the team next season. I wouldn't get my hopes up until he's out there for his first shift. jkrdevil 04-20-2007, 04:26 PM btw where is jason weimer? The Mad Crapper 04-20-2007, 05:53 PM I know I've been sounding like a broken record, but I really do hope that we see both Clarkson & Janssen in the game tonight. To have both of them on the ice at the same time would be electricity in the stands. The place would be rabid!!! I would play them together for a few shifts until they irritate the hell out of the Lightening & they go after Cam. After that, I would move Clarkson around to other lines & the PP. Keeping my fingers crossed they do us right & have them both playing!!! :handclap: Go Devils!!! :towel: :devdance: JJL185 04-20-2007, 07:12 PM Has Janssen's shoulder healed? Devilswede 04-20-2007, 07:17 PM Has Janssen's shoulder healed? Long time ago. Janssen has been a healthy scratch in the series. holy roman empire 04-20-2007, 11:44 PM Rupp did a nice job tonight. 1 assist, 1 fight JerryGigantic 04-21-2007, 02:44 PM First of all, RE: The Call-Up... Yessssssssssssss!!! Also, considering how chippy the end of last nights game got, with all the misconduct penalties and cheapo instigating by the Tampa Gay players, I'd probably sit Rassy over Rupper, because I got a feeling there will be another fight or three down in Florida, especially if we score early. David will fight if need be, and will hit like crazy, but I think Rupp would answer the bell first. I probably wouldn't consider dressing Janssen, though, because Rupp has made the most of his three minutes of ice-time playing like an actual hockey player, with an assist last night and a near assist the previous game (feeding Gomez down the middle with a sick pass.) If he plays that well and sees so little ice time, by comparison Janssen would play for around 40 seconds. bense27 04-21-2007, 02:45 PM wait, is he called up or not? Devilswede 04-21-2007, 02:49 PM wait, is he called up or not? Yes he is. He's practicing with the team. He flew with them down to Tampa and might play tomorrow. Devilsfanatic 04-21-2007, 02:50 PM wait, is he called up or not? He is, he just did not play last night. bense27 04-21-2007, 02:50 PM ohhh okay. That sucks. I hope he plays tomorrow. Devilsfanatic 04-21-2007, 02:59 PM ohhh okay. That sucks. I hope he plays tomorrow. :) Anytime you need to know, just check the Devils Roster page and if the player is listed, chances are they'll be up with the big team. Marty's Bread Basket 04-21-2007, 08:40 PM According to the Record, or Ledger, he was called up because Elias may be nursing an injury. I hope thats not the reason. devsfan8 04-21-2007, 10:49 PM Wouldn't mind this for game 6: Elias-Gomez-Gionta Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner Pandolfo-Madden-Clarkson Rupp-Brylin-Rasmussen Scratch Dowd. devsfan8 04-21-2007, 11:21 PM According to the Record, or Ledger, he was called up because Elias may be nursing an injury. I hope thats not the reason. He was called up before Game 5 and Elias played in Game 5. bense27 04-22-2007, 12:15 AM why the hell do you all want to break up Madden Pando and Brylin?!?!?!??!!? bense27 04-22-2007, 12:17 AM He was called up before Game 5 and Elias played in Game 5. Yeah but they probably just want to have him up hanging out with the team until they need him. It's good for him to bond with the guys a little. It helps their chemistry on the ice. | ||
