I'm with you! Penguin becomes a Duck.

After the Penguins were eliminated last night, i have decided i shall follow and support the Ducks.

I have always had a soft spot ever since 2003 when you made it to the finals, and of course good ol' Brit Steve Thomas was in your line-up.

Also, i shall be seeing your opening 2 fixtures next season in London and it would be great to see the Stanley Cup Champions!

So, can anyone give me a quick lo-down on the Ducks squad? I know a fair bit, but being a UK Based Penguins fan, i don't hear much about the west. Thanks. Oh and does anyone have a good Avatar they can reccomend for me to adopt?

Welcome aboard! The Ducks are probably the toughest and most physical team in the league, which often leads to opposing teams' fans classifying them as "a bunch of goons"--thus our slogan "give us your lunch money" to go along with the bully sterotype. The lineup is also very versatile in terms of playing styles so they adjust well to their opponents.
I'm sure one of our photoshop talents could hook you up with a Pen sporting a 'stache. :D You could also look in our playoff avatar thread. There are lots of good ones in there.

WELCOME ABOARD! :yo: Duck Halo explained things well. This team is tough, physical, and can score goals. We have arguably two of the best defensemen in the league in Pronger and Niedermayer and a 48 goal scorer in Selanne. Go check out the playoff avatar thread and our experts will "stache" up your avatar. The stache comes from one of our enforcers George Parros, who is one of the most popular players on the team. :)

BTW, I miss Stumpy. :(

Balanced scoring with 5 different 25 goal scorers (Selanne, Penner, Getzlaf, McDonald, Kunitz). 2 Norris quality defensemen in Pronger and S. Niedermayer. Two goalies who could or should be #1 goalies in Giguere and Bryzgalov. Team toughness as others have said. One of the top shutdown lines in Pahlsson, Moen and R. Niedermayer.

Our weakness is prolly we tend to take a lot of penalties due to the way we play the game (aggressive). But we have one of the top PK units.

I would say our weakness would be scoring at times. Some games even if we do score 1 or 2 goals those are the only strong chances. I think that was just the regular season, but sometimes we have trouble scoring.

I haven't watched one Ducks game this season, but your avitars scare the hell out of me and hence make me afraid of the Ducks.

Im another English Pens fan who is now cheering for the Ducks.

I like the speed and toughness of the Ducks. Also George Parros is without a doubt the coolest looking player in the NHL. Something which would improve the Ducks though is a proper logo rather than just the word Anaheim Ducks.

I have a bit of Ducks history in that I was at the first Ducks playoff game EVER.
