Which matchups are now possible for the ducks in the 2nd round? is the ranking from the regular season important or are the remaining teams ranked again?

Canucks are the likely matchup. Calgary is possible, if they can drop Detroit. If Dallas drops Vancouver, we'd face Nashville or San Jose.

It all depends on Calgary though. If Calgary wins, we play them no matter what. If they lose, then it depends on the Vancouver/Dallas series and the San Jose/Nashville series. I do believe that Dallas will actually win the series. (My bold prediction)! :yo:

The only team left in the west that the Ducks can't play is Detroit.

Sojourn explained it well.

As a fan, I can say this. I'd most like to play Vancouver...although they are challenging with Luongo in goal. And they play tight defensive playoff hockey, which is often successful.

I want to avoid San Jose.

Hopefully Beauchemin gets healthy.

See I want to play San Jose because I think it'd be a great series. But it wouldn't be the most favorable series. I think I might prefer Calgary to Vancouver, but it's a tough call.

SJ would be an entertaining series. Calgary can't win on the road...at least yet.

We can if Detroit loses.

Yeah we can if Detroit loses.

No, because if Detroit loses, then Calgary is the lowest seed left and we're the highest.

Doh! You are right. I guess we can't play them either.

If I have to see the Sharks I rather it be in the conference finals. I think we match up well with Vancouver mainly because they aren't loaded with offensive talent, the shutdown line can atleast contain the Sedins and we have had success vs Luongo this year too.

Yeah but Calgary's away record and our home ice advantage makes me like them better. That and Vancouver's been pretty hot recently. Although Calgary does have Jeff Friesen, who seems to screw us whether he's on our team or on the other team.

Your right.

Calgary is my pick for the next round.

Save San Jose for a great Conference Final series.

Calgary may have evened up their series but I don't think they have any chance at beating Detroit at home. Those two games in Calgary were close too but they weren't close in Detroit. But you never know, their series reminds me a lot of the 01 series between Detroit and LA.

I think Vancouver will close out Dallas in game 6. I know the Stars are back home but Luongo is unreal right now. The Nucks won't be shut out again.
