The beautiful, pinkish Honda Center!

Probable Starters: Jean Sebastien Giguere VS Niklas Backstrom
WHO?: Ducks V Wild
HOW?: (Eyes) FSN Prime Ticket, (Ears) 830 AM KLAA
WHEN?: Thursday, April 19th, 2007...7:30 PT.
WHY?: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
WHAT?: Duck's Regular Season Record: 48-20-14...110 Points/Wild's Regular Season Record: 48-26-8...104 Points. Duck's Playoff Record: 3-1/Wild's Playoff Record: 1-3.
Previous Matchups Between These Teams: The Wild defeated the Ducks 4-1 in the last game. The season series is 2-2-0 in favor of...nobody. :dunno: The playoff series is 3-1 in favor of our mallards! :)
WWWWWH? Trivia Question: Name the two trades under Burke that netted the Ducks second round draft choices.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Wild are coming off an impressive 4-1 victory over the Ducks and look to continue to starve off elimination with a victory in Anaheim. Meanwhile, the Ducks are looking for the 2nd time to eliminate the Ducks and advance to the semi-finals. Some physicality and fisticuffs may carry over to this game and Brad May was actually suspended for three games for participating in the last game's "activities". Which team will get its way? We will find out (tomorrow) night? :) :yo:

Ducks try to re-group to finish off Wild (Written by Associated Press Person)
Ducks centre Ryan Getzlaf wasn't really surprised the Minnesota Wild finally won a game in their opening-round playoff series.

''We never expected to shut them down the whole series. They're a good club,'' Getzlaf said Wednesday following a brisk practice.

Looking back on the loss, Getzlaf said, ''We scored the first goal and felt comfortable, maybe too comfortable.''

Anaheim Ducks Recall Eight (Written by Hockeyfights.com dude or duddete)
The Anaheim ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled centers Tim Brent, Ryan Carter (http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/2159) and Petteri Wirtanen, right wingers Mike Hoffman and Bobby Ryan, defensemen Brian Salcido and Clay Wilson and goaltender Gerald Coleman from the Portland Pirates (http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/2481), Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

So, in addition to the recalled players mentioned in the last GDT, Bobby Ryan and Clay Wilson have been called up as well! :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, that is all for me all! Have a good one and a good day! Too too! :)

The Ducks need to keep their head intact. The Wild are coming into this game with some confidence. We need to stay patient, kill them with our forecheck and hold the blueline. We can't afford to trade chances with a team like the Wild.

Except for Sammi, everyone needs to step up their game Thurs. The Ducks know what's at stake. Lose this game and we're heading back to Minnesota.

Initially, I was thinking Prospal, but recalled he was traded before Burkie came to the Ducks.

I hope the Ducks come out gunning, instead of being comfortable. Go Ducks!

fairly normal for an NHL playoff team to call up 8-10 of their AHLers after their season is completed.

Giguere's turn to be the man.

Beauchemin should be back.

Ducks with the last change at home will have the Pahlsson line shutting down Gaborik.

No reason why the Ducks can't finish this tonight.

And it's only about the 40th time that's happened this season. The motto going forward needs to be that one goal ain't enough.

Is it certain Giguere plays? Bryzgalov did nothing to lose the job..I'm just the opposite. I think McDonald has been decent, he's been dangerous, and he got the nice tip in off Pronger for the goal. Kunitz has taken some stupid penalties, but he's doing his job being physical, and almost tucked that breakaway if it wasn't for the post. Selanne seems to be just floating on the perimeter. I want to see him drive that puck into the slot, instead of his usual circle behind the net and turn it over crap.

lol. To be fair, they are trying to get into Backstrom's head and create angles at which shots are unpredictable and easy to get a rebound chance off of. Maybe circling behind the net isn't the BEST way to do this, but Selanne is usually looking to draw off the D, pass it up to the point so someone can shoot and another can deflect it in. At least that's the way I read the situation. Selanne shooting the puck isn't a bad thing, but it wouldn't work the same on Backstrom as it would on most goalies.

There's no way we would be playin the Red Wings in the next round. My favorite team to play against would be the Stars. Unfortunately we won't be playing them either. Out of the 4 possible teams we could play against (Sharks, Predators, Flames, and Canucks), I'd probably take the Predators since I think they would have the weakest overall goaltending out of the 4.

And where is Stalbert during this series?
I didn't see Boogard either, wouldn't surprise me if he didn't, he probably would've tried to sock Beauchemin in the face.

Giguere looked good tonight his rebound control was about as good as it gets, he didn't face many great chances but he didn't give them any either.

Getzlaf..this guy is good, he scored two huge goals for us in this series. Penner looked 100 times better tonight indicating he was healthy, he sacrificed himself to make a play on the Perry goal, he was fantastic. Perry is a tough SOB he gets nailed every night but continues to play in the dirty areas.

Beauchemin makes a huge difference for us Pronger and Niedermayer are great but he is almost as important to the team, very very gutty effort from him.

Pronger was fantastic, he was great on that 2 minute five on three. Made a great decision on the 3rd goal and was excellent defensively, our best player in the series IMO.

Niedermayer was good once again, this entire series he was outstanding defensively.

Our checking line remains to be our most consistant line, Pahlsson in particular was awesome in this series.

now we have atleast 6 days off this will allow us to recharge the batteries and based on last years experiance they will handle all the days off better.

FSN North: Commentators were so biased for Wild. It was funny to listen them whining.

Go Ducks! :yo:

Well I can understand why he might be pissed and not want to shake hands, but that's pretty poor sportsmanship. It's a tradition, and bigger than one series.

And guys have skipped it before. Guys have been told to skip it before. We don't know what happened here, but maybe Boogaard didn't think he could control himself in the line. If that's the case, it's probably a good thing he didn't shake hands. I'd rather hear people be upset about him skipping the line than be upset about him decking someone in the line.

Not only that, but Teemu Selanne did it last year after the Edmonton series. Were you whining about tradition then?

Congrats to the Ducks. I won't be rooting for them, but like I said before this series, they're built for a long playoff run. They've done nothing to make me think otherwise, though I still think they need to be a little better 5 on 5 (they were outscored 5 on 5 in this series, but the sample size is too small to cause me too much concern).

agree those commentators were annoying..that should be charging, clear charging (clean hit), that was clear tripping, that should be penalty for diving..

and what really pissed me was when boogaard behind jiggy had some scrap - 2nd with scotty and moen come and hit him
- commentators:that wasnt neccesary, that should remain between boogaard and scotty all the way..

dzeez that was one of the most stupid comments I've heard, yeah boogaard would run scotty(1 of best Dmans, our captain) whole game and nobody would do nothing?
and than what?injure him?
stupid commentators

Congrats to the Ducks. They controlled the tempo and thus the series.

Boogaard was quoted as saying that he wanted to be in the handshake line but "they" (whomever they are) asked that he didn't. Booger Face has been on the Ducks s**tlist ever since he broke Fridge's cheek. Most enforcers know how to control themselves during a fight so as not to seriously injure their opponents. He doesn't know how or he doesn't exercise it.

FYI, The Wild coaches didn't shake hands with the Ducks coaches either.

eh, who cares?

By the way, I forgot to mention it earlier. The best part of the game was when the puck was going up in the air (going out of play i think) next to the Wild bench and Pronger waives at it and bats it down and hits Boogard in the head with it. That was hilarious. His reaction was great. :biglaugh:

If what Pronger did was intentional ( i hope not) Boogaard has every right to be pissed off. Pretty cheap IMO.

The best part to me about the game was seeing how Pahlsson, time and time again, playing great defense and being physical.
