Is there still a player in the crease rule?

I tried to post this in the Minnesota room but I guess all of the state of Minnesota is at the game tonight! ... lol...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

supposed goal #5 by Minnesota tonight (April 17) game 4 vs. Ducks, was called back because of a player in the crease...

I have not heard this called all season long and I've watched alot of hockey. I thought that rule was rid of in favor for more goaltender interference calls...

Anyone got the correct ruling on this? Also, upon review it looked like BRANKO RADIVOJEVIC wasn't even in the crease... and no interference call was made. neither was there a review of the goal.

so what's up?

it this is a rule, i've seen alot of goals go in by players crashing the net, etc.. (ie, in the crease) and never have they been called back this season. how do you think Croby got most of his goals this season?

I don't have a definitive answer, but I could have sworn they got rid of the in the crease rule the year after Hull's goal. I thought that was the ONLY year it existed.

And even if it did exist he was neither in the crease nor interfering with the goalie. But no big deal, it's not like it would have changed the game anyways.

Yeah that was a goal and a perfect screen. I think the ref felt bad about the bs call against Huskins.

I thought the same thing. Ever since Brett Hull scored against the Sabres in Game 6 of the cup finals it appears the in-the-crease calls have been inconsistent.

It should have been a goal.

That was the worst year of hockey ever. That rule made every game retarded.

Oddly enough, Jacques Lemaire was a big proponent of that rule.

He loved the "IT'S A GOALLLLLLLL....oh wait, nevermind, some guy's skateblade touched the other side of the crease away from the puck...no goal" year?

I thought that it was okay to go through the crease, but not okay to camp there....??? I don't know.

Lemaire retired and immediately became a proponent of a lot of things that suck.

It's the least the refs could have done to make up for the ludicrous calls against the Ducks (or lack thereof in the case of Derek Boogaard) throughout the first 15 minutes of the 3rd.
