Not over, Ducks say (Written by Bruce Brothers)
The Anaheim Ducks are more than an exceptional hockey team.
It's not over, they repeated over and over in their dressing room after they finished pounding nails three-quarters of the way around a coffin containing the stirring remains of the best hockey team in the Wild's history.
The Ducks have winged to a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven NHL playoff series, but defenseman Chris Pronger spoke the company line when he said: "We've seen time and again teams have been able to come back from a 2-nothing lead, and 3-nothing, now. That team over there has got a lot of pride and certainly a lot of really good hockey players."

Call-ups to Anaheim mean the season goes on for some (Written by Paul Betit)
After the game against Hartford, right wing Joe Motzko and center Drew Miller left for Boston, where they will try to fly to Minneapolis today to join the Anaheim Ducks.
On Tuesday, goalie Gerald Coleman, defenseman Brian Salcido, forwards Tim Brent, Mike Hoffman and Ryan Carter will leave for Anaheim.
Petteri Wirtanen, who is being treated for an injury, is already there.
Last Tuesday night, defenseman Aaron Rome was called up.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that is all for me folks. Have a good one and a good sleep. Good night and good luck! (To borrow Ed R. Murrows favorite closing phrase). :) :handclap:
Randall Graves* 04-17-2007, 03:06 AM Let's get this over with we got screwed over last year after beating the Avs with all that rest but i'd rather sweep than tempt fate..
Jerky Leclerc 04-17-2007, 03:38 AM The Wild have too much pride to lay down. They are going to come hard tonight. The Ducks need to bring their best effort to finish the series. Lets go Ducks!
byungshin34 04-17-2007, 03:48 AM We're in a good position right now, but if the Wild actually make a comeback it would be the most shameful thing ever. I feel good right now, but in the back of my mind I'm a little worried about a possible comeback.
Yes this is a scary position, I believe someone posted in an earlier thread that the Wild came back from 3-1 deficits twice in 03
This isnt 3-1 but its still scary
ktulu98 04-17-2007, 07:23 AM if ducks will win this one I will not see game 5 - that will be broadcasted here in slovakia(it would be ducks game #4 here )..so now I dont know what I want :)
but I know, I would rather not see game 5 and than slovaks from wild can go on WCH :)
so let's go ducks :handclap:
all slovakia rooting for duck :)

Yes this is a scary position, I believe someone posted in an earlier thread that the Wild came back from 3-1 deficits twice in 03
This isnt 3-1 but its still scary
It's the playoffs, it's always scary until you finish a series. But it's a heck of a lot less scary than being down 0-3.
soya_sauce_chicken 04-17-2007, 03:11 PM i'll be working late, so you ppl better keep posting and keep me updated..
arinkrat* 04-17-2007, 03:31 PM Bad news: Frankie will be out of the line up tonight, and his status for the rest of the playoffs is uncertain. I know he lost some teeth and had quite a few stitches, but I didn't realize his injury was that bad.
On the Road with the Ducks
Updated April 17 at 11:12 a.m.
Francois Beauchemin will not play in tonight's Game 4 after taking a puck to the face in Game 3 on Sunday night. His status for the rest of the postseason is uncertain.

Tfighter 04-17-2007, 03:53 PM If we still had O'Brien, it would be Shannon skating with Getz and Perry instead of May ...

Still go with O'Brien. May is a solid role player, nothing more, nothing less.
Vulak 04-17-2007, 04:18 PM gonna be hard match. Hope ducks can end it, fear backström stealing this one tho :/. wouldnt be suprised to see 1-0 loss with minny doing garbage goal ><
Justarrived 04-17-2007, 04:36 PM LAT said yesterday X rays didn't find any broken bones or jaw fractures. I guess Frankie said he wasn't feeling well, so hey take the time get well. I just don't see him being out the rest of the playoffs, that's troubling.
bradycook14 04-17-2007, 04:46 PM Frankies leading the team in playoff points right now too..tough loss

Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 09:03 PM King Beauchemin isn't playing...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Davey Duck 04-17-2007, 09:05 PM Trivia: I'm going with Selanne. I'm guessing McDonald got kicked from the faceoff.
EDIT: Damn, that was already taken.
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-17-2007, 09:10 PM Penner-Marchant-Shannon was lighting it up at the time(well, in the preseason), and I think they started that game, so I'm gonna guess it was Todd Marchant.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 09:12 PM Aaron Rome playoff debut.

byungshin34 04-17-2007, 09:31 PM Yes.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 09:35 PM good job 4th line!
powerplay coming up for the Ducks.
lux_interior 04-17-2007, 09:36 PM Minny's playing with their elbows up. If the refs don't start calling it, time to get our elbows and sticks up.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 09:36 PM Phew! Minny was flying all at the beginning. Let's see what the PP can do.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 09:38 PM Huskins is now taking Beauch's PP spot. Nice attempt at a shot from the top of the ice.
soya_sauce_chicken 04-17-2007, 09:38 PM Minny's playing with their elbows up. If the refs don't start calling it, time to get our elbows and sticks up.
what's happening bud?
are they just saying screw it let's injure the Ducks??
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 09:43 PM The Ducks seem just to be taking the punches. But I wonder how long can they withstand things without having a viable counter?
lux_interior 04-17-2007, 09:44 PM what's happening bud?
are they just saying screw it let's injure the Ducks??
Something like that.
Do Ahlers and Hayward have to make the goalie union joke every time Hayward talks about goalies.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 09:45 PM 0-0 after first period.
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 09:46 PM 0-0 after first period.
I agree with Hazy. The longer the game stays like that, the better that is for the Ducks. Looking for the next period to have a few more scoring chances. :)
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:07 PM getting physical...
Boogaard takes a couple runs. Tried to do another kneeing cheap shot.
Thornton bumps into Backstrom.
Rome boards Walz.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:08 PM Moen has to get in there faster when Veilluex starts taking shots at Pahlsson.
190Octane 04-17-2007, 10:08 PM Buck Foogaard, I hate that POS. He's so big and oafish that when someone skates around him which is all the time the only thing he can do is stick out his knee.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:09 PM Ducks going on the powerplay so maybe Moen made the right decision.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:09 PM Pronger!!!
1-0
190Octane 04-17-2007, 10:09 PM Wooooooooooooo, it's so much nicer having him for us than against us with that rocket on the PP.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 10:10 PM Pronger with the BOMB! from the blue line. Another PP goal! Yeah!
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 10:10 PM Great shot by Pronger! :yo:
PP strikes again! :)
lux_interior 04-17-2007, 10:11 PM Pronger scores. A power play goal. Wild fans can boo into the summer.
Boogard tries to end Rome's career before it starts with another knee. Boogard is an ass.
Ducks_è_Halos 04-17-2007, 10:13 PM Wooooooooooooo, it's so much nicer having him for us than against us with that rocket on the PP.
If you can't beat 'em, get 'em on your side. ;)
Spiral 04-17-2007, 10:13 PM That was an awesome shot by Pronger! Yaaaay, GO DUCKS!!!
soya_sauce_chicken 04-17-2007, 10:14 PM Getz and Scotty Nieds with the assist
cmcdmania 04-17-2007, 10:17 PM Wow. Good thing Bryz didn't back up or the score would be 1-1.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:20 PM Bryzgalov keeping the game 1-0.
Wild going on the powerplay...
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 10:21 PM Bryz is playing amazing and the defense is playing positions and clearing pucks! The Ducks with the counter PP goal, but the Wild just keep coming! Keep skating Getz!!!! Don't let up! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
soya_sauce_chicken 04-17-2007, 10:21 PM what happened?
cmcdmania 04-17-2007, 10:22 PM Waved orange towels look much more appealing than white, IMO.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 10:25 PM Teemu and Andy nearly had the cushion goal! Argh! So close.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 10:28 PM Pronger, instead of rushing to the puck at the end of the ice, extended his arm out to prevent the Wild player from getting to the puck and gets called for interference. Correct call, but why did Pronger need to do that? No real need.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:32 PM 1-1
off the post and in.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 10:32 PM Wild just going loose and the Ducks couldn't fish it out from the corner. Wild ties it up.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:33 PM rolling puck after his first shot was blocked and then off the post and into the corner.
everything went right for Bouchard on that play.
190Octane 04-17-2007, 10:36 PM I hate power plays that are broken up by the intermission.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 10:36 PM Ducks on a PP with Gaborik in the box for hooking Sami.
McDonald19 04-17-2007, 10:37 PM 1-1 after 2.
Jerky Leclerc 04-17-2007, 10:41 PM Wow, the Wild came to play tonight. You can't blame their effort. The Ducks need to play 1 good period and we end this series. Go Ducks!
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 10:43 PM Wow, the Wild came to play tonight. You can't blame their effort. The Ducks need to play 1 good period and we end this series. Go Ducks!
LETS GO DUCKS! :hockey:
Jerky Leclerc 04-17-2007, 10:46 PM LETS GO DUCKS! :hockey:
LETS GO DUCKS!
:hockey: :hit: :stanley:
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 10:49 PM This PP is absolutley huge. I mean big big big big...!
Spanky McQuack 04-17-2007, 11:01 PM wow what a joke of a call
gaborik clearly trips pahlsson and gets away with it then some marginal call goes against the Ducks :shakehead
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:01 PM Wild with a PP goal. Lots of jamming into the Bryz' leg. The Leg didn't stay put and the Wild are allowed to keep on jamming. Bad break for Bryz. He was there, but just couldn't slam it shut.
190Octane 04-17-2007, 11:01 PM Get ready for 16 minutes of boring ass hockey.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:03 PM Will the Ducks finally start playing hard hockey now instead of a stifling defense that lets the Wild continue to keep on the offensive prowess?
190Octane 04-17-2007, 11:04 PM They need to pick up the hitting and start getting them to cough up the puck again.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:05 PM I'd call a timeout if I was Carlyle...
Hey! What's up with the Refs putting the whistle away now???
190Octane 04-17-2007, 11:06 PM Backstrom is spitting rebounds out left and right... just gotta start putting them in.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:12 PM Wild up now 3-1.
byungshin34 04-17-2007, 11:12 PM Crap. Looks like it's gonna be game 5.
Spanky McQuack 04-17-2007, 11:12 PM id like to see some actual heart in this game
they aren't playing like a team possessed right now...which they need to be
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:13 PM That was a quick whistle when Backstrom went down and didn't know where it was. Where was that with Bryz?
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:15 PM Arg, oh well. Still plenty of time.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:16 PM What? No PP opportunity after that penalty by Boogard?!
Stick a fork in them tonight. They're playing like friggin bums.
I start the commute home at 1-0 Ducks, and by the time I get home and turn on the TV, it's 4-1 Wild. Unbelievable.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:18 PM Brawls... Perry vs Burns. Burns brings Perry down and continues to wail. No one wants to fight with Getz though.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:19 PM After scrum, goalie change. In comes Jiggy. No real loss here for JIggy, but helps to get back into the game.
Wild Thing 04-17-2007, 11:21 PM What? No PP opportunity after that penalty by Boogard?!
You're being sarcastic, right? What penalty? Smacking May in the fist with his freaking face?
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:21 PM Well, the Ducks still have 3 games to get it right. I have confidence.
This game sucked. Not Bryz's fault at all.
Hockeyfan02 04-17-2007, 11:22 PM The Wild were going to win one in Minny, was just hoping for the sweep. Ducks will hopefully end this series on Thursday.
Jocksta18 04-17-2007, 11:22 PM Wild Fan here. Well, I am glad we got a win. I still don't see us winning in Anaheim though. Cya for game 5.
OK, I can't stand watching this any longer. There's no effort on the PK, no effort to clear traffic out of the crease, no effort to hold the Minnesota defense from waltzing right into the offensive zone. It's almost like they want to play a fifth game.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:23 PM No goal... how is that not a goalie interference? They must love the Wild!
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:23 PM Huh, how was that a goalie interference penalty? Odd. :dunno:
snarktacular 04-17-2007, 11:23 PM Huh? How can that be no goal and no penalty? I thought they got rid of that rule?
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:25 PM Whoa! I saw a too many men on the ice penalty by the Wild! ***? Seriously now!
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:25 PM Well, there are some positives guys. We still have a 3-1 series lead, this will hopefully wake the Ducks up, we are going back home.
I still am optimistic. :)
snarktacular 04-17-2007, 11:26 PM Whatever, the game is probably a lost cause. If we don't get a PP goal, concentrate on making a statement.
SamitheGreat 04-17-2007, 11:27 PM Wild fought hard, Ducks didn't. Looking forward to Carlyle being able to select the matchups back in Anaheim. The question now is who will be in goal. My money says Giggy simply because I think thats who Carlyle prefers as his starter but he was giving the reins to Bryz until he let in some goals.
Definitely don't blame the game on Bryz, Wild just dominated at home. Looking forward to Game 5...
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:27 PM Whatever, the game is probably a lost cause. If we don't get a PP goal, concentrate on making a statement.
I agree, lay some beatdown and physicality on them. :fight:
snarktacular 04-17-2007, 11:28 PM Kunitz with the charge. Looks like he took the statement sentiment to heart. Not that it's Bryz's fault, but it looks like the perfect time to get Giguere back in for next game.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:29 PM Kunitz gets a charging call... and Boogard has nil. Way to work over the refs, eh? Doesn't want the Wild to be embarrassed yet again.
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:30 PM Just for some positives...there were many instances in the last playoffs where the 3-0 team leader let the other team win Game 5, before they finally put the losing team down. Just look at last year's Ducks/Oilers series.
LETS GO DUCKS! :vhappy:
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:31 PM Dang, it looks weird to see Jigger in there.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:31 PM Bryz has played wonderfully... but if you play "not to lose" to which the Ducks were playing all game long, you're gonna let pucks in unless you're standing on your head. Atleast have the opportunity to win a game and not be bombarded like that kid in the Mighty Ducks movie.
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:33 PM Kunitz hit the post....shocked that he didn't go to the backhand lol.
snarktacular 04-17-2007, 11:34 PM Statement part 2? Brawl. And Koivu's down?
Edit: Johnsson, the Ducks announcers suck.
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:34 PM Well, we predicted that this would happen. Just what the doctor ordered.
Thornton gone for third man in penalty for defending Huskins.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:36 PM Isn't holding Huskins up a call for interference or holding? Seeing the replay again and you had a ref just watching it all. Wow... the refs are letting the Wild run... i hate it say it... wild.
Collect video and send them to the NHL about Boogard.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:40 PM The Ducks get a Major? Didn't the Wild player instigate it? And May got one for the Wild turtling???? BS? I think so.
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:41 PM The Ducks get a Major? Didn't the Wild player instigate it? And May got one for the Wild turtling???? BS? I think so.
Thornton is probably gone next game to suspension...third man in. May got a major for punching somebody I think.
Dirk316 04-17-2007, 11:41 PM MEMO TO CARLYLE:
IF BOOGARD IS IN DO NOT SCRATCH PARROS
:shakehead :shakehead :shakehead
Spiral 04-17-2007, 11:42 PM The Ducks are fine. We got the split, now the Ducks can finish this off on home ice.
GO DUCKS!
chaachie12 04-17-2007, 11:42 PM duckie, is this an act, or do you really think all of these things are true? Honestly.
Hockey Duckie 04-17-2007, 11:42 PM Game over. I didn't like this game after witnessing the 1st period. It was just Wild attack after Wild attack and ongoing. Was it b/c the lack of quality D-men?
Now gone: C Marchant, D Beauchemin.
snarktacular 04-17-2007, 11:44 PM So who's going to be playing next game? Giguere or Bryzgalov? Will Thornton be suspended? Will Beauchemin be back? Stay tuned for the answers, in 2 days!
Spankatola Jamnuts 04-17-2007, 11:44 PM I don't understand what May got the match for. Johnsson hid until May was taken off the ice. He was perfectly fine.
Ducksforcup 04-17-2007, 11:45 PM So who's going to be playing next game? Giguere or Bryzgalov? Will Thornton be suspended? Will Beauchemin be back? Stay tuned for the answers, in 2 days!
Thornton will probably be gone. I wouldn't be surprised if May got at least a fine.
Parros will be in the lineup. I believe that Francois will be as well. I say that Bryzgalov will play.
chaachie12 04-17-2007, 11:45 PM I don't understand what May got the match for. Johnsson hid until May was taken off the ice. He was perfectly fine.
so, sucker punching a guy is cool, unless there is an injury...then what?
Jerky Leclerc 04-17-2007, 11:46 PM Well at least the series head back to Anaheim. I hate seeing the momentum change at the Xcel. The Ducks need to get back to forechecking and playing physical. Tonight, we let the Wild take it to us and I don't like it one bit.
Spankatola Jamnuts 04-17-2007, 11:48 PM so, sucker punching a guy is cool, unless there is an injury...then what?
What sucker punch? They were already wrapped up. How do you not know Brad May is going to punch you?
snarktacular 04-17-2007, 11:48 PM Wow didn't realize May got a match. I'm slow today. He's probably out next game too. So we'll be playing a 4th line of Shannon, Hartigan, Parros? Craptacular.
Jezz* 04-17-2007, 11:50 PM Where's the beef? Who told them to stop hitting?
21pro 04-17-2007, 11:51 PM wow. the wild are consistently getting better at Anaheim's game. their scouting department deserves a raise. it seems like they got'em figured out.
I think when Parros will be back and bauchemain, the momentum will change. Rome is not a playoff calibre player. Huskins did pretty well.
I think selanne need to step up. He has been quite invisible.
Spanky McQuack 04-17-2007, 11:54 PM wow. the wild are consistently getting better at Anaheim's game. their scouting department deserves a raise. it seems like they got'em figured out.
actually i think its that they played desperatly...and anaheim played like they didn't give a ****
hockeydemon05 04-17-2007, 11:55 PM so, sucker punching a guy is cool, unless there is an injury...then what?
What sucker punch???
edit: well really, I didn't see any sucker punch. But if there was one...my bad.
chaachie12 04-17-2007, 11:57 PM What sucker punch???

The one May got kicked out for.
Ducksforcup 04-18-2007, 12:03 AM My Dad and I both thought that Parros would eventually have to fight Boogaard. I can't see how it can be avoided now.
soya_sauce_chicken 04-18-2007, 12:10 AM on the 3rd game before it was done, my dad said that the Ducks will loose one game so that they can win it at home...
guess my pop was right..
let's go ducks!!
Boy, I can't stand all the whining in the main Stanley Cup forum. We need to start distributing some cheese to the masses.
It's the playoffs, and it's not like someone took a lumberjack swing with the stick at someone's head. Kunitz is a goon!
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-18-2007, 12:24 AM MEMO TO CARLYLE:
IF BOOGARD IS IN DO NOT SCRATCH PARROS
:shakehead :shakehead :shakehead
I believe Carlyle hands in his line-up first, although I may be wrong. So, as Boogaard wasn't in last game, and Adam Hall played really well, I'm guessing that he figured Boogaard would be left out yet again, so he put Thornton in instead. Makes sense.
So, if Thornton's gone, and Lemaire elects not to go with Boogaard(although I'm certain he'll be in for game 5), who do we go with? I'm guessing it's a moot point, anyway, but I wouldn't mind seeing Ryan if we have an open spot. Well, if he's practicing well with the team, that is. Hopefully Thornton's good to go for Thursday, though.
Dirk316 04-18-2007, 12:37 AM Stupid game by Thornton. First of all Huskins started the fight with Hall and imo Huskins is probably the better fight regardless. Then Thornton as the teams enforcer for tonight knew Boogard is still in the game so he left his team with a disadvantage. I just looke Hall is not even a fighter. Thornton worst game as a Duck IMO.
tk421 04-18-2007, 12:38 AM Wow, May's quite the man, first he puts a bounty on Steve Moore then he jumps Kim johnson. Well what can you expect from a Brian Burke led team?
Wow, May's quite the man, first he puts a bounty on Steve Moore then he jumps Kim johnson. Well what can you expect from a Brian Burke led team?
What can you expect? A team that is tough and is a top contender for the cup, if you don't like contact go watch some basketball
WildFanAZ78 04-18-2007, 12:59 AM Nothing new with what May did...he did the same thing back in 03 when he was with the Nucks. Salanne can talk, but can't back it up. Thorton should be suspended for being 3rd man in (he came from the f-ing goal line). Lets hope the NHL finally gets the balls and suspends May and Thorton.

Spankatola Jamnuts 04-18-2007, 01:30 AM Is this the kind of garbage we're going to get when the Wild win a game?
We need to end this series quick, for great justice.
Yea I had to read a different GDT from work today and the wild fans in that one were absolute *******s
I hope we destroy them next game
Spankatola Jamnuts 04-18-2007, 01:44 AM Sucks we lost, but I have tickets to game 5.
Wild Thing 04-18-2007, 01:45 AM Is this the kind of garbage we're going to get when the Wild win a game?
What garbage? People disagreeing with you? Hell, if you want a private message board, have at it. Be my guest. I, for one, will intrude upon you no further. See ya.

Not you, guy. Don't get bunched.
Dirk316 04-18-2007, 02:15 AM hahahahah May should be suspended for the wussiest turtle by Jonnson ive ever seen in my life?:biglaugh: :biglaugh:
theShiba 04-18-2007, 02:15 AM Dang it Bright Side!!!! You're going to scare off all the good ones and make the trolls more angry!!!!!! ;)
Jezz* 04-18-2007, 02:24 AM This is such sad display of trash talk. They finally win one game and this is all they can bring. Sad. Maybe when they are so busy crying about how cheap and dirty May is, they should take a second and check out Boogard and his amazing extending leg. He should get a patent for that thing, he could make millions and sell it on late night infomercials.
Spiral 04-18-2007, 03:49 AM Can't wait to see the Ducks finally wrap this up on Thursday.
Randall Graves* 04-18-2007, 06:15 AM Why wasn't Parros in the lineup? And how come Boogard hasn't been suspended yet? he went for the hattrick tonight going for his 3rd knee on knee in 3 games.
I had an inkling Minnesota would win, we need Frankie Knuckles back and our first line isn't doing diddly. Selanne is creating chances but McDonald and Kunitz have stunk. IF they don't get it together soon I would like to see Getzlaf take McDonalds place. Penner/Perry/Kunitz/McDonald need to get better offensively.
In game five you go with Bryz he played very well, the ducks just weren't sharp after the first period and for the love of god dress Parros.
May should be suspended? for what, Johnsson turtling? gotta love how he laid on the ice like he was hurt til the coast was clear, such hypocrissy when a Wild player attacked Huskins who is not a fighter.
Randall Graves* 04-18-2007, 06:24 AM Nothing new with what May did...he did the same thing back in 03 when he was with the Nucks. Salanne can talk, but can't back it up. Did you just happen to miss how Kim Johnsson was magically fine after he peeked up and saw everyone gone, then proceeded to skate just fine to his bench?
vitogor 04-18-2007, 06:58 AM Did you just happen to miss how Kim Johnsson was magically fine after he peeked up and saw everyone gone, then proceeded to skate just fine to his bench?
I'll be the first to admit that Johnsson is a girl and it doesn't take much for him go down and start crying, but given May's reputation... until I see some kind of video proof of what happened, I'm not going to judge this incident either way.
Chimp 04-18-2007, 08:46 AM And I who thought punching someone in the back of the neck from behind was the more cowardly act of the two. That's not a fight, that's assault.
From NHL.com: "Johnsson sustained a head injury and will remain under observation by doctors overnight, the team said. His status for Thursday is unknown."
Go4Guy 04-18-2007, 09:23 AM Brad May is quite possibly the biggest ***** in the league, he hacks at boogie half the night and boogie gets in his face and he goes and stands behind the linesmen.
So with two minutes left in the game, a scrum happens (in which neither Johnsson or May are a part of) and May straight up suckerpunches Johnsson in the back of the head and throws him to the ice.... classy move Brad.
As for whoever said huskins is not a fighter..... If he truly is not a fighter keep skating to the bench, he was only 5 feet from it.
The ducks were embarrassed last night and they acted like a bunch of sore losers, last time I check they are still winning the series 3-1.
WashCapsfan4life8 04-18-2007, 10:12 AM My twin brother loves the ducks and gets so dang into it and stuff, like if the ducks are losing he yellsabout it and stuff and personally i want them to get out of the playoffs so i dont have to listen to him talk about them and stuff like that. I saw the game last night and at the end the ducks were sore losers. but yall prolly end up winning this series so good luck to you all. And I also believe that May and Thorton should be suspended

i am looking forward to watching the Ducks play the Nux in round 2.
no i am not looking to far ahead......both these teams are going to make it through
round 2: nux in 7 :handclap: :handclap:

Great quote. I love that the Ducks don't take losing well instead of just skating off the ice like they couldn't care less. It shows how much they really want to win.

I still haven't seen any video of any suckerpunch, if May did indeed do it he should be suspended, but the way Johnsson acted you really don't know.
snarktacular 04-18-2007, 06:43 PM Well Johnsson did act kind of funny. It certainly looked suspicious in the game the way he just popped back up when the coast was clear, with what looked like no problems. However the paper said he suffered a head injury and was under observation, so maybe it was a punch.
If so I think May will be deservedly suspended. I'm not a fan of cheap stuff like that.
Duckstudd269 04-18-2007, 09:26 PM Nothing new with what May did...he did the same thing back in 03 when he was with the Nucks. Salanne can talk, but can't back it up. First of all it's Selanne. 2nd of all he does back it up, with 48 goals in a season. Selanne is always at his players aid when there's a scrum. Yeah he doesn't fight, but no reason for him to with the team he's on. Let one of the numerous fighters on this team have the majors. I don't think it's smart to take a major if you're the best scorer on your team and in the playoffs. If Thorton and May are suspended fine, they deserve it, but for christ sakes how in the hell has boogard not been suspended? He goes for players knees on purpose. If you're going to be a tough guy, throw a check, don't try to end a players career with a cheap a$$ shot on the knee. If Thorton and May are suspended, then Boogard should be suspended too.
Wild Thing 04-18-2007, 10:27 PM Not you, guy. Don't get bunched.
I was just teasing you, but it fell kinda flat at 1 AM or whenever it was that I was posting. I shouldn't attempt clever little quips when I'm barely awake. I wouldn't give up posting here; aside from a couple of fanboy homers (which you're going to find on any message board) and that "arinkrat" character, I still think this is the best team board anywhere on HF. I recognize that Duck fans' perspectives are going to be somehwat biased toward their team, but then again, so our ours toward our team. There's no avoiding it. But by and large, I'm really impressed by the intellectual honesty and the sense of fairness that I find here; you're not just good hockey fans, you're a genuinely decent bunch of guys (and gals).
Now. Having said that... any of you have a room to rent out in the LA area? Because when your Quackers finish off the Wild tomorrow night, and 90% of our board has to wear Anaheim avatars until June on account of that silly-assed bet I got them involved with, I think I'm going to need a new town to live in.

it was a cheap shot, and those of us who have seen it, have agreed that May should be suspended. However, I find it odd that none of you are admitting that Boogard is playing dirty. YOU DON'T GO FOR A PLAYERS KNEE... It might not be a suckpunch from behind, but it's damn close.
