Ducksforcup 04-16-2007, 10:25 PM I was just thinking of this. Tampa and us have a lot of similarities. The areas are similar, the teams are relatively similar, they have OB, they have Hockeyfan02 who is a Duck/Tampa fan...:)
Why not eh? :D The Sens and Preds have a playoff alliance...why can't we have one too? I have yet to ask the Tampa board, but I am sure that they will accept once you (if you) guys jump on the band wagon. :teach::yo:
What this will entail is we will support each other no matter how far our teams go. You can watch the games, sport their avatars...anything ya want. Some of you might not agree with this because of the draft choice...I say whatevs. If this is a bad idea...well then I'm sorry. :biglaugh: My bad.
Go Ducks and Lightning.
hockeydemon05 04-16-2007, 10:28 PM I dont like tampa, so thats a no from me.
Sorry...
But if it was the Panthers, then hell yeah.
sammyp 04-16-2007, 10:50 PM Why not eh?
Because we have their 1st round pick.
EDIT: Didn't see that you mentioned the draft pick, DFC.
Buck Naked 04-16-2007, 11:01 PM I love the way Tampa Plays and the way Tortorella coaches I can't help but root for them in the east.
Ducks_è_Halos 04-17-2007, 12:23 AM I like the Sens from the East.
jax00 04-17-2007, 01:15 AM Id prefer an alliance with Buffalo (do they have one? Im still a newb around here), Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Islanders
theShiba 04-17-2007, 01:27 AM I vote for an alliance with Soviet Russia. In Soviet Russia, government win games for you.
I like the Flyers from the east and the Habs, but yeah... that's about it.
Static 04-17-2007, 01:31 AM Every other team can kiss my ass. This is playoff hockey, there are no alliances.
cmcdmania 04-17-2007, 01:57 AM What happened to Let's Go Devils?
ahtikullervo 04-17-2007, 02:14 AM No allience with Tampa thank You... :naughty:
CanadianPantherFan 04-17-2007, 03:32 AM I dont like tampa, so thats a no from me.
Sorry...
But if it was the Panthers, then hell yeah.
My bro is a Ducks fan, alliance? might be pushing it:)
Id prefer an alliance with Buffalo (do they have one? Im still a newb around here), Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Islanders
Yea Id rather the sabres
BraveSirRobin 04-17-2007, 05:02 AM I'd be for it. Tampa Bay and the Islanders are the two teams from the east I like.
bleuer 04-17-2007, 05:50 AM Tampa is fine with me...
Sevat 04-17-2007, 07:09 AM Every other team can kiss my ass. This is playoff hockey, there are no alliances.
Well said!!
Snap Wilson 04-17-2007, 09:10 AM They're playing the Devils in the first round. Go Tampa.
danielfred1235 04-17-2007, 02:29 PM I dont like tampa, so thats a no from me.
Sorry...
But if it was the Panthers, then hell yeah.
Couldn't possibly agree more. Panthers and Ducks are my 2 NHL teams. :D I don't wanna see TB or ATL go anywhere this year. GO DUCKS! (And GO CATS next season!)
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-18-2007, 05:07 PM I don't know if that playoff success system has been implemented yet. So, if we get a top 20 pick as long as they don't win the cup, I'm all for it. If the pick rises every round they advance, Go Devils.
lux_interior 04-18-2007, 05:34 PM Why?
_h0sehead_ 04-18-2007, 09:52 PM Every other team can kiss my ass. This is playoff hockey, there are no alliances. ditto
plus, i just hate how the east coast teams get so much more credit and attention (example no ducks on VS. which is good if you get fsnw/2 or kdoc)
Kick Save 04-19-2007, 06:31 PM Yea Id rather the sabres
I have nothing against the Bolts. However, I'd like to see the Ducks derive maximum benefit from the fact that they hold TB's #1 pick. Accordingly, the sooner they lose, the better. On the other hand, to me at least, the Devils are a scarier team, especially with the way Brodeur has performed under pressure the last few years. Seeing the Devils out of it would be nice.
There's nothing to be gained, though, by rooting for the Sabres. They'd have home ice advantage against us. Considering the fact that EVERY one of the seven games in the 2003 finals was won by the Home Team, home ice can be a huge advantage.
While I'm not expecting it to happen, I'll be thrilled if Buffalo doesn't win the Eastern Conference.
