DucksWon'07 04-15-2007, 03:58 PM This week's SportsIllustrated magazine features a Players Poll (366 NHL players polled) asking which team will win the Stanley Cup. The Ducks where the leading vote getter (33%) with Buffalo (23%), Nashville (15%) and Detroiy (10%) following.
SI featured two pictures by this poll, the new Buffa-slug logo and our retired Mighty Duck logo. What the hell?
Also 41.1% of the Eastern Conferance picked us to win, while only 24.7 of our fellow Western Conferance player picked us. Interesting.

Pronger is on the cover of the April 17th issue.
It says "The Team to Beat. Look out NHL, It's Anaheim's time."

Panheads Rule 04-15-2007, 10:59 PM And the Wild are really ripping it up. This is a friggin boring series. Did the Wild bribe someone to get into the playoffs? These guys suck!! Maybe next round we will play a team thats worthy. If I were the Wild I'd be embarrassed. I actually fell asleep during the third. Yawwwnnnnnn, bring on a team for us to play

Agree.
Ducks will keep fighting til the end, winning or losing.

I rather win the Stanley Cup than get good entertainment value. But to each his own.

The Wild are a good team, but they just aren't as good as the Ducks. This is a bad matchup for them when they rely so much on Gaborik and the Ducks have the horses to shut him down. That doesn't make them a bad team at all. It makes the Ducks the better team.

Kinda what you said, but the Wild are a good team, but match up horrably against us. Yes their play is very boring, but it works for them in the northwest. I hope we take this in 4 so we can rest up and be ready for a physical playoff series.

I saw that. It was hilarious. I first looked at ESPN where like all 5 or 6 experts picked the Ducks. I then go to CBS and they have like 6 or so experts all picking the Wild. Funny stuff.
Bjindaho 04-16-2007, 02:07 AM The Wild were probably the one team that matches up the worst against us.
The matchup I want to see, is an Anaheim-San Jose matchup.
There's two teams that line up.

Nah, their fans are by far the whiniest *****es on these boards. I'd rather play anyone else than have to put up with their constant crying about refs, dirty play, luck, etc..

If you're complaining of a boring series, but half of the blame on your own team. They are playing as defensive as any team has so far in the playoffs. The team that "sucks" was one of the top-3 hottest teams in the second half, and was playing much better hockey than Anaheim was until this series started. They were totally worthy of a playoff spot, and should have handily won the NW division if the injuries hadn't piled up early on (maybe taking a higher seed than your Quackers). Before you say a team "sucks", make sure there is some truth behind it. With the no-respect attitude you have, I'll be smiling when the Ducks are eliminated. You as a fan don't deserve a playoff team to root for.

You really need to stop with your "Minnesota is better than Anaheim at this and that" talk. You have nothing to back it up with and the Wild are just making you look dumber with each passing game. For example, your "playing much better" statement is pure hyperbole. The Ducks were still playing like one of the best teams in the league late in the season.

Everyone was crowing about the Wild, and how good they were and how great of a series it will be and blah blah blah blah and I just dont see the big deal with them. The only ones who have looked any good is maybe Parrish and for sure Backstrom. Backstrom has kept the Wild in the games so far. He has looked outstanding and everyone else seems to be missing in action. I know the Wild looked good in the second half, but they look flat now. Let the whining continue.........
Snap Wilson 04-16-2007, 04:37 PM Hey, I picked the Wild too. I clearly overstimated them and Lemaire. I thought he would have thrown in some wrinkles by now, but other than shuffling lines, he really doesn't have anything up his sleeve. It's not a chess match out there, it's more like tic-tac-toe. The Ducks haven't had to change their game plan at all.

Honestly. What would ppl at CBS know about hockey? They prolly got some college basketball crank to pick the "brackets."

You picked the Wild? Why?
td_ice 04-16-2007, 06:17 PM Well put this an Eastern Conf. fan in the Ducks respect category.
I have seen plenty of games this year, and the Ducks are the best team in both leagues, imo. (If I was ranking teams I would go 1) Ducks 2) Sharks 3) Buffalo)
That was take before the playoffs started, and I have seen nothing to change so far in Round 1.
You guys can play any style imaginable, and still beat you. I think they are entertaining as well.
You guys are lucky, it is great team to watch.
