3 wins away from an early Tampa exit and OB bringing back the goods. Just sayin.

Pwnasaurus 04-12-2007, 10:46 PM Indeed although they would frighten me tremendously in a cup final, I think they are the best team in the East AINEC. Kick Save 04-13-2007, 06:18 PM Indeed although they would frighten me tremendously in a cup final, I think they are the best team in the East AINEC. Although Brodeur probably is the best netminder in the NHL---as much as I hate to admit it---I still think Buffalo's the best team. Obviously, as we all know, though, a hot goaltender can carry you through the playoffs. Randall Graves* 04-13-2007, 07:02 PM What pick would we get if they go out? it would be between 16-20 I think..I love LeCavalier so I won't cheer against them..but won't bother me if they bow out vs the Devils either. Shanker 04-13-2007, 07:20 PM As a Ducks fan, this is a "no lose" series for me (as opposed to the cliche of a no-win situation). If the Devils win, the Ducks get a higher draft pick in the first round. However, I'd also love to see the Devils and Lou Lamoriello go out in the first round. Lamoriello treats his employees like crap, and I don't want to see him continue to be successful because of it. I think we've all been in work environments where there was a manager who was highly successful, but everyone hated the guy...and in the NHL, Lamoriello is that guy. Lou is arguablly the best GM, if not, one of the best GMs in Hockey . From what i read, he is widely respected throughout the league, and most importantly, he gets the respect of the players too. I mean if you think of it, why would Lou fire Julien during the strech run at the end of the season? I can only think its because the players supported him. Sure i agree there is little or no job security if ones a coach for Lou, but he gets results. I still like Brian Burke more though. They remind me very much of the recent Ottawa teams that have bowed out early. Time will tell. iLau 04-15-2007, 12:14 AM Still 3 wins away... existentialx 04-15-2007, 03:35 AM I respectfully disagree, I think Buffalo is clearly built for the regular season. They remind me very much of the recent Ottawa teams that have bowed out early. Time will tell. I don't think that's true about Buffalo. They went deep into the playoffs last year with 4 AHL'ers playing defense. They were as close to the SCF round as the Ducks were, in fact. I think they're the team we're going to have to beat to take the cup this year. Pwnasaurus 04-15-2007, 10:29 PM I think they're the team we're going to have to beat to take the cup this year. I hope you're right Spankatola Jamnuts 04-15-2007, 11:06 PM Agreed. We could handle Buffalo fairly easily IMO. Not so much New Jersey. Regardless, no matter the circumstances, I can't bring myself to root for the Devils. I just hate them too much. BraveSirRobin 04-16-2007, 02:58 AM Regardless, no matter the circumstances, I can't bring myself to root for the Devils. I just hate them too much. Same here. I know it would bring us a higer draft pick if TB loses, but I just can't cheer for New Jersey. Go Bolts. Davey Duck 04-16-2007, 09:31 PM Damn you Broduer. You stop us from getting the Cup in 03. And now you are potentially making us have a worse 1st next year. After thinking about it, I agree. I just can't root for the Devils. Plus, the Lightning are just too dang fun to watch to not like them. So much talent. Lightning take a 2-1 series lead. :) Jerky Leclerc 04-16-2007, 10:24 PM I'm not too worried about that 1st round pick. I rather focus on the Canuck-Stars series. It would be nice to play the Canucks and let Detroit fight Nash/SJ for the next round. Let's go Canucks! Buck Naked 04-16-2007, 11:06 PM I'm not too worried about that 1st round pick. Uhhg I don't know if my heart can handle another low scoring series with an allstar goalie. snarktacular 04-17-2007, 12:00 AM Think of it this way. You don't have to root for the Devils. You're rooting for the team that has your draft pick to lose. After the series you wouldn't care less if the Devils go any further. Lyons71 04-17-2007, 12:11 AM Screw the devils. Odds are we would have to go through at least two of them to even make the Finals. And what's with all this Finals talk? Don't you people believe in karma? Unclean! Ya I know, I just hate Vancouvers style of play. I think most people are just expressing who they are rooting for in the east, not who they want to play in the finals. Ducksforcup 04-21-2007, 03:31 AM Well, the Devs have a 3-2 series lead now with a strong 3-0 win yesterday. Can't say that I am jumping for joy, but it is a win-win situation for most Duck fans. :D BraveSirRobin 04-21-2007, 04:32 AM Not for me. I hope the Bolts take the next two games. Randall Graves* 04-21-2007, 05:09 AM just curious what pick would we get if Tampa gets eliminated? does the NHL go by point total to decide which team picks where when they are knocked out? Jerky Leclerc 04-22-2007, 04:07 PM Tampa is eliminated. Ducks should draft #16. :handclap: Ducksforcup 04-22-2007, 04:08 PM Tampa is eliminated. It's not like anyone has sold their house to bet on Devils' demise. McDonald19 04-23-2007, 12:52 AM 16th overall pick sounds good to me. Too bad this isn't considered a strong draft. | ||
