Although Brodeur probably is the best netminder in the NHL---as much as I hate to admit it---I still think Buffalo's the best team. Obviously, as we all know, though, a hot goaltender can carry you through the playoffs.

What pick would we get if they go out? it would be between 16-20 I think..I love LeCavalier so I won't cheer against them..but won't bother me if they bow out vs the Devils either.

As a Ducks fan, this is a "no lose" series for me (as opposed to the cliche of a no-win situation).

If the Devils win, the Ducks get a higher draft pick in the first round.

However, I'd also love to see the Devils and Lou Lamoriello go out in the first round. Lamoriello treats his employees like crap, and I don't want to see him continue to be successful because of it. I think we've all been in work environments where there was a manager who was highly successful, but everyone hated the guy...and in the NHL, Lamoriello is that guy.

Not too sure about that. Lou is arguablly the best GM, if not, one of the best GMs in Hockey . From what i read, he is widely respected throughout the league, and most importantly, he gets the respect of the players too. I mean if you think of it, why would Lou fire Julien during the strech run at the end of the season? I can only think its because the players supported him. Sure i agree there is little or no job security if ones a coach for Lou, but he gets results. I still like Brian Burke more though.

I respectfully disagree, I think Buffalo is clearly built for the regular season. They remind me very much of the recent Ottawa teams that have bowed out early. Time will tell.

I don't think that's true about Buffalo. They went deep into the playoffs last year with 4 AHL'ers playing defense. They were as close to the SCF round as the Ducks were, in fact. I think they're the team we're going to have to beat to take the cup this year.

Think of it this way. You don't have to root for the Devils. You're rooting for the team that has your draft pick to lose. After the series you wouldn't care less if the Devils go any further.

Ya I know, I just hate Vancouvers style of play. I think most people are just expressing who they are rooting for in the east, not who they want to play in the finals.

Well, the Devs have a 3-2 series lead now with a strong 3-0 win yesterday.

Can't say that I am jumping for joy, but it is a win-win situation for most Duck fans. :D
