Pick-Up Game Idea for Duck Fans

I have not posted here in quite some time! I was reading the thread about starting a roller hockey team, not sure if this needed a new thread or not. But I was inquiring if some fellow Duck Fans would like to get a pick-up game going in the greater Orange County area within the next month or two. Be it ice or roller, I know at LGK they have gatherings for pick-up games for ice and roller, just thought it would be cool if we all get together and have some fun. Anyways cheers and here’s to the Ducks kicking a** in the playoffs.

Is this for beginners too? I played a little roller hockey years ago when I was like 10, but nothing recently. I'm also a bit small for hockey (size, not age) and I have a friend or two that would play. If it's just for fun for people of all experiences, I'd like to go. I haven't had a chance to try roller blading since I messed up my ankle a year+ ago... I'm curious to see how it holds up.

Its for everyone no matter what skill, it's just for fun and to celebrate the team we all love (Da Ducks).

I'm cool with roller, so it looks like 4 or 5 people depending on lwvs84 friends. But we need some people to rent a rink for an hour or two. So come on people, also if anybody has a Allducks.com ID feel free to ask them. The more people people we get the cheaper it is to rent out the rink. Cheers.

maybe we should start a poll or something on weather it should be ice or roller, to me it doesn't matter I play both! It would make sense the choice should be which one would draw more people to come out and play.

It'll prolly be roller...although I'd prefer ice. But my roller blades don't work anymore and I can't be dropping a couple bills on skates to just play once.

If it's ice I might be up for it (I live in San Bernardino so it's sort of far for me to drive). I'm a goalie so you'd have someone to shoot at. Roller hockey maybe, my skates are missing a wheel and I'd have to find all my roller gear.

I'd play either roller or ice. Where would people meet to play though? I'd think somewhere north of Anaheim would be the best place for those who don't live in Orange County.

All those interested in pickup games might want to check out KXhockey.com

They organize local pickup games and can always use more skaters. Some of the talent is pretty good also.

If you still live out here, I'm up for meeting in town somewhere. I'm terrible with directions. Also if anyone else lives near the Antelope Valley, I wouldn't mind car pooling.

It could be anywhere in reasonable distance for the pickup game, I don't mind driving 45min to play.

I might be able to take the other goal if I can find all my pads and someone has a spare mask... I don't think a paintball mask would be good against a puck.

I'd be in for some pick up hockey. Either roller or ice - is this plan still in the works?

So it looks like more people want to play roller more than ice. So paul kryrrhea you think those people that want to play at C2C would play the pick-up game?

Is there an age limit to this stuff? I played all through high school ice and roller and had been playing pick up ice games until I moved back to California. Been thinking about playing again recently. I'm 22 by the way.

I could do that. I would be stoked to play this summer. I would have to filter out the talkers( my friends) and find out who's for real.

Sound good, I'll play any kind of hockey. I think a few of them would, 4-5 i guess. The small group i play w/ are age 20-27 and range form begginers(most of them) to a little more then decent. I have a set of ragged goalie gear, too. My name is luke. if anyone interested in a friendly pick up game, you could email me at lukefa83@yahoo.com. so we can set it up.

i could play brass+ to bronze S, which is intermediate and intermediate+, so if your looking to go into one of those leagues (both sunday afternoon leagues) i'd definitely be down.

The title of the e-mail will say "The Juice HF pickup" so you know its not spam or anything. But I hope people are e-mailing you for a pickup game for roller, cheers.

Also Yesterday i found out that my fiannce is expecting. We'll see in awhile, i mean the league.:) I don't think i got the email? Maybe i deleted it:cry:

KXHockey.com has Anaheim Hockey Club rented out for 2 hours on May 12th at noon. They run 16 skaters max for roller games so everybody gets their share of skating in. There are still 13 spots open, the site is mostly full of Ducks and Kings fans so you guys would be more than welcome. We try to do 1 ice and 1 roller game a month but roller players seem to be harder to find, we could defintely use you guys.
