Anaheim Duck Fan Post-Season Wagon

OK, lets see who all is driving on the Anaheim Duck train now. Everyone sign in if you are! This is more of a formality than anything. I already know the Duck fans on this board. But, I thought it would be kind of neat to have this thread to see how big we can get it; plus this includes any Duck sympathizers as well. :)

I thought about it and did some research... The Ducks have the most Canadian players of any of the playoff teams and I'm also a huge fan of their style of play. I always played hockey without any fear of dropping the gloves and therefore I'm requesting a temporary adoption as a Duck fan for the playoffs.

The sole problem I can see with this situation is that I am in Nova Scotia and therefore the time difference is pretty extreme, however I'm willing to lose some sleep to watch the Ducks win the cup.

As a bonus, I've met J.S. Giguere a few times and he was a really cool guy.

Absolute rubbish. They showed a Ducks game earlier in the year, but they don't seem to like teams from the West. Recently they've had an obsession with showing Philly and Carolina - not the sort of games you wanna stay up till 4 in the morning to watch.

Yup. I went with a friend of mine who's a huge Minny fan. Oddly enough, we sat beside 2 more Minny fans by chance. So it was a 4 some, me being the only Ducks fan, but it was all good :)

I still have my towel. I hope to make it to a game in Round 2. The fans at Honda Center are great. Much better than those at the Stapler Factory. Unfortunately, being in Santa Clarita, it's kind of a long way to Anaheim.

Well, sorta!!! I'm glad that you'll get Vancouver for the 2nd round. Luongo is great, but you guys have offense, defense, and goaltending. Hopefully San Jose and Detroit beat eachother up and you guys can take them out if you win against Vancouver like you should. The Oilers were horrid this year, by your team making the Finals we can get one last piece to the Pronger deal, a conditional 1st round pick. Thus far the deal has been lop-sided in your favor, hopefully in a few years it'll get closer. Best of luck getting to the Finals for your sake and ours!!!

I pray Anaheim beats the Canucks. I'm getting tired of walking around and seeing ppl driving with Canucks flags. I also HATE the taunting and harassment/abuse I willl be taking everytime Canucks win. Plus the further Nucks go, the more I'm getting taxed because of the extra police patrolling

Since my Rangers are done for the year I'll be rooting for my 2nd favorite team the Ducks. Good luck guys, you guys have one of the fastest, best goal scoring, best defense, and best goaltending, well besides King Henrik :) of anyone out there. I'd love to see a Anaheim/ Ottawa final with you guys coming out on top. Good luck.

I realize this probably didn't need a thread of its own, But the Ducks are IMO the only way to salvage the finals this year from being a complete bust like in the past 2 years.

I don't know how you guys feel about Buffalo or if you would have rather had Ottawa in the SCF's... I just want you to know I personally have been pulling for the Ducks in the West all year, and I’m still pulling for ya now just as much if not more. And i'm sure alot of other hockey fans in Buffalo are as well... Neither the Wings or the Sens Deserve the cup as much as you guys...

Leafs fan here, I am definitely a Ducks fan for this one. I will die before I ever cheer for the Ottawa Senators, I could careless if they are from Canada, Anaheim has players from Canada too, so I say, whats the difference! GO :ducks GO!

Anaheim is a suburb of LA. Suburbs of LA spread very far. In fact my hometown Rancho Cucamonga is considered a suburb of LA. Anaheim is about 35 miles from LA. They are definitely neighbors that's for sure.

To those who are confused about Anaheim and Los Angeles: like everyone else said, they are neighbors and such. They are located in different counties (Anaheim in OC and LA in LA).

I hadn't posted to HFBoards in a bit-- had to catch up on the work I fell behind on during the playoff run.

I thought I better get on the 'wagon for two reasons, plus a "ringer" third reason:

1. The enemy of my enemy is my friend

2. A good number of my friends from the Buffalo area are in California, including several in SoCal. I don't have any friends in Ottawa that I know of.

3. Christopher Neal. That would be reason enough, I think.

A few thousand posts, and a season seat on the Kings train since 1975 (with time off for good behaviour) but the last three Duck playoff runs have been worth the 110 mile round trip drive from the San Fernando Valley. I love this team with all my heart, and I know most Kings fans don't understand how I can do it, but honestly, I grew up in NYC and had no problem when the Isles became a powerhouse and the chants of Nineteen Forty went up game in and game out.

If I lived closer, I'd be there more often, but gas prices, time on the 210 and such easy access to Staples will have me seeing more Kings games than Ducks games over the course of 07-08, but I can wear my Perry, my Pronger or whichever one I choose to buy next and know that I do it because good hockey turns me on, and you can't get better than the hockey that is played by the Stanley Cup champions.

For all you guys that suffered through a decade of tragedy, congratulations. There's a few thousand fans that have suffered through four of those with similar results. May their drought end soon, but not until the cup is defended and hopefully kept in Anaheim next season (he said, putting the cart WAY before the horse.)
