Zherdev wants to play for UKR

Nikolai Zherdev's agent, Alexander Tyzhnyh, has let it be known that Nikolai wishes to "put on a yellow-dark blue sweater of a national command of Ukraine."

The Ukrainian Hockey Federation has confirmed that talks between both sides have indeed taken place.

However, Nikolai cannot represent Ukraine at these World Championships in Moscow in 19 days.

The Ukrainian Hockey Federation is willing to activate a long negotiating process that is necessary for bringing in Nikolai, and also Anton Babchuk into the Ukrainian NT.

Nikolai Zherdev and possibly Anton Babchuk hope to play for Ukraine in 2008. If their respected NHL teams are knocked out of the playoff scene they could make their debut in Canada for the 2008 World Championships.

so much hate and all for nothing, as he denied he ever said that. Moreover I don't even want him on the team, he's not consistan and his heart is not in the game of hockey at all.
