The Ducks wanted to send Brent down for a couple weeks, but were very hesitant because of waiver rules limiting the number of times a player can be recalled or reassigned.

Because Marchant's abdomen flared up again, they could send Brent to Portland and recall Hartigan under emergency conditions.....If Marchant can play....Hartigan could be back in Portland by Monday of next week unless Portland is booted from playoff contention.
