I would just like to see us out-work an opponent, play good defense and get 25 to 30shots on goal. Maybe that's a lot to ask for, but that's what I would like to see, win or lose.

The Devils can't rely on beating Toronto with only skill with Elias and Gionta out. Not that they should do that with those two in the line up. The Devils really need to outwork their opponents for 60 minutes. Win the battles on the boards, win races to the puck, etc. Those cliches about winning the small battles aren't false, in my opinion. The Devils didn't do that at all at home against Boston, Pittsburgh, and Carolina this month; and it snowballed to bad losses. Hopefully, they will play with fire tonight, work the Leafs to the bone, and perhaps they'll build up their own momentum to win the game.

Class will prevent me from seeing this, so I will be sitting in a room wishing that the Devils are pounding the snot out of Toronto on the scoreboard. GO DEVILS!

I'm glad I wasn't able to watch that Sat. game, as I would've surely been embarrassed as well. I'm hoping for a solid game tonight and nothing too scary such as people getting hit too cheapshotly because of what happened to Kaberle. I'm also hoping the Devils come out with energy and Marty will definitely bring his A game considering he doesn't go on bad streaks after a bad loss.

Sad to hear about Elias and Madden being out again, but they should be given as much time as possible to recover and be %100 when they come back to the ice. We really need to pick it up as the over-rated Pens are catching us fast. Hopefully with their loss last night we can help them out and push them down.

I almost agree with these line combos for tonight's game.

The only change I would make is that I would have Pelley on the 3rd line instead of Dowd. That way, we have a guy who can drop 'em on each line if need be tonight.

Considering Belak is 6 ft 5 220 and Janssen 5"11 210 and the fight was quite even I would certainly have to give it to Cam

here is my recap, cam stays at arms length and belak essentially punches himself out landing nothing, cam goes in tight throws a bunch, belak bobs and misses most, gets hit with a few, lands a couple. i would give a slight technical edge to cam, but neither got his ass kicked.

Before this game is over...either Oduya or Clarkson lays a beating on Tucker.

And Janssen will take out Belak with a major hit to start things up again.

From the other angle his stick actually went past the puck and the puck didn't move backwards. His stick must have swiped right over it, no doubt it should have been a call.

Just saw a replay. Wow, he ****ing tripped Pando with his ****ing arm. As a ref, if you don't know for sure if he hit the puck or not, but he takes his leg out, you gotta call a ****ing penalty.

Just watched the replay a couple of times on TiVo...it was very close...tough to say if he got his skate first or the puck...you usually expect a call on that type of play (especially since I thought the interference call on Clarkson was a bit borderline), but I can live with the non-call. Might've just been a hell of a defensive play.

Actually, I just watched that replay now (originally went back on TiVo after end of 1st) - that one makes it really makes it look like there should have been a penalty. It doesn't even look like the Toronto player touched the puck (which Pandolfo also said in the interview).

Whatever. What's done is done. Should've been called, but wasn't necessarily a blatant non-call on the refs part. I don't want to be like most other fanbases and start blaming losses on the refs.

We'll get some sort of "even-up" call from the refs later in the game... Its just how things work.
