I know nothing about the kid, but NJDevils18 did say this in the Lowell Devils Thread:

According to theahl.com Lowell signed right wing Brad Mills. This year he was a senior at Yale and posted 2 goals and 6 assists in 20 games. Last year he had 16 points in 22 games. I would assume this is to fill in the gap for Clarkson or Pelley.
