What the hell are they going to do? Two more guys go down with groin injuries, and we don't have space to call anyone up.......what happens if the Devils are two forwards short?? Do they forfeit?

They probably aren't injured enough to qualify for LTIR (where we can replace their salary). Gionta has missed something like 11 of the last 12 games, he only played a period in the twelfth. But that period restarted the clock on the "must miss 10 games and 24 days" requirement for LTIR. Also he needs to shoot more. Yesterday he had a few nice chances, see what happens Gomez when you shoot? Just double shift a bunch of guys. I like the top three lines, but if we're going to be double shifting guys, Ras, Dowd, and Rupp are at the end of my list. The 4th liners are already getting their minutes upped...because they're first and third liners now.
