Devils Playoff Schedule

Does anyone know how the NHL schedules the playoff games?
Last year on the first day of the playoffs, the NHL had the 1vs 8 in both conferences play on the first day.

I want to know because I have classes on April 11th and I am going to get playoff tickets for either game 1 or 2 of the first round.

I don't know if they release any of that info before the playoffs.

I don't think it is pre-determined because a lot of it depends on arena availability, especially when a given team shares an arena with an NBA team.
