mikelynaugh 03-11-2007, 03:11 AM Hey guys,
My name is Mike Lynaugh and I am one of the photographers that gets to cover the Buffalo Sabres. I actually grew up in Jersey (Manalapan) and used to go to Devils games back in the '80s when I was living there. Anyways, I was at tonight's game and I thought you guys might enjoy seeing some of my photos from the game. Feel free to leave me comments here or email me at mike@mikelynaugh.com I enjoy hearing what fans have to say about my work. Also, if you notice any errors in the captions, please let me know and I will fix it as soon as possible. Thanks and enjoy!

It's funny, I had a 50/50 shot at that one...figures I'd guess wrong. I couldn't tell if it was a 23 or 28. Thanks for the compliment too....I was between 103 & 104 for the 1st & 3rd, and 106 & 107 for the 2nd period. Were you there?

Meth Elvis 03-11-2007, 10:19 PM Thanks for the link, those are some amazing pictures. Also picture IMG_5194.jpg says Zajac & Campbell, when its Parise and Campbell.
Someone explain to me where this "ZZ Pop" crap came from please.
mikelynaugh 03-11-2007, 11:03 PM Thanks again everyone! And thanks SouthernDevil, I just fixed that caption. I appreciate that!
crashlanding 03-11-2007, 11:09 PM Thanks for the link, those are some amazing pictures. Also picture IMG_5194.jpg says Zajac & Campbell, when its Parise and Campbell.
It is Zajac, I almost made the same mistake...I had the reply window up and everything, but you can see on his left arm a little bit of the '1' in '19'.

"The nickname floating around the dressing room for the Devils' second line with 22-year-old Zach Parise, 21-year-old Travis Zajac and 31-year-old Langenbrunner is ZZ Pop, although no one would take credit."
mikelynaugh 03-11-2007, 11:17 PM So I was right? I thought I saw that piece of 1. Should I switch it back?
mikelynaugh 03-11-2007, 11:19 PM I was just looking at the full resolution, and it's definetly #19. Thanks guys!
crashlanding 03-11-2007, 11:21 PM I was just looking at the full resolution, and it's definetly #19. Thanks guys!
It was pretty tough because on the right arm it looks like a clear #9. I was trying to find a definitive way to tell the difference between the two but they seem to have pretty close to the same equipment as well.
mikelynaugh 03-11-2007, 11:23 PM Thanks! I agree with you, it's definetly 19
JerryGigantic 03-12-2007, 04:40 AM Someone explain to me where this "ZZ Pop" crap came from please.
Z (Zach) Z (Zajac) Pop (Langs, as he is the "old man" on the line, and has kids...). Allegedly coined by Brian Gionta, but he laughs it off when asked about it.
option 03-12-2007, 05:20 AM As an amatuer photographer, I have to say I'm extremely jealous. You have some amazing opportunities that most of us can only dream about. I'll have to look through the rest of your stuff tomorrow, its gettin pretty late now...
Z (Zach) Z (Zajac) Pop (Langs, as he is the "old man" on the line, and has kids...). Allegedly coined by Brian Gionta, but he laughs it off when asked about it.
Sounds like a Hanson song, just replace the Mmmm... with a snore.
Meth Elvis 03-12-2007, 05:51 PM Thanks! I agree with you, it's definetly 19
I see it now, thing is when I first saw the picture even before i looked at the # on the uniform I thought it was wrong because it looked like Parise to me and not Zajac. Even looking at it now Zajac's face in the picture reminds me of Parise for some reason. Oh well sorry for making you do extra work for no reason.
Marty's Bread Basket 03-12-2007, 06:36 PM Z (Zach) Z (Zajac) Pop (Langs, as he is the "old man" on the line, and has kids...). Allegedly coined by Brian Gionta, but he laughs it off when asked about it.
Actually, during one of the games Doc said a fan thought of it and got it from a band called ZZ Top.
bense27 03-12-2007, 07:26 PM you guys seriously couldn't tell that it was Zajac just by the fact that he is right handed and Parise is left?
TaiMaiShu 03-12-2007, 07:38 PM Nice Pics!
Devilswede 03-12-2007, 09:07 PM you guys seriously couldn't tell that it was Zajac just by the fact that he is right handed and Parise is left?
I agree...:) These guys can't be serious right? You can clearly tell by the face and also by him being right handed. I'd never make that mistake, especielly not when it's so obvious...
Meth Elvis 03-12-2007, 10:47 PM Well it was just a quick glance and i didn't even think to look what handed he was. I live in Florida, i don't get to see many games on TV or get to go to any games.:( Plus I'm to busy with school to gaze into Zach's eyes like some of you.
JerryGigantic 03-13-2007, 04:56 AM Actually, during one of the games Doc said a fan thought of it and got it from a band called ZZ Top.
The nickname is clearly a riff on the band name ZZ TOP. The rumor going around was that Gio thought of it...but perhaps not. But it has seemed to stick.
