My fully healthy lineup suggestion if we got Comrie

McDonald Fedorov Chistov\Lupul
Prospal Comrie Sykora
LeClerc Rucchin Niedermayer
Krog Pahlsson Lupul\Chistov

Maybe take Krog or Pahlsson out depending on if an enforcer is needed, or a big body like Ward. And whoever is playing greasier out of Lupul and Chistov gets first line duty.

Loops or Cheese won't go down to the fourth. One will get sent down.

Here's my fully healthy lines:

McDonald-Fedorov-Lupul
Prospal-Comrie-Sykora
Leclerc-Rucchin-Niedermayer
Pahlsson-Krog-Bylsma

Chistov gets sent down, so he can tear it up in Cincy.

LeClerc-Fedorov-Comrie
Sykora-Rucchin-Lupul
Nieds-Prospal-Chistov
Krog-Bylsma-Burnett/Ward

Extras:
AndyMac (can replace anyone in the top9 in case of injuries)
Pahlsson (who cares?)
Johnson (2-way contract, bye bye)

don't agreew ith that, pahlson and any mac are two of hardest workers.

I'd like to keep the checking line

Leclerc-Ruchin-Niedermayer

and comrie would look good with

Prospal-Comrie-Sykora

and the top line of

MacDonald-Federov-Lupul

then a checking line of Korg-Pahlson-and whoever...

But i'm still worried about not enough beef in the lineup... if we can trade for a top power forward, I'd love those lines...

if we got comrie, we could trade Chistov and Vish for a nice PF... say for a struggling Jeff O'neil?

McDonald is playing much better than Chistov...you must be crazy...

Chistov goes to Cincy if we get Comrie....Babcock even said the other day that Cincy is definetly an option for Chistov if he doesnt start playing better. And saying who cares about Pahlsson is dumb too...he has been playing well lately...I dont see Bylsma being back in the lineup for 6-8 more weeks...I wouldn't mind seeing Johnson off the team either way...

I'll just ignore some of the obvious....
but Prospal works better on the wing and Comrie is naturally a centre. Krog is a faceoff whiz, so he should be centre, and Bylsma? has he ever played pivot?

Just so we all know: Chistov cannot be sent to the minor without clearing waivers first. I can't imagine no one wanting him... :dunno:

We should never trade Vishnevski. He's hitting again!!

If Babcock said Cincy was an option for him, I doubt he has to clear waivers. Isn't he young enough?

I think it may have to do with the # of games he has played as well.

Was he protected in the waiver draft earlier this year?

Players can go up and down to the minors until they are 23 years old.

Exemptions

The number of years a player is exempt from the Waiver Draft is outlined below. The exemption ends once the player has played in the number of NHL games set forth in the applicable column below.

Goaltenders
Age / Years from NHL signing / NHL GP*
18 / 6 / 80
19 / 5 / 80
20 / 4 / 80
21 / 4 / 60
22 / 4 / 60
23 / 3 / 60
24 / 2 / 60
25+ / 1 / -

Skaters
Age / Years from NHL signing / NHL GP*
18 / 5 / 160
19 / 4 / 160
20 / 3 / 160
21 / 3 / 80
22 / 3 / 70
23 / 3 / 60
24 / 2 / 60
25+ / 1 / -

* 'NHL games played' includes all regular-season and playoff games. A skater who plays in 11 or more NHL games as a 18- or 19-year-old will have his exemption reduced from five and four years, respectively, to three years. A goaltender who plays in 11 or more NHL games as an 18- or 19-year-old will have his exemption reduced from six and five years, respectively, to four years

No I think your wrong there, Chistov can still be sent to the minors without having to clear waivers. Young players dont have to clear waivers until they play so many games. Also obviously since Babcock mentioned the possibility of Chistov going to the minors, then he is smart enough to know that Chistov can be sent there without clearing waivers. And yes if he did have to clear waivers every team would put in a bid and the lowest team in the standings would get Chistov and he would be a Penguin...but luckily that isnt the case yet.

If he doesnt start playing better soon he is going to get some minor league time...particularly when Leclerc returns and Comrie still a possibility and Lupul playing better than Chistov...Chistov will see minor league hockey this year!!!

Yeah Bylsma has played 4th line center when we had less depth.
He centered a tough guy line of Lambert and Sawyer a lot...

Don't worry.. when you guys get Comrie.. He'll get hurt.. doesn't that seem to happen to players that hold out for so long?

I guess it has a lot to do in how well he is conditioning at st. mikes or wherever he is at right now.

He's practising with the Alberta Golden Bears, Stumpy was at St.Mikes.

Because of this, I think should Comrie be traded here, he should be ready for the lineup right away.
