Ronnie Bass 02-15-2007, 12:09 PM With Gionta looking like he will miss some time, I think this is a good time as any to see what Bergfors can bring us, don't know if the cap would make it tough to bring him up but to me he is the logical choice to replace Little G on the A-Line, we could move Brylin up from the checking line but I would hate to break them up and I can't think of anyone else we have who we could fit in with the A-Line, at least not the players we have up now.

Suglobov?
devildan 02-15-2007, 12:12 PM I think that some one would need to go on the LTIR for this to happen...
Suglobov?
You do know we traded him for Ken Klee at the trade deadline last year, right?
bense27 02-15-2007, 12:33 PM Keep Rupp on the first line :yo:
by the way, I am being 85% serious. I thought he did very well last night.
MissionHockey 02-15-2007, 12:37 PM You do know we traded him for Ken Klee at the trade deadline last year, right?
sarcasm
And I agree with bense27, Rupp didn't really look too out of place on the first line. Keep him there until Gionta can get healthy.
devsfan8 02-15-2007, 12:40 PM You do know we traded him for Ken Klee at the trade deadline last year, right?
Another GOOD trade for Lou Lams!!!!
Suglobov sucks doggy dong and Klee was a big part of our 15 game streak that included a first round bitc* slap of the Rags last year.
I agree that Rupp looked decent on the top line, but I would like to see what Bergfors is capable of. However, because of the cap, I'm willing to bet we see Rupp with Gomez and Elias, with the fourth line up Ras-Dowd-Janssen
Devilsfanatic 02-15-2007, 12:49 PM You do know we traded him for Ken Klee at the trade deadline last year, right?
Really? Did you hear we LANDED ON THE MOON?!
DevilsFan38 02-15-2007, 12:53 PM I am pretty sure that we could not fit Bergfors under the cap. If we can, I agree, I'd love to see what he can do. Otherwise I think they should keep Rupp up there.
bense27 02-15-2007, 01:09 PM I was very surprised with Rupp last night to be honest. I think he is a guy we can count on to take anyone's position. Last night they were rotating Dowd and Rupp with Gomez and Gionta but I think they should just leave Dowd on the 3rd line and put Rupp on the first. But I have a feeling Madden will be coming back tomorrow night.
Ronnie Bass 02-15-2007, 01:46 PM Good call on Rupp, he kinda of slipped my mind, if we can't bring up Bergfors I would be happy to see him with Gomez and Elias, love to see how that could work out.
Randal Graves 02-15-2007, 01:48 PM Keep Rupp on the first line :yo:

Agreed. A little sandpaper on that line can create some space for Gomez and Elias.

Blasphemy! You lose my vote.
Tao Jones 02-15-2007, 02:57 PM Really? Did you hear we LANDED ON THE MOON?!
Canada has a space program?;)
TaiMaiShu 02-15-2007, 02:58 PM Clarkson anyone?
Devilsfanatic 02-15-2007, 03:40 PM Blasphemy! You lose my vote.
What's blasphemous? I was quoting Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber.....sheesh, what's with the lack of movie knowledge?
Americans 02-15-2007, 03:50 PM Bergfors fits perfectly with Gomez and Elias. I hope he work and practise hard for this.
psukan 02-15-2007, 04:01 PM So did Bergfors get recalled then? Just checking.

I'm sorry if I don't have that cinematic gem memorized by now, I will go rent Without a Paddle and watch it 10 times this weekend as punishment.
oh, and both my original message and this one were being sarcastic. Perhaps this :sarcasm: was necessary :)
Rochester22 02-15-2007, 04:51 PM Bergfors fits perfectly with Gomez and Elias. I hope he work and practise hard for this.
Bergfors seems more like a playmaker than sniper. Im not sure i we need another playmaker on the 1st line.
JMHO

How can someone fit perfectly with players he's never played with before, in a league that he hasn't played one game in?
Devilsfanatic 02-15-2007, 05:03 PM Hey, there's a lurker named "IamSancho" reveal yourself so I may congratulate you on such an awesome name.

he's more of a sniper - especially if he's got very good playmakers around him ( which the devils have ).
but yeah, the kid can distribute the puck also.
Jared Ramsden 02-15-2007, 05:59 PM If Gio can't go tommorow and they can somehow find a way to call him up, I'm all for seeing Bergfors in action, especially since I'll be able to watch the game on TSN:yo:

Where is Sancho? All I can keep thinking about is Orgazmo! What do you mean what do I do? I am.......Sancho

I think you just scared him off now. :p:
John Druce 02-17-2007, 01:51 PM No offence guys, but Bergfors is not ready for the NHL.
Great prospect. Tenacious. In fact his style kind of reminds me of Parise. BUT, after watching Bergfors at the WJC's in Sweden this past year, it was evident that he needs time to develop. If he gets called up now, he'll merely be an up-and-down winger who shoots from wherever/whenever. His speed is down from what it usually is because he put on too much weight in the gym (IMHO). He needs to slim down and concentrate on the offensive skills. I know his PPG are up from his first season in the AHL and all, but if you saw what I saw you would understand that the kid needs time (or a shot of confidence at least). Who knows, maybe a call up to the NHL would give him that shot of confidence, but I don't think so. And putting him on the 1st line is a little too much to ask as well.
