Dunno. The stats (souray leads team in points, goals) suggest that Montreal is a so-so team at even-strength that lives and dies off of its outstanding special teams play. If we stay out of the box, like we usually do, we win. Thoughts?

Why does Madden not wear a visor? I know he has said that he can't see in it but I find that hard to understand. Sure it will get nics and scratches but i'm sure NHL players use a new one every couple games.

I wonder if Brodeur sent Les Habs a valentine that reads: "I Love It When You're Around." Brodeur is SOLID against Montreal and the Devils are coming off a bad game. If anyone is going to have a big game tonight, it's going to be Harty Brodeur.

In any case, the Devils need to score quickly and often to demoralize Les Habs. While they didn't equalize, they dropped 16 shots in the third last night on Florida as the Panthers held on for a 1-0 win last night. I don't think the Devils would be as lucky if they just held on to close leads. Let's blow the game open early and make it easier for the Devils to win later on. GO DEVILS~!

I never take any team lightly no matter of their standings. We've lost several times to teams in the lowests standings several times. So if Montreal has'nt beaten us in a while, then that means their time is coming soon to win.

And about the Pens, they are doing damn good as of late. I'd be very concerned about them right now if we wish to maintain lead in our division.

I think the top two lines will see a lot of ice if Dowd can't shadow Koivu.

I think that should be the plan anyway. While its tough to limit Pando's icetime and role just because Madden is out, I would be more comfortable pitting fire vs. fire in this game a.k.a trying to match up EGG and PZL against MTL's top two lines. I think Carbo will try to match Bonk against EGG, so Julien should try to avoid that IMO.

were 2-7 in our last 9 games and have only 8 wins since December 23rd..that combined with playing against Brodeur who just eats the Habs alive, i dont like our chances..come over to the Habs board.. im not the only one.

The habs SUCK lately. The media here is going A-WALL on the team saying they won't make the playoffs, they need a MAJOR trade, they should bench Kovalev, Koivu is overated... just you're typical *****ing from the MTL media. It's so weird that when they were on hot streak in the beginig of the season, they had newspapers putting up on the front page "MTL is one of the ELITE teams in the NHL and are bound for the cup".... and now they're saying they won't make the playoffs.

It doesn't matter who covers Koivu, because any of our first 3 lines can matchup against they're top line right now.

I think it may be like helmets, when you wear more protection, opposing players care less for your wellbeing, unconciously of course.

Ever seen those jerseys and helmets with the red stop sign on the back? The argument behind those was that since the player appears to be so well protected, you can take more dangerous hits on them because they will be ok. The signs are designed to make the checkers think before they act.. which seems to be working somewhat.

It was also brought up when helmets were made mandatory, and look how many boarding calls we've had since then. It's alot harder to mentally bring yourself to ramming a guy's head into the boards when he has no helmet on.

All that being said, visors should still be mandatory.

They lost 1-0 to Florida last night. We should be able to win this one.

Everyone is on his ass this year. Him and Samsonov get it from the press daily. The point most people make is that they never keep him on one line so that he can gel with his wingers, nor has he seen any significant ice time with Koivu, and after him, there are no other offensive centers in Montreal now that Ribiero(sp?) is gone.

Nothing is ever sure in sports. The Habs are a good team, they have a good chance of beating us. This isn't the Pens of the last few years we're talking about, we're talking about Montreal who has a good team.

This is a big game for both teams. The Devils need to get the points and back to their winning ways on home ice. As for Montreal, they look like there about to fold and that makes them desperate and deaperate teams scare me. omg... I thought it was just me. Ever since St. Louis and on, hes been horrible post to post, and gets out of position, which leads to given up more goals. Wrap arounds especially... And yes, i realize hes had a shutout, but overall, hes not playing like his earlier self. Maybe the All Star game did something to his confidence, or maybe playing so many consecutive games, is taking it's toll.

You know, I really won't miss Raffy if he walks away in July...it will open that little extra cash Lou needs to sign Gomez. The Devs have a pretty good corps of young D-men coming along. The only other person I'd like to see take a hike is White. I've never been a fan of his.

I don't think White is worth 3 mil. He would be the only core player I'd trade. I don't see him getting too much better than he is now. Rafalski is a keeper though, I would miss him if he left.

It's a 5 on 3 though. I'd be really worried if he didn't make the good pass. Nobody wants Patty to succeed more than me but he needs to use his speed more and trust his shot. It may be semantics, but we're a first place team and 2nd place in the conference. We don't have THAT many complaints.
