What do you guys think of the threat now of the pens, pushing to win the division, currently 7 points back?

Can they do it? Of course. Will they do it, doubtful. We all knew the Pens would be a good team in the future, but i was thinking another year or two. Not sure if the Pens are playing over their head right now or are really a pretty damn good team.

We meet them soon... We'll see. The Devils are no pushovers either.

While the Pens are trying to catch up with the Devs... their ambitions are slightly higher... AKA, catching Buffalo, winning the Presidents Trophy, and the Stanley Cup.

I kind of hope they do catch us. Maybe it will light a fire under them for the playoffs.

The Penguins have been playing really well, so they can't be discounted. They are not a one-man team.

Something even more exciting is the fact that the Devils are only six points behind Buffalo for the best record in the NHL, and New Jersey has two games-in-hand.

I dont care where we land, Playoffs are playoffs, a whole new season and it would be nice to be in them for once in a while, but i'll be really really really p***ed off if we play you

Of course the Penguins could catch the Devils, but I don't see it happening. I think after last year the Devils probably know that no lead is safe and they'll be playing hard the rest of the way as they chase Buffalo.

I don't see that happening, at least not in the first round.

The top three teams in the Atlantic have lost two regular time games in their last 30, and one of those was the Islanders' loss to the Devils.

Not too shabby.

Pitts Pens are scaring me a bit.... they sure are playing very well and are keeping the Devils on their toes... even marty broduer mentioned how well they are playing and how they keep up to date with everything the Pens are doing. I think the Pens are def for real and are no joke.....they have beaten up on great teams with their young and energetic push towards the playoffs.

Yeh theres no pressure on them to win in the playoffs this year and Fluery can steal a best of 7 from any team. I don't wanna face these guys in the first round.:amazed:

Pens won't keep this pace for long and will come back to earth. I see them finishing around 7-8-9.

Local Pittsburgh radio stations continue to downplay all the earlier talk about how the team needs an enforcer so badly. Last nights game against Toronto added more fuel to the argument that team toughness isn't an issue.
