Devilsfanatic 02-10-2007, 06:45 PM If NHL 07 is any indication, Marty Brodeur will retire in 2010 with a career wins total of 710, 150 shut outs, 7 Stanley Cups, 4 Conn Smythe trophies, a career g.a.a of 2.13, and save percentage of .919
The New Jersey Devils will look like this:
Tanguay-Bergeron-Cheechoo
Vanek-Zajac-Radulov
Semin-Brian Barney (drafted in 2007)-Par Luukkonen (drafted 08)
Wolski-Parise-Chad Petersen (drafted 09)
Smid-Bouwmeester
Yandle-Barker
Steve Dubinsky (drafted 09)-Brent Seabrook
Matt Ranheim (acquired in trade with Chicago for Peter Budaj FA signing)
Kirk Danner (Drafted 2010)
Will Ranheim pick up Brodeur's slack? Time will tell but he is rated 97 overall already at the age of 21
AfroThunder396 02-10-2007, 06:48 PM That is quite possibly the best professional ice hockey team ever assembled.

So far a stunning debut for the New Jersey Devils of the 2010-2011 era and Ranheim gets his very first career shut out in Brodeurian fashion
TaiMaiShu 02-10-2007, 07:00 PM So why did Parise drop so low?
Devilsfanatic 02-10-2007, 07:04 PM So why did Parise drop so low?
Unfortunately Zach has been hampered by injuries until this point which has limited his progress that's not to say he is useless, but he has been surpassed by other prospects in the system
Here's a look at the center situation in New Jersey (this game has him listed as a C not an LW)
Bergeron (96 overall)
Zajac (88)
Barney (86)
Parise (85)
He's my lowest rated Center, and as such is playing 4th line, but all the lines get equal minutes, not one line dominates over another.
TaiMaiShu 02-10-2007, 07:29 PM By the second year in 07 this was my team:
Elias-Crosby-Kessel

Pandolfo-Madden-Fisher
Boogard-Mcgrattan-Laraque(Slowest Line in the NHL)
Phaneuf-Martin
Suter-Weber
Hale-Ballard
Brodeur

Each year, the Devils from the roster I kept trading because I could upgrade, I've built for speed, no one on my team is slower than 80 overall speed, and overall rating, no one is below 80, the team is just under the salary cap (gotta be like Lou ;)) and the Cap is now at 46.725 million a season. I also have a few studs developing in the minors
Jamie1 02-10-2007, 07:50 PM Amateurs. I made two guys one is 7 foot and 245 pounds the other is 7 foot and 275 pounds and they are both 99's. the first guy is a wing and had 150 points in 45 games I think and the other guy is a Defenseman. I actually can't believe how good Rafalski is he has a nice shot from the point and he can hip check with the best of him he injured like 8 guys. I had to restart over because I traded for a player and my created player I couldn't add him to the lineup he had a little ambulance next to his name but he wasn't injured. Both the guys can hit pretty good I think I intimidate other teams because at first they try to bring the puck into the zone but a few hipchecks they stop doing that. Then they try to dump and chase and that doesn't work either because they get hit also.
ramrod1 02-10-2007, 07:56 PM so if it the end of the Brodeur era does that mean the beginging or Ari Ahonen?
Devilsfanatic 02-10-2007, 08:00 PM so if it the end of the Brodeur era does that mean the beginging or Ari Ahonen?
Nope, Matt Ranheim is the goalie of the future!
ramrod1 02-10-2007, 08:01 PM oh ok just making sure, i got scared there for a second.

Looks like he traded Gomez to get him. I'm pretty much like Lou, I only trade my players out west.
Chico Resch 02-11-2007, 12:15 PM I keep the core of the team (Elias, Gionta, Gomez, Langs, Parise, Zajac, Madden, Pando, Brlyin, Rafi, White, Martin, Oduya, Marty) Together, only the forth line and some defense changes :biglaugh, Untill they retire most of my draft picks wallow away in the minors or get traded.
Hey I won four straight cups 07-10 another one in 12,14,15 (Marty retires) and with Kipper in net we won in 16. I just started the 2017 season with my goalie of the future: Paul Greulich.
My lines look like this as of opening night for the 2016-17 season:
Hamel (2013 draft pick)-Gomez-Gionta
Elias-Zajac-Parise
Healey-Madden-Backstrom
Richer (Guess hes his son :biglaugh:) - Drury (Hes fallen off in his later years, I signed him on a bargain) - Janssen (Cam delevoped into a goal scorer)
Martin-Oduya
Luongo(2015 draft pick)-Phaneuf
Seabrook-White
Gomez, Gionta, Zajac and Parise are all 500+ goal scorers, and Elias scored #600 in the last game of the season.

Brooklyndevil 02-12-2007, 05:09 PM If the Devils are ever due for a bad season and a rebuild, make it 2009. I want John Tavares!

Haha, AO and Crosby are the hardest to get. I had to give up Thornton and a 1st for Sid. I use up all my draft picks every year, so I'm anti-any GM.

haha, I usually trade my first. Then before the draft, I trade the one guy who's around 90 and I can't afford to keep I trade him with a team who finished 10-15 and get their first, then I trade my 1st and 4th for a team that has a pick between 5-10, and then package a 1st and 3rd for the #1 overall pick in the draft. I just draft round 1, 2, 5. Won the cup and drafted 1st overall all four years.

Haha Zach wishes his guy was better in NHL. I agree with him, the NHL Hitz series was the ****. And they play guitar hero, a very fun reflex game.

How did you get Seabrook and BArker from the Hawks? 5 first round picks?
Smid from the oilers?

Barker, Seabrook and Smid are ranked 75, 78 and 77. I got them for Paul Martin 80, Brad Lukowich 75 and a 2nd and Richard Matvichuk + David Hale
3 deals that would never take place in real life, but since this is the realm of NHL 07, I figure hey, do it.

Thats like when I traded Ras, Weimer and a (i think) 2nd rounder for Malkin in my first dynasty. Like that would happen.
