Suppose We Win the Cup this season...Could the Parade be in Newark?

Not to jump the gun and think to far ahead, but it is a topic worth discussing and pondering considering the Devils have a legit chance to win Stanley Cup #4 this year. So if things do all fall into place, is it possible the parade would not be in the CAA lot but instead be in Newark?

This would be a great promotional tool and a great welcome from the city of Newark to the NJ Devils.

At training camp this season I had a friend who spoke with an employee of the CAA. He advised the Devils under no circumstances will play another game or have any affiliation with the NJSEA after this season. Meaning even if Newark was not ready they would play somewhere else temporarily. (I am sure Prudential center will be ready).

I am wondering if the Devils would consider not wanting any part of the CAA and would have their parade down Broad St in Newark to kick off their new era.

I'm not sure where it would be, but I think if a cup is won in CAA, then that’s where the parade should be. I think it would be cool in Newark though.

I like the parkin lot parades over a regular parade.. It's like one giant tailgate.. I'm not big on just watchin people on floats pass me by

I agree with you. But I would take the new situation of Newark and a Parade down a street then the situation we are in now if there was no new arena in site and the ever present danger of the Devils moving.

If the Devils win Cups in Newark there will be no lot parade. It would be a big shindig down Broad St with 200 thousand people.

This would possibly be the last time the CAA sees the Cup. Therefor, the parade should be in the lot!

Future Cups will be paraded in Newark on the street around our arena there.

Oh, heck no. If (and that's a HUGE if) they go on to win it, it would be the final parking lot party. There is no way they'll jump the gun like that. They'd want to end their run at CAA with style, although the NJSEA are a bunch of rip-offs. I loathe a parade anyway. lol

Is there much of a parking lot left with that giant parking garage and all the other construction? I always park at Giants stadium....even with the walk through the cow tunnel, its better than trying to get out of that parking structure afterwards.

I too love the tailgate parties, but it may be a great idea to have it in Newark to officially start the Devils era there.

...but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Yep Bicek.

Why does everything have to be a ticker tape parade type thing?

Leave ticker tape parades to astronauts, kings, real hero's, and self-important entities like the NYR (who have one like once every 100 years)

If we have one more cup party in the parking lot it should end with Lou walking up to a Dynamite Plunger, pushing it down and blowing the swamp sky high, then he kicks the NJSEA guy right in the nads.

I would rather see it in the parking lot. It might make sense in terms of building interest in Newark, but if they win the Cup at the CAA that's where the celebration should be. There'll be plenty of time to have parades in Newark ;)

Now, that's my kind of party!

In 2003 then mayor of Newark James offerd to have the parade in Newark.
