I was watching the end of the game and caught White leaning over in pain. I was hoping my eyes were deceiving me, but then Hale was on the ice in the final 20-30 seconds. Can anyone game shed some light on this? Thanks.

NaChOs 02-08-2007, 10:02 PM meh im sure he's fine. crashlanding 02-08-2007, 10:34 PM I think near the end when Kozlov (?) came in 1 on 2 and took a shot the follow through hit White in the wrist. He'll probably be fine. Cry_Wolf 02-08-2007, 10:50 PM Now that I think about, I don't think I heard White's name/see him towards the end of the game. I think he'll be fine though. fIREnIcE 02-09-2007, 02:21 AM White is a tough guy, hes really gotta be down and out to sit......I do think he is OK but we shall see, plus we dont play again until Sunday. This rest will be good for all of our guys, most of all Marty. crashlanding 02-09-2007, 02:22 AM Now that I think about, I don't think I heard White's name/see him towards the end of the game. I think he'll be fine though. It was with like a minute left in the game. Trade#5 02-09-2007, 04:44 PM Unfortunately he's probably fine. and if he's not, who cares. We played better when he was injured. In my opinion he's overpaid and we can do better with Andy in his spot. David Puddy 02-09-2007, 05:10 PM White was on the ice for the post-game congradulations, and there are not any news reports about an injury, including the columns of The Star-Ledger's Rich Chere and The Record's Tom Gulitti. White skated quite a bit late in the game on the Rafalski penalty, as you can see here on the game's shift chart (http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20062007/SC020824.HTM). The only injury suffered by a Devils player was Scott Clemmensen who got hit in the mouth with Chris Simmon's stick. Clemmensen needed eight stitches, but he should be ready for his next start, which maybe will be next month. I believe that Devilsfan38 posted this (http://www.northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpcnk3ZjczN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXkxMzMmZmdi ZWw3Zjd2cWVlRUV5eTcwNzM3NzQmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZU VFeXk2) in the GDT near the end. Unfortunately he's probably fine. and if he's not, who cares. We played better when he was injured. In my opinion he's overpaid and we can do better with Andy in his spot.Andy can't play his spot. Greene is along the lines of a right defenseman in the Devils system. Colin White is the prototypical left defenseman, a stay-at-home type. The team is also not better without him. The Devils sure could have used a healthy Colin White for the Carolina series last season. jerseydevil 02-09-2007, 05:36 PM Unfortunately he's probably fine. and if he's not, who cares. White has become so disciplined and his shot blocking ability is second to none. He is a solid defenseman and is worth every penny of $3 million a year. David Puddy 02-11-2007, 01:31 AM In the notes section of Rich Chere's article "Matvichuk hopes for no move (http://www.nj.com/devils/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1171172285136630.xml&coll=1)," Chere writes the following: Lamoriello said Colin White, who did not practice, was resting. Coach Claude Julien said the defenseman would play today against the Lightning. Chere also added that Brodeur will make his 26th consecutive start. The Devils could have a really solid blueline for the playoffs with: White-Rafalski Oduya-Martin Matvichuk-Lukowich Hale, Greene I hope so. I really hope he comes back and kicks some major ass! Especially in playoffs! But I'd like him to play some regular season games to be ready. TheDevilMadeMe 02-11-2007, 04:04 AM I expect Matvichuk to come back with a few weeks left in the regular season. By then, his cap space should be low enough to fit and he'll have enough time to get ready for the playoffs. crashlanding 02-11-2007, 05:26 AM I expect Matvichuk to come back with a few weeks left in the regular season. By then, his cap space should be low enough to fit and he'll have enough time to get ready for the playoffs. Matvichuk will not play in the regular season unless there's an long term injury to a regular making more than him or unless there's a move made. I detailed the situation in the salary cap thread that's stickied. NJD00 02-14-2007, 08:30 PM Looks as though my fears were realized. He's been a hurt ALOT the past two seasons. 5 more years. crashlanding 02-14-2007, 08:56 PM Looks as though my fears were realized. He's been a hurt ALOT the past two seasons. 5 more years. The groin is an issue, this injury isn't recurring. Kind of a freak thing. It'd be like calling Madden injury prone for getting a puck in the face. | ||
