That's actually not a bad idea. I thought he's on a 2 way contract?

Is it worth it? What if Marty gets hurt during a game.. Who would we put in there?

I wouldn't mind having Doyle as a backup for a while.

i think the poor kid should be given a chance to play, why not just trade him to where hed atleast have a better chance. an older, veteran backup is prolly the best thing for the devs. i miss tererri :(. wont someone please think of the children >in best helen lovejoy voice<

I think Doyle deserves a shot too. He has put up very good numbers over the last two years and seems to have matured into a very capable goalie.

Got ya.. My bad, for some reason i thought the idea was to send him down and not call anyone up.. I have no idea why i thought that.. I wouldn't mind lettin Doyle up for a couple in that case

*Knock on wood for RaZor sayin Marty will never get hurt.. EVER..*

The way some guys have been crashing him i wouldn't be surprised.. I didn't think it'd happen last year ever and what'd he miss, like 8 games?

I've actually been thinking about this and wondered if Clemmer would prefer to go down to the minors and get a few games in before making a start for Jersey. On one hand, he'd be able to get in better game shape with a couple of games in Lowell, but he'd also be making a minor league salary during that time that's probably significantly less than what he's making now.

No offense to Clemmenson, but he's not exactly projected to be an NHL starter. If I'm not mistaken, he also had a chance to sign elsewhere this offseason. He knows the deal, he starts when Brodeur needs a rest or is injured which may only be a handful of games per season. An older, veteran backup doesn't come for league minimum, which is all the Devils should be paying for a backup that's only going to be needed for 5 games.

I think Doyle deserves a shot too. He has put up very good numbers over the last two years and seems to have matured into a very capable goalie.

Clemmenson's been good about waiting to be signed in the offseason and not getting much playing time. No reason he shouldn't get the odd start.
