Giggy Injury Updatetbbearcats 01-07-2007, 01:45 AM Wondering of anyone has news on Giggy's injury and when he is expected to make his return. Ducksforcup 01-07-2007, 01:47 AM He is expected to return before the All Star Game break! :) :yo: He has been going through full practices with no pain. tbbearcats 01-07-2007, 01:55 AM how many days has he been practicing for know?? Ducksforcup 01-07-2007, 03:30 AM how many days has he been practicing for know?? Don't have an exact number...a couple of days. :dunno: teddygmr 01-10-2007, 01:28 AM I hope he can play next game; he is missed a lot! I'm not impressed with Bryzgalov tbbearcats 01-10-2007, 07:21 AM Ya seriously Bryz was not so good against Nashville. Any word on Giggy's progress? Sure would be nice to see him tend the nets soooooooooooon. D98 01-10-2007, 11:22 AM Agree. Bryz is good #2 goalie but i donīt imagine him to be our #1. He is a guy who is always there when we need him but or we need somekind of breaktrough but he can not be all the time in the net. Hank 01-10-2007, 11:25 AM Giguere has not been going though full practices and now is unsure if he can get back by the break. Link (http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-spw-duxrep10jan10,1,1081882.story?coll=la-headlines-sports) PuckNut 01-10-2007, 11:26 AM Just thought I'd throw this one to Ducks fans. Anaheim Ducks: Jean-Sebastien Giguere's optimistic outlook of a return before the All-Star break is now looking like a faulty prediction. The goalie isn't ready to practice and said his problematic groin isn't improving the way he hoped. - LA Times http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10460&hubname= 190Octane 01-10-2007, 12:08 PM Wonder if he'll be named to the all-star team even though he's injured? BowDown2Chistov 01-10-2007, 12:19 PM Ya seriously Bryz was not so good against Nashville. Any word on Giggy's progress? Sure would be nice to see him tend the nets soooooooooooon. you cant blam bryz about the ca$hville game, our defence was ****in it the whole 1st period. Davey Duck 01-10-2007, 12:23 PM Wonder if he'll be named to the all-star team even though he's injured? I would think at least ceremonially he will be picked so that he can turn down the spot due to injury. He and Hasek have to be the #2 and #3 goalies for the game. Kipper or Turco should take his spot, with the other one getting shafted by the lame Luongo inclusion. iLau 01-10-2007, 06:02 PM you cant blam bryz about the ca$hville game, our defence was ****in it the whole 1st period. No kidding, he let some soft ones in but our defense let him out in the cold. That period was terrible. tbbearcats 01-12-2007, 06:10 AM any hope giggy is coming back before the break?? or is it safe to say he will be out for a couple more weeks?? tbbearcats 01-15-2007, 03:20 PM any updates on giggy, obviously he is out till after the all star break. anyone know if he will be good to go on the 28th fowlmouth 01-15-2007, 03:54 PM An interview with Jiggy a few games ago he said he didn't think he would be back until after the break, but he is taking it day to day. He didn't sound so hopeful and I think he may have hurt himself a bit more trying to get a head of himself. I love Bryz, and I know he can do this. But he looks like he has lost the fire in his eyes. I think being pulled those games at the beginning of the season and then his injury, I think a lot of his confidence is gone. I hope he gets it back soon, because Bryz can be great, he just needs to remember how. Rhodes 01-15-2007, 04:12 PM I am hoping Giguere will be coming back soon, as everyone is. Although Bryz is a solid goaltender, he is not quite at Giggy's level yet as a #1 goalie. briguy35 01-15-2007, 10:34 PM An interview with Jiggy a few games ago he said he didn't think he would be back until after the break, but he is taking it day to day. Still he is not comparable to Giguere. Lyons71 01-15-2007, 11:35 PM In the program for the game last sunday they had an interview q/a thing with Giguere. One of the questions was "how good does it feel to not have all the injury problems like last season?" :banghead: Davey Duck 01-16-2007, 12:35 AM In the program for the game last sunday they had an interview q/a thing with Giguere. One of the questions was "how good does it feel to not have all the injury problems like last season?" :banghead: I saw that when I was at the Columbus game. I showed it to my friend and we were both cracking up. Pwnasaurus 01-16-2007, 08:14 AM Bryz seems to lose focus at times. I think he would be much more effective on a team like Columbus or Pittsburgh facing a lot of shots rather than on Anaheim where he is sitting still for minutes at a time while the Pahlsson line keeps the puck in the villain's zone during an entire line change. atreyu1488 01-17-2007, 03:23 PM Ottawa fan here, just wanted to give you the update that I found on Yahoo...I am interested in Giguere solely for fantasy hockey purposes, which is why I was looking. Otherwise, he could stay hurt incase Ottawa plays Anaheim in the playoffs...because bryz can't do it :D Update: Giguere (groin) was on the ice for the full morning skate on Tuesday and could still return following the All-Star break, the Orange County Register reports. Recommendation: The Ducks are hoping Giguere will be ready for the Jan. 28 game against Dallas, but coach Randy Carlyle has not set a specific date for his return. "It was a big step," Giguere said Tuesday. "I didn't go all out. I kind of restrained myself in practice, but after practice, I did some nice goalie drills. I was almost there, almost letting it go." Spankatola Jamnuts 01-17-2007, 07:01 PM Note to Carlyle: NOT TOO SOON. What we're watching now sucks, but we don't mind waiting an extra game or two. DRL 01-18-2007, 01:50 AM will caron play a game in the B2B? Ducksforcup 01-18-2007, 03:37 AM I am thinking yes, though with Caryle you never know. :dunno: Classic Tammy 01-21-2007, 11:51 AM any news on gig? TeMoZ 01-21-2007, 11:59 AM any news on gig?Should return for our next game on the 28th. At least thats what i think the situation is. Rhodes 01-22-2007, 03:15 PM Thank god. Although Pronger was a big blow, I think the absence of Giguere is what has really hindered their performance the last few weeks. Many said you can throw any goaltender into the Anaheim net this year and they will still win. Well I think that has been proven false now. Heske_44 01-22-2007, 03:33 PM Thank god. Many said you can throw any goaltender into the Anaheim net this year and they will still win. Well I think that has been proven false now. Yes, because Pronger's grow on trees. Cannot say what the success of 'any' goalie in Anaheim would be with an anchor like Pronger out. Could easily argue that Pronger has been the push over the top that has lead to Anaheim's success this season. Pwnasaurus 01-23-2007, 07:58 AM Yes, because Pronger's grow on trees. Cannot say what the success of 'any' goalie in Anaheim would be with an anchor like Pronger out. Could easily argue that Pronger has been the push over the top that has lead to Anaheim's success this season. Have you seen the softies Bryzgalov is letting in. The d hasn't been great by any means but Giguere is sorely missed. Pronger is as well but not as much as Giguere IMO. Snap Wilson 01-23-2007, 04:44 PM Even with Giguere in net, the team would still have played like crap. He would have stolen a few of the closer games for us, but crap is still crap. Our second pairing is O'Brien-Dipenta. We need Pronger back. Rhodes 01-28-2007, 05:05 PM Giguere is back, and looking good. Pronger is next and Anaheim will be back on track. TeMoZ 01-28-2007, 05:13 PM Giguere is back, and looking good. Pronger is next and Anaheim will be back on track. Giguere, Pronger and Beauchemin are all back. Scott Niedermayer is the only player out right now. McDonald19 01-28-2007, 05:17 PM Giguere is back. I'll go ahead and close this thread. | ||
