ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender David McKee from the Augusta Lynx, Anaheim’s development affiliate in the ECHL.

McKee, 23 (12/5/83), dressed but did not play in four games for the Ducks after being recalled earlier this season on Nov. 21. He has appeared in 21 games with Augusta this season, posting a record of 10-8-0 with a 3.87 goals against average (GAA) and a .887 save percentage (SV%).

The 6-1, 187-pound netminder played three seasons with Cornell University of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC), where he was a Hobey Baker Finalist and the Ivy League Player of the Year in 2005. Last season, he earned a 22-9-4 record with a 2.08 GAA and .910 SV%, helping the Big Red to the 2006 Men’s Frozen Four Tournament.

McKee signed as a free agent with Anaheim on April 1, 2006.

I'm a little surprised it was McKee they recalled. He hasn't played well, but neither has Marsters so I guess its a toss up.

Here's hoping he gets 0 TOI.

Would Marsters be waiver eligible? Maybe since Giguere is day to day they're hoping he might be ready Friday/whatever game is after that so it doesn't really matter who they call up.

We're so far ahead of the rest of the league, we'll spot them an NHL goaltender.

Wall/McKee, baby. Bring it!

Don't expect Giguere back by Friday....in fact I would expect to see Bryzgalov back before the Giguere.

If neither Jiggy nor Bryz is going to be back and playing at 100%, we could be in for some rough times. It's obvious that neither Wall nor McKee--at least at this stage of their respective careers---is ready to play in the NHL. McKee's numbers at Augusta are less than inspiring.

Why do you say that?
