Playoff Rounds: What happens?

Ok, assuming that with some good luck and hard work, Canada can finish first in their pool - and thus get the bye - what happens to Sweden and USA? Assuming that USA beats Slovakia and loses/wins against Sweden, who also beats Slovakia. Germany, of course, still must play Sweden as well - I predict a German loss. If this happens, Germany will finish with 5pts and it could all come down to goals for/against. So, in short, despite dropping their first two, the US could still have a good shot. Or have I missed something?

If the USA loses to Sweden, they´re out. If they win and beat Slovakia, they´re in.
