Take some to vote for Martin Brodeur for Eastern Conference All-Star Game starting goaltender. Here are his current ranks in the Eastern Conference:
Wins: 1st
Shutouts: 1st, tied
GAA: 1st
SV%: 2nd
Brodeur is also ranked 2nd, tied-2nd, 6th and 5th overall in the NHL in those above categories. One should note that the Eastern Conference is much more high-scoring than the Western Conference. Twelve of the top 16 scoring teams are in the Eastern Conference.
Ryan miller leads the voting by a pretty big margin with a little over a week remaining. I suspect that it is all the evil Rory Fitzpatrick voters who vote tens of thousands of times.
Go and consider Martin Brodeur for your vote (http://www2.nhl.com/allstarballot/). Spread the word of this injustice also.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
DevilsFan38 12-23-2006, 03:35 PM Looks awesome, I like the addition of the Christmas jerseys :D
(Pssst, I think you meant Christmas "edition") ;)
David Puddy 12-23-2006, 03:36 PM Looks awesome, I like the addition of the Christmas jerseys :D
(Pssst, I think you meant Christmas "edition") ;)Can you change that please?
DevilsFan38 12-23-2006, 03:40 PM Can you change that please?
Absolutely.
Would love to see the Devils end their losing streak against Atlanta tonight. I think they need to play Hossa like they played Ovechkin last night.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 03:54 PM Maybe I'll see this one tonight! I hope Elias and Gomez are healthy enough to, but more importantly it's time for another big game for the checking unit! Go Devils!
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 04:00 PM KILL HOSSA THE ASSHO. That is is all.
MissionHockey 12-23-2006, 04:00 PM Elias is almost certainly out, Gomez might be a question mark and the team is coming back from the second half of a back to back. Its a good thing that I'm not logical, because all things point to a poor game for the Devils. I hope they can pull this one out.
NJ_Devil_Boy 12-23-2006, 04:01 PM Without Elias and/or Gomez, I'm ready for the 'Christmas Special Edition' with a side of 'Xtra boring' game tonight. :sarcasm: :yo:
The_Heat_Is_On_15* 12-23-2006, 05:09 PM My friend just told me that there's this fantasy hockey show he watches every weekend on the internet and they said that Elias has been icing his foot all day and he feels alot better and there's a chance he will play.
That would great!
Assuming both Gomez and Elias are out, what are we looking at?
Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner
Gionta-Brylin-Rupp
Pandolfo-Madden-Rasmussen
LaCouture-Dowd-Janssen
Those are some stellar lines.

LaCouture-Dowd-Janssen

Jansse didnt play the hole third period, i dont no if he was just benched or resting his arm or was hurt but he didnt play. Woudnt bringing up LaCouture bring us over the cap?

Check the Devils website. LaCouture is still up with the Devils... he hasn't been sent back to Lowell yet. I thought that having both him and Janssen up would put us over the cap, but apparently we still have room.
MissionHockey 12-23-2006, 06:19 PM Rassmussen would play instead of LaCouture. Its too bad Berfors is in Sweden, this could have been his chance.
Rassmussen would play instead of LaCouture. Its too bad Berfors is in Sweden, this could have been his chance.
If Elias or Gomez manage to dress, then yes, Ras would be played over LaCouture. But if both are out, unless the Devils called up someone from Lowell this morning, then LaCouture will be in the lineup.
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 06:27 PM The Omen! Where is he???? We need his cynicism to ensure we win this game!!!
Anyways...
Lets Go Devils!!!
:devdance: :devils :devdance:
Ronnie Bass 12-23-2006, 06:34 PM Oh boy, channel 669 for DirecTV is experiencing technical difficulties. It could be a long night.

its on SOPCAST for tonight...
anyone know how to get SOPCRAP to work?
MissionHockey 12-23-2006, 06:47 PM If Elias or Gomez manage to dress, then yes, Ras would be played over LaCouture. But if both are out, unless the Devils called up someone from Lowell this morning, then LaCouture will be in the lineup.

DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 06:57 PM Elias is in game. Gomez is not.
Ronnie Bass 12-23-2006, 06:57 PM Elias and Gomez are both in the starting lineup.
David Puddy 12-23-2006, 06:57 PM Elias is in the starting lineup according to Steve Cangelosi. So is Gomez.
Janssen will also play. Rasmussen is a scratch.
According to Cantalogsi or whoever, Elias, Gomez, and Janssen will be in, Rasmussen is scratched. Lines should be:
Elias-Gomez-Gionta
Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner
Pandolfo-Madden-Brylin
Rupp-Dowd-Janssen
LETS GO DEVILS
devs44 12-23-2006, 06:58 PM Hell yeah! Never listen to Everson again.

TaiMaiShu 12-23-2006, 07:00 PM Nce GDT Puddy!
DevilsFan38 12-23-2006, 07:00 PM Go Devils! :devdance:
Elias is now scratched, put Rasmussen in.
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 07:01 PM Ouch... late scratch... :(
Elias to Parise 12-23-2006, 07:02 PM elias is out..:(
Brylin-Gomez-Gionta
Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner
Pandolfo-Madden-Rasmussen
Rupp-Dowd-Janssen
EDIT: I'll change the lines as Julien does.
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:03 PM Confirmed on the Devils telecast that Elias was a last minute scratch.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:04 PM Thank god, don't risk it, let him sit.

I love our "Hot" list.
Gionta is 1 goal away from 100 in his career
borrachon 12-23-2006, 07:07 PM I always forget about Wiemer...
David Puddy 12-23-2006, 07:08 PM Elias is a late scratch!
Gionta-Madden-Pandolfo vs. Holik and Kovalchuk, as this game begins.
First line now appears to be Brylin-Gomez-Gionta
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:08 PM We need Marty to be huge tonight!
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:09 PM That was so offside
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 07:10 PM Parise Scores!
David Puddy 12-23-2006, 07:10 PM Zach Parise! 1-0 Devils.
PARISE!
Great decision from Martin to pinch.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:10 PM Paul Martin makes his first good play of they year!
Feed Me A Stray Cat 12-23-2006, 07:11 PM Nice play by Martin. Hopefully this will boost his confidence.
Cam Janssen with a very healthy hit there
Gomez with a laser off the pipe. Great shot, great set-up by Brylin. Devils offense is clicking very nicely right now.
Ronnie Bass 12-23-2006, 07:14 PM Listening to Chico can be a very dizzy experience.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:14 PM There is a nice snarl in this game. I get the feeling the Devil players don't like these guys very much
Ugly play in front, and McCarthy ties it up. Tied at one 6 minutes in.
To anyone else watching the game, it seems like tonight was Blueland Santa Hat night
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:15 PM McCarthy ties it up.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:16 PM Listening to Chico can be a very dizzy experience.
I can't wait until he starts waxing poetic about some absurd topic.
David Puddy 12-23-2006, 07:16 PM Through traffic in front of the net, McCarthy ties it up.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:16 PM Hey I've got a question for Colin White......what position are you paid to play? I was under the impression that you were a defensman, when did they make you goalie? GTFO!
McCarthy in the news again, gets called for tripping Mike Rupp. Devils powerplay now.
Brylin-Gomez-Gionta
Langenbrunner-Rafalski
jkrdevil 12-23-2006, 07:27 PM How did the Devils get up to 6th in the NHL on the power play?
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:28 PM Dowd and Gomez both have to score on those chances.
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:28 PM Parise on the power play.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:28 PM Parise again, atta boy
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 07:28 PM Parise AGAIN!
Parise-Zajac-Rupp
Martin-White
PARISE! Devils are now 8 for the last 15 on the PP!
:handclap:
DevilsFan38 12-23-2006, 07:28 PM How did the Devils get up to 6th in the NHL on the power play?
Everyone else sucks? :sarcasm:
jkrdevil 12-23-2006, 07:28 PM Parise again!!!!!
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:29 PM How did the Devils get up to 6th in the NHL on the power play?
Parise, Zajac, and Langenbrunner all caught fire.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:29 PM How did the Devils get up to 6th in the NHL on the power play?
A very hot streak.
David Puddy 12-23-2006, 07:29 PM How did the Devils get up to 6th in the NHL on the power play?
They were 7 for their last 14. It is now 8 for their last 15 as Zach Parise gets his second of the night.
I wanted to add that the power play unit looked really good as well. They nearly stuffed it in on a scramble.
I hope the team can sustain this energy. Let's Go Devils!
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:30 PM Julien was an idiot for breaking up the PZL line.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:32 PM I've hated Jon Sim since the 2000 finals
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:32 PM Can't take this BMW ad anymore. What marketing genius thought it would be brilliant to have screaming kids in a commercial? Unreal.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:32 PM I've hated Jon Sim since the 2000 finals
I liked the embrace that him and Colin had after though, it was sweet
Dowd will be 38? What an oldie. Gomez will be 27, and Pando will be 32
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:37 PM It's amazing how these players and everyone else is getting older, but I am staying young forever!
:D
Jon Sim is hitting anything that moves. We have our own guy to do that. I say put them both out
Wow. Both teams are hitting hard and often
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:40 PM Cammer time?
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:40 PM White was hammered, but he got his revenge just seconds later on Kovalchuk. 2-2 game now.
Holik with a knuckle puck that deflects off Martin and in. Tied at two with less than a minute left.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:41 PM I love you Paul Martin, you're ****ing amazing
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:41 PM First of all I hate Paul Martin again.
Second, that was a mother-****ing penalty by Vigier on Oduya. Absolute ********.
Feed Me A Stray Cat 12-23-2006, 07:44 PM How can someone blame Martin for that?
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:44 PM Julien is making the same mistake Robinson made in repeatedly going back to a defender (Malakhov) who just doesn't deserve this kind of ice time. Martin's minutes need to be reduced at this point. Lukowich deserves better then this.
Feed Me A Stray Cat 12-23-2006, 07:44 PM First of all I hate Paul Martin again.
Second, that was a mother-****ing penalty by Vigier on Oduya. Absolute ********.
Considering the break we got with the McCarthy "penalty" I wouldn't complain.
I love you Paul Martin, you're ****ing amazing
I'm sensing sarcasm from you. He's still slumping, but showing signs he is getting out of the funk.
DevilsFan38 12-23-2006, 07:45 PM So the Devils had 14 shots on goal and only allowed 6? That sounds great...except we're tied at 2 :shakehead
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:45 PM How can someone blame Martin for that?
Because the puck was going 20 feet wide and he tried to catch it, then changed his mind and deflected it in.
Feed Me A Stray Cat 12-23-2006, 07:46 PM Because the puck was going 20 feet wide and he tried to catch it, then changed his mind and deflected it in.
20 feet wide...bit of an overstatement. He tried to stop the shot. It was a bad break.
He had a good period.
Ronnie Bass 12-23-2006, 07:46 PM Can't take this BMW ad anymore. What marketing genius thought it would be brilliant to have screaming kids in a commercial? Unreal.
Oh geez, it is one of the worst commercials ever, getting that excited over a robot? What a geek that kid is going to be.
Feed Me A Stray Cat 12-23-2006, 07:47 PM Oh geez, it is one of the worst commercials ever, getting that excited over a robot? What a geek that kid is going to be.
Nintendo 64
Oh geez, it is one of the worst commercials ever, getting that excited over a robot? What a geek that kid is going to be.
So, the BMW commericial, Knicks commericial, or Mellencamp?
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:49 PM I'm sensing sarcasm from you. He's still slumping, but showing signs he is getting out of the funk.
Very nicely done.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:49 PM 20 feet wide...bit of an overstatement. He tried to stop the shot. It was a bad break.
He had a good period.
It was still going wide and it ruins the good period he did have, because we dominated that period and we are tied because of 2 stupid plays, and his was one of them.
BTW I did give him credit for his nice pinch on the first goal.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:50 PM So, the BMW commericial, Knicks commericial, or Mellencamp?
Knicks in a landslide. Worst. Commercial. Ever.
Feed Me A Stray Cat 12-23-2006, 07:50 PM It was still going wide and it ruins the good period he did have, because we dominated that period and we are tied because of 2 stupid plays, and his was one of them.

It wasn't a stupid play. Give it a rest. It was just a bad bounce.
Tbg1515 12-23-2006, 07:50 PM What can i watch the devils game on Comsucks, doesnt have it on in my area......I gotta watch the Isles and STrangers games
jerseydevil 12-23-2006, 07:51 PM Not a bad play by Martin at all...that's just a bad break and part of the game as a defenseman...Anyone who's played the game knows that..Give him a break.
Ronnie Bass 12-23-2006, 07:51 PM Nintendo 64
It's not a picture of a robot on the box?
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 07:52 PM Im quite happy with how the game is going... even without Elias, we are producing alot of opportunities on goal.
The D is doing well... the Martin goal is a fluke.
Keep it up Devils!
Tao Jones 12-23-2006, 07:53 PM Sopcast is in the buffering mode, some picture no sound.
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 07:54 PM It's not a picture of a robot on the box?
The video was originally of a kid freakin out over getting a N64. But names have been changed to protect the innocent.
The video is real too. That is actually an xmas home video.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 07:54 PM Give him a break.
Gladly, baseball bat, meet leg.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:55 PM It wasn't a stupid play. Give it a rest. It was just a bad bounce.
So we'll agree to disagree.
What can i watch the devils game on Comsucks, doesnt have it on in my area......I gotta watch the Isles and STrangers games
I'm in Central Jersey on Comcast, but I'm getting the game on Ch. 32, the same as Union. Check the link that Puddy provided with the first post. Try those channels and you'll get it.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 07:55 PM Gladly, baseball bat, meet leg.
:biglaugh:
jerseydevil 12-23-2006, 07:56 PM I don't mean to be offensive...but have you ever played ice hockey as a defenseman??
Sorry - this was meant for Capt Lou and Devilfanatic
StriderTB 12-23-2006, 07:56 PM It's not a picture of a robot on the box?
The original is a home video of the kid getting an N64. The ad agency superimposed a robot on the box, but you can still see Nintendo logos on the side.
Most annoying commercial on TV.
No game for me either, here in Plainsboro. Channel 32 is CNN, and Comcast says channel 98 is overflow, but there is no channel 98.
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 07:57 PM This game looks like its being broadcast from Mars.
The video was originally of a kid freakin out over getting a N64. But names have been changed to protect the innocent.

I hope your parents sent it to America's Funniest Home Videos ;)
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 07:57 PM What can i watch the devils game on Comsucks, doesnt have it on in my area......I gotta watch the Isles and STrangers games
Lou was reportedly pretty upset that the game was changed last minute to MSG2 in the local Jersey papers.
Feed Me A Stray Cat 12-23-2006, 07:57 PM Hale doesn't look nearly as bad as last night. Hopefully he can develop some semblance of consistency eventually.

Look, I have no interest in getting into a huge argument with you guys over this. So enough of the "I played hockey and you didn't" ********. I am not discussing this any further.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:01 PM Well the Devils are continuing to attack, which is good to start the second.
Hopefully flukes won't kill the Devils tonight any more than already have.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 08:01 PM I don't mean to be offensive...but have you ever played ice hockey as a defenseman??
Sorry - this was meant for Capt Lou and Devilfanatic
Yes, I have, and I've also learned that when a shot is going towards the goal, don't try and touch it with your hand, it's always bad news. So just leave the puck alone, and if he had, it would have gone wide, but whatever. He's sucked all year so this wasn't anything to be surprised about.
It was a slap shot though, it's not like he had forever to think about it. Regardless, the second has started. Let's not let another one in, eh boys?
jerseydevil 12-23-2006, 08:04 PM Look, I have no interest in getting into a huge argument with you guys over this. So enough of the "I played hockey and you didn't" ********. I am not discussing this any further.
ok...geez..judging by your response my guess is no...and unfortunately, that's why you don't understand why the play by martin is just an unfortunate bounce on a reactionary play by a d-man..
really didn't mean to insult you..just trying to protect one of the devils d-men from unfair criticism..
Havlet shoves down Gomez in front of the net, and will sit for two. Devils PP again
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:07 PM ok...geez..judging by your response my guess is no...and unfortunately, that's why you don't understand why the play by martin is just an unfortunate bounce on a reactionary play by a d-man..

Well you made an assumption and are wrong.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:07 PM Wow, Parise wasn't kidding when he said the Devils were being aggressive on the PP.
Sergei Brylin sits for 2 minutes due to goaltender interference in the middle of the scrum. He gets pushed into the goalie, but whatever, the ref makes his call can't really change it.
Brylin gets sent to the box for goaltender interference, after being pushed into Lehtonen. Four on four for about a minute and a half
DevFan-RU- 12-23-2006, 08:09 PM Wow, I just tuned into the Rangers game to check the score, and it was like going from playing a PS1 to a PS3...
God, I hate MSG's broadcast quality.

Exactly right...a Holik slapshot that Martin tried to spin out of the way...tough play.
$45 for Holik's stick?? What kind of wood does he use, redwood? I can get mine for fifteen each.
Atlanta PP for 40 seconds.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 08:11 PM When Shane Hnidy scores on you, go home.
3-2 Atlanta, another shot from the point. Shane Hnidy with the goal. Didn't he score last game too?
EDIT: What is Martin's contract? 1 yr, 3 or 4 mil?

DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:12 PM Shane Hnidy launches a rocket from the high slot for Atlanta to take the lead. Just after the PP ended.
3-2.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 08:12 PM Exactly right...a Holik slapshot that Martin tried to spin out of the way...tough play.
He tried to glove it, not spin out of the way. Spin out of the way I could have handled.

Hooking on the Devils, Atlanta PP coming up
This is bull, I'm in Central NJ and MSG 2 is nowhere to be found, can anyone help?
Try channel 32, that's how I'm watching it on Comcast
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:14 PM Try your higher channels on cable or DirecTV. Hell, just flip channels until you see guys in Devils jerseys.
Anyway, a Devil will sit 2 minutes for hooking. The Devils need to kill this one, the Thrashers are filled with momentum and confidence and a goal here by Atlanta can really put things in doubt for NJ.
He tried to glove it, not spin out of the way. Spin out of the way I could have handled.
Well, he tried to glove it while spinning away. Martin is the one in the box.
And they're playing 'Convoy' at the Phillips. Wonder if they play the Good 'ol Hockey Game?
Ronnie Bass 12-23-2006, 08:15 PM Martin two minutes for what looks like holding. I could see this game start spiraling away if the Devs don't get their act together.

Dowd and Brylin on the PK?
scalan15 12-23-2006, 08:18 PM Just called Comcast and they said the game is not being broadcast in my area. The Devs get nor espect, LOU should do something about this!!!
Penalty killed, Devils need to get the momentum back

Ouch, sorry about that. Ch. 98 is listed as the overflow channel in Central Jersey, but that's the Speed Network for me. Go to NHL.com and listen to the game on the radio if you like.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:20 PM Is this what we have become? Dissing the music on other team's PA whilst the Devils have been playing crap-tastic songs of the 80s as part of their season-by-season celebration?
Anyway, the Devils kill the penalty thanks to Martin Brodeur making saves and the PKers being able to dump the puck out of the zone. Time to work on getting that equalizer.

Like "Who Let the Dogs Out" is any better? As another poster once said, the third becomes the techno period at the Meadowlands. Bad hockey music is bad hockey music, doesn't matter if it's in Atlanta or Toronto.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:24 PM Other than Brodeur, Parise is the Devils' MVP this year.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:24 PM I just find it a petty thing to crow about, especially when there is a game on and Colin White gets tripped up right in front of the ref, and Doc says "AND PLAY CONTINUES"
Not that it matters as de Vries hooks Parise in Atlanta's zone, so the Devils will go on the power play.
Zach Parise draws a penalty, and the Devils will go back on the PP as Greg de Vries sits. With his two goals tonight, Parise has tied his goal total from last year.
I just find it a petty thing to crow about, especially when there is a game on and Colin White gets tripped up right in front of the ref, and Doc says "AND PLAY CONTINUES"
Like Doc said, that could've been a make-up for the "trip" that felled Rupp before.
PZL together on the PP, with Oduya and White on the points.
Eulogy923 12-23-2006, 08:25 PM Just called Comcast and they said the game is not being broadcast in my area. The Devs get nor espect, LOU should do something about this!!!
Thanks, my dad and I were going crazy looking for it :help:
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 08:25 PM Parise wants the game tying goal bad. He's skating hard every shift and making things happen all over the place.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:27 PM Someone's gotta be there for that juicy rebound off Oduya's ripper.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:28 PM The Devils come close, but again no cigar. While moral victories mean nothing, I would like to point out that about a month ago or so, the Devils would have folded up like a tent after that Hnidy goal. The fact that the Devils are still skating and looking for that equalizer is somewhat comforting when you consider that.
That said, I want the equalizer to actually come about, not to be desired. 3 minutes left in the second.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:28 PM We are in danger of getting run out the building, they are hitting everything that moves. Let's go guys!!!!
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:29 PM A big scrum up front with a loose puck and it gets knocked away by Hossa! Was that Should Have Been Goal #3 or #4 of the night?
Keep on pressing, Devils
John Madden, you are a hockey player, PUT THAT PUCK IN!
Gah, Hossa was just in the right place.
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 08:31 PM We are in danger of getting run out the building, they are hitting everything that moves. Let's go guys!!!!
It would be even worse if Exelby was playing. Hits are 15-11 Atlanta so far.
haakon84 12-23-2006, 08:33 PM oh wow this game is so exciting.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:33 PM Thrashers = Luckiest team in history
Wow! Gionta almost with a goal. Great play at the end of the period.
3-2 Atlanta after two.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:34 PM Gionta's (who is a man and plays hockey like one) blind backhand beats Lehtonen AND MISSES THE NET! OOOOOOHHH The Devils came REAL close there.
Hits nonwithstanding, the Devils end this period with barraging Lehtonen. If the Devils keep it up, I'm confident the Devils will tie it up.
Devils need to come out flying for the third. If they can pot one quickly, they can take this game
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:45 PM Capt Lou...you've got some real fire tonight...Is it eggnog induced??
I am glad that you said something because it gives me a reason to say this:
There is absolutely no reason to make any posts personal. That is what is going on here, and I don't like it.
If I think Paul Martin sucks, and made a stupid play, that is my opinion. Whether or not I played hockey is not relevant and that is something that happens way too much on these boards. People who have played hockey do not have a better opinion than those who didn't. We can disagree, but it does not need to get personal.
Likewise, the Thrashers ARE getting lucky tonight. We should have at least 4 or 5 goals already.
Oh, a new Knicks commericial. Somehow, just as grating.
Nice painting by Chico's daughter
Brooklyndevil 12-23-2006, 08:50 PM Anyone have an idea on what channel Fox Sports 2 is located in the New York area? Been through the dam guide twice.
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:51 PM Oh, a new Knicks commericial. Somehow, just as grating.
Is it a new one, or just the old one re-done?
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:51 PM Haleh Resch is a very good artist and I wish I could screen cap Doc's family picture there. Preferbly with a caption like "Ooooooh, I gotta take another look there are THREE horses there."
But back to the game: the Devils really need to score. No, duh, right? They, obviously, got 20 minutes; but if I'm Julien, I let Zach Parise create as much mayhem as necessary to get that equalizer.

Wow! Settle down....You need to go to the medicine cabinet, grab 2 valium and wash it down with some brown liquor....
I was JOKING!!!
I said nothing about you except "you have some fire tonight".....You need to relax.
Anyone have an idea on what channel Fox Sports 2 is located in the New York area? Been through the dam guide twice.
Puddy had a guide in the first post. Try that?
Is it a new one, or just the old one re-done?
Same crappy music, different fake interviews, not as much crappy footage from the Knicks games. It's like the ads for the Phantom of the Opera "Where were you when you first saw the Knicks on MSG? It's an event you'll never forget" or something like that.
Back to hockey. Third period starts.
Doc: "Madden protests the call, but the refs win again" :biglaugh:
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 08:53 PM If Gomez is playing with an injury, he sure isn't letting it affect his game so far.

IN NYC, its channel 60 on time warner

I wasn't referring to this last post...forget it anyways.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 08:55 PM What I have said about Parise creating mayhem? He draws another penalty, giving the Devils another PP. One, I believe, the Devils should take advantage of right away.
Parise draws another penalty, and the Devils go back on the power play for the fourth time tonight. McCarthy will sit.
I wonder where the puck ended up?
Captain Lou 12-23-2006, 08:58 PM 32 shots so far keep it going
Penalty killed, 16:00 left in the period
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 09:00 PM The Devils, obviously, do not score on the power play.
Erik Rasmussen hits the puck first on an delayed icing, but the lineman feels differently. It was a close play so I don't think it's a big deal.
15 minutes to equalize, Devils. Please keep that in mind.
Brooklyndevil 12-23-2006, 09:01 PM Puddy had a guide in the first post. Try that?
Found it. Thank you very much!
NJ_Devil_Boy 12-23-2006, 09:06 PM With Elias out, time for Gionta to get it done. :devdance:
Parise is being double shifted now, with Gomez-Gionta and Zajac-Langenbrunner
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 09:07 PM Oops.
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 09:07 PM Goodnight. 6 straight against ATL and I hate this ATL team.
Kozlov sneaks one by Marty, and makes it 4-2.
Found it. Thank you very much!
Sure thing, though there may not be much more to watch.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 09:08 PM Brodeur stops the first Kozlov shot, but he doesn't get the rebound.
Who the hell was covering him? He was in the slot without anyone touching him!
AAAH! Oduya went to stop Hossa's pass, misses, leaving Kozlov open.
AAAAAAAH! Kozlov MISSED the first shot, kicked it aside, and then put it in! Wow.
4-2 Atlanta. Time to respond quickly. There is time, but not a lot.

I think Pandolfo was the nearest forward to Kozlov on that goal. Another Devils player was out of position behind the net.
Brooklyndevil 12-23-2006, 09:10 PM This guy just kills us. What a waste of channel surfing.
Just want to wish all those who observe a very Merry Christmas to you and your families!
Devils will be on the kill once play resumes. Rafalski will sit for holding, and White is in the locker room with an injury to his knee.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 09:11 PM I saw Oduya go after the puck first, it might just been Jay Pandolfo. Regardless, it's a goal.
Devils will be shorthanded, which is not the optimal way to score 2 goals to tie things up.
AfroThunder396 12-23-2006, 09:16 PM I hate the Thrashers.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 09:17 PM The Thrashers are rolling, but the Devils are falling apart. That takeaway almost spelled certain doom for any chances at a comeback. I agree with Chico, the Devils will need to take some risks and make something happen.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 09:23 PM Brodeur just made a big toe save on Kozlov to keep NJ within 2. About 2:50 left, does Julien pull the goalie in a minute from now?
UPDATE: Yes, yes he does. And Kovalchuk misses the empty net.
1:13 left and Marty is on the bench.
Kovalchuk with the ENG, 5-2 Atlanta.
DevilFisch 12-23-2006, 09:27 PM Kovalchuk ices it with the empty net goal.
The Thrashers will win 5-2. The game as a whole was up-tempo, exciting hockey. Unfortunately, the Thrashers got most of the breaks and most of the goals. Atlanta continues to have NJ's number as if they are on the Island. Sucks, but that's the way the puck bounces.
The Cros comes to NJ on Tuesday. Should be fun.
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 09:27 PM 5-2 and the Devils lose White to injury. A great effort against the Caps followed up with another big letdown. Consistently inconsistent.
jkrdevil 12-23-2006, 09:40 PM Good news is that the Rangers choked away a 3-0 lead in the first 6 minutes of the third in Tampa so the Devils might hold onto to 1st despite a loss tonight. Right now 3-3 with about 11 minutes to go.
Unthinkable 12-23-2006, 09:43 PM Richards and Boyle came up big for Tampa Bay. Boyle just made it 4-3 getting a hat trick.

haha i was just about to post the same thing..
4-3 lightning now!!!!!woooo
borrachon 12-23-2006, 09:45 PM 5-2 and the Devils lose White to injury. A great effort against the Caps followed up with another big letdown. Consistently inconsistent.
They've been fairly consistent. Beat decent/mediocre teams, lose to good ones.
DevilsFan38 12-23-2006, 09:52 PM When I left for dinner it was 2-2 and from your posts it sounded like the Devils were playing pretty well...what on earth happened? Oh well, another loss to Atlanta, for some reason they really seem to have our number.
Happy Holidays to everyone!
Devilsfanatic 12-23-2006, 10:15 PM At least the Rangers choked
orangethrasher 12-24-2006, 01:23 AM Thrashers didn't broadcast the game tonight, so I watched your broadcast on center ice. I have to say, I really enjoyed your announcers... it was a fun game to watch.
I hope White's knee is OK... that's a tough shot to take. :amazed:
JerryGigantic 12-24-2006, 03:58 AM Can't take this BMW ad anymore. What marketing genius thought it would be brilliant to have screaming kids in a commercial? Unreal.
Sounds like an ad for the new movie "Black Christmas", like a woman beeing stabbed to death (not a child shouting with glee). Just the sound of it is HORRIFYING. I literally leap for the mute button everytime that add starts...but never in time.
JerryGigantic 12-24-2006, 04:10 AM Listening to Chico can be a very dizzy experience.
You got that right... Chico was completely out-to-lunch this game. He twice called Rupp "Martin", he called another player "Elias" (despite him being scratched), when we went up 2-1 he called it a "two goal lead", on and on -- it was bizarro-land in Chico-town tonight.
JerryGigantic 12-24-2006, 04:11 AM Anyway,
MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody!

To be fair, Doc called Gio Elias too.
JerryGigantic 12-24-2006, 02:21 PM Trying to forget that game as much as they are... We've been significantly better on the ice and in the booth, to put it mildly.
Colin Whites Eye 12-24-2006, 02:43 PM who (if anyone) wore the C last night with elias out? i had to work so i didnt get to catch the game

Didn't notice or hear mention of anyone wearing the "C", and since Patty was scratched literally 2 miuntes before they dropped the puck, I doubt anyone was assigned the "C" -- much less had it stitched to their jersey. If anyone knows otherwise, please report.

Pando and White had on A's, but that was it.
Merry Christmas, Happy traditional holidays, whatever it may be. Stay safe!
