Arrrgghh!!! That STINKS!! I knew something was wrong last night when they showed Patty's face wincing in pain. I really hope whatever's wrong with his ankle is not a long term injury. If he has to miss tonight's game, so be it. Just don't want him to be out for a while!! Didn't see or hear anything about Gomez until you posted that article. Wow. Hope these guys bounce back quick!!

http://www.nypost.com/seven/12232006/sports/devils/two_points__two_pains_devils_mark_everson.htmIf Mark N.Everson told me that my user name at HFBoards is David Puddy, I would be skeptical.

This is from the Devils-Rangers GDT this past Sunday,New Jersey Devils: Brodeur said he suffered a hip strain stopping a Niklas Lidstrom shot in the first, then aggravated it reaching for a dump-in in the second. - New York Post

From TSN's ice chipsThis game is really shaping up to be something. It seems like its backup vs backup tonight...

I don't have any inside info on the Devils, but I don't think Mark Everson really does either.

His mom and dad were here last night and they didn't say anything. Nobody knew or maybe they didn't know but it was at 8pm our time when they got here about. If anything is wrong I'll find out tomorrow (sunday)

Gomez said something "popped" in his knee. Is it just me or do you all get the feeling that Gomez is screwing with Neverson?

that would be funny because I saw another article and whoever it was never mentioned Gomez just Elias.

This just falt out sucks , I JUST traded for Elias in my pool two days ago. In my first game with him last night he gets 2 pts including the GWG and he has really been on a tear recently.

I just lost Spezza one of my top players for 4-6 weeks which is a huge blow to my team. I am praying and holding out hope that Elias's x-rays come back fine. I am fully expecting him to miss tonight's game , but that is fine cause than he can rest up over the Christmas break and hopefully be good to go next week.

Wow , this just can't be happening to me! I feel like I'm being punished! But it would be a huge releif if he is alright.

If anyone has any updates at all please post them.

If they're both out, I wouldn't mind seeing what Papineau can do with the big team.

Better now then the end of the season. But I hope both are fine and just need rest and an ice pack.

Lets just hope it a little soreness, can't lose Patty or Gomer for any long strenches of time.

Hey, could this be a chance to see the other Gionta play with the big boys?

Gomez did finish the game, he looked fine on his last shift. :dunno:

one goal in 25 games pretty much says no.

on the ticker of the score up here in Canada it said Gomez is questionable for tonight also it said nothing about Elias

Stephen plays a vastly different game then Brian though. He's more into the physical play.

Really....surprised that it said something about Gomez but yet nothing about Elias. Well than hopefully Elias is fine and he is good to go tonight.

Still really don't know if I should play Elias or bench him....anyone got any advice:dunno:

Yeah, I get the feeling he embellished on Gomez's comments. I think we'll see him in tonight's game. But Elias, on the other hand, Everson actually cited that he was seen walking with a cane (one of the few times these Post writers actually support their claims). So maybe he'll be out for tonight's game just to rest up the ankle.

If they have to miss tonight's game than take the Christmas break to rest up and heal, I don't mind that. It would be nice to see them play against Atlanta tonight, but after Gomez's groin injury I think we all know it's worse to rush them back before they're ready.

And Elias man? He said he was in some pain which is obvious after blocking an 80 MPH slap shot. I am not expecting him to play tonight but sirprisingly I haven't heard anything on him not playing tonight.

If he has to miss tonight's game that would be definitly be the smart choice so than he can rest up over the next few days. Just really really hope the x-rays turn out fine!

Scott Gomez-C- Devils Dec. 23 - 11:47 am et

Scott Gomez's status for Saturday night's game against Atlanta is unknown.

He heard a pop in his right knee when it caught a rut in the ice during Friday night's game against Washington. Gomez did receive treatment after the game and felt much better. Consider him day-to-day. If Gomez and Patrick Elias can't play against the Thashers, look for Zach Parise and Travis Zajac to get extra ice time.

Patrik Elias-W- Devils Dec. 23 - 11:38 am et

Patrick Elias may have sustained a broken left foot after blocking a slapshot late in Friday's game against the Capitals.

The team is awaiting x-ray results but is bracing itself for the worst. If in fact Elias has a break, he could be out for an extended period of time. "I blocked a shot and that's it," Elias said before limping out of the visitors' dressing room. "We took an X-ray, so we'll see. It's sore, but that's not surprising. I got hit by an 80 mile-an-hour slap shot." Elias won't be in the lineup Saturday against Atlanta. We will update you as to his condition once more is known.

It truly is a bummer for you that Spezza and (potentially) Elias are injured. Never mind their NHL teams and the players themselves.

The hockey world sends its condolences...all the way to make-believe rotisserie land.

Can you send some of that my way? I have Spezza and Elias and didn't know Elias was injured so I sat Parise.

Anyone think this might a blessing in disguise? I remember Sidney Crosby got hurt and when he came back he went on a tear. He said because the down time from his injury gave him some time to rest, hopefully Patrik has the same effect.

on elias i heard he skated in the pre warmup before the atlanta game and took himself out as his foot i was still a little sore. the good news is that he skated in the pre meaning that his foot injury is not serious.

Gomez played last game so I'm sure he will. Elias was going to play last game as well but backed out at the last moment.
