Hello guys,
I was reading on Illya's slow return from his groin injury and I sort of thought of something... is it possible that he doesnt want to return anytime soon because hes tired of just sitting behind the bench? Is it possible that he just wants to wait until Giggy falters or tires himself? I think Illya may be pissed that he wasnt given the same number of starts in the begining of the season to prove himself and now hes just not going to suit up. Anyone think this may be possible? If so, I think we need to trade him once he decides to come back and play a few games. Then, I also wouldnt be sad to see him go to Toronto or Philly for a Foresberg/Sundin rental...

If we resign Jiggy long term, I wouldn't be the least bit sad to see Ilya traded. Hopefully someone like McKee (is he our top goalie prospect?) is good to go in 3 or 4 years after Jiggy's extension is up and we'll not have to worry about a gap in goaltending.

I'm pretty sure JP is at this point.

Yeah, I was thinking him, but with all the hype of the McKee signing, I thought there might be a change in who would most likely be our starter years from now.

That's the order now.... You have Marsters, but the Ducks view him more as a warm body then a prospect.
As for Bryzgalov's injury....it was pretty severe. I know after the MRI was done, they were still talking surgery, but opted to go with rehab instead.
They aren't expecting him back on the ice for at least two more weeks and it could be mid-January before he back in equipment.

I think sitting out on purpose would hurt Bryzgalov more than hinder him. He obviously wants to be a starter and his play this season hasn't been impressive. If your scenario was true, and he perhaps wasn't as injured as he said he was, then he's not making himself attractive to other teams by not playing. Theoretically, he could even be wrestling starting duties away from Giguere if he was healthy. Who is to say? I would think it is highly unlikely that he is sitting out on purpose.
In any case, it appears he's getting closer. According to the LA Times, he's been on the ice for the past two days. Light exercises and so on.

Yeesh, that's bad news. You'd think the team would have to make a move somewhere in that time.
