Do not know of any TV schedule in Canada/US.

Watch out for HC Davos Topline von Arx-Daigle-Michel Riesen, they dominate the Swiss League and will hopefully have a great tourney too.

It's good to see the two goalies from last year's WJs on the team. I would like to see the Davos line play, it seems like they would be an exciting line.

I wonder what kind of job Stevie Y has? It just says "staff". Maybe they are grooming him for a future position in the Canada front office?

Well I think it has to do with the Spengler Cup not being an international tournament, so it definitely isn't a priority.. It is a club tournament.

Is Davos adding any other Swiss players to the roster for the tournament? I had read somewhere that they generally pick up a few ringers from some of the other clubs in Switzerland for the tourney.

Here's the TV schedule in Canada for the tournament:

December 26 Canada vs. Mora IK (Sportsnet East 3 PM EST, Sportsnet Ontario and HD 3:30 PM EST, Sportsnet West 6 PM EST, Sportsnet Pacific 7 PM EST)

December 27 Canada vs. HC Davos (Sportsnet East 3 PM EST, Sportsnet Ontario and HD 3:30 PM EST, Sportsnet West 6 PM EST, Sportsnet Pacific 7 PM EST)

December 29 Canada vs. Khimik (Sportsnet East 3 PM EST, Sportsnet Ontario and HD 3:30 PM EST, Sportsnet West 6 PM EST, Sportsnet Pacific 7 PM EST)

December 30 Canada vs. Eisbaren Berlin (All Sportsnet regions 3:30 PM EST)

Usually they add non-Swiss players in their roster, to give rest to one or the other player and to be a little more competitive.

Some teams like SC Bern don't let their players participate (injury risk). So no Simon Gamache, Sebastien Bordeleau, Eric Landry, Christian Berglund, Toni Söderholm.

I remember a AHL team, it was Rochester Americans, played the Spengler Cup. They come to Davos without the 3-4 best players. And in the first game, Davos wins the game 9-2 (if it's exact). After this, they recalled these players by the first plane. lol

USA Selects played too in this tournament in the past.

With 34 points and 23 goals in 32 games... they don't really need much secondary scoring, after Brendl it's pretty much spread out.

Teemu Elomo has some nice dekes and tricks, but isn't much of a scorer.

19. P.Jarrett (Jillson, Mueller)
26. O. Petrov on a Penalty shot
27. A. Daigle (Rizzi, Crameri)
45. R. von Arx (Riesen, Daigle) PP
46. Naumenko (Somervuori)

Both goalies (Jonas Hiller Davos, Youri Ziffzer Berlin) played great, Davos had a slight advantage all the game. Berlin took too many penalties. Berlin played without 7 players on the WJC!

These EuroCups are funny. You never know who's coming. I think Davos is in as the host, and they usually invite some non chempion teams from Euroleagues, plus team Canada. There's also a Eurocup that is annually hosted in Hungary, and some team from Hungary that I never heard off hosts it every year. Now the Champion's Cup is more cotrolled there u get some legit Euro Champions and lately it's been hosted by St. Petersburgh, Russia.

Looks like Brendl didn't play for Mora, but they had two ex-Bruins in Kultanen and Huml. Huml I remember had nice hands but was so soft that he couldn't have possibly made it in the NHL of old. As for Kultanen he had some nice games here and there, wasn't too bad at moving the puck but didn't come back after the lock out.

Well this isn't really a "Euro cup" anyway, it's a yearly friendly tournament, not like the Continental Cup which you're probaly thinking of.

Davos plays as the host, traditionally Team Canada is allways invited. Then they try to get the best team aviable in Eastern Europe (Czech or Russian teams) and from the North (Swedish or Finnish teams). This year they really wanted to have a Swedish Team, and as the WJC is in Mora, perfect fit. Then we have a "random" team, they want a team from Germany (great rivalery), or there was also one time US Selects or the Rochester Americans.

The Canada/Berlin game is interesting. Almost a full out brawl with Pogge getting tossed.

I love the European camera angles and it seems everyone is miked up. Hearing the players talk to the ref after the semi-brawl was kind of cool. There is something about this tournament that brings a different dimension to hockey.

The old arena, loud fans and the in your face camera work is fun to watch.
