Is it me or Lou hardly gives theses types a shot....Suglobov for instance try new things yes we rebounded from the 5 and 3 game losing streak but it wouldnt hurt once and a while to see some young guys sit Cam some nights.

Yeah but i think hell get one more hopefully foster will get a shot even. Im strong believer in second chances. I would really liek to see at the end of the season if we get out of any mess $ wise if we can bring Dan McGillis up(even for the playoffs) the guy has taken the demotion like a champ and could add some dano type leadership to the D.

I've heard he's been fairly fantastic in Lowell and has really made some serious changes to his game.

I'd bring McGillis up in the postseason as a 7th or 8th dman no problem. Still though he will always be the guy Elias made a fool out of in game 7 of the 2000 Conference Finals - like his physical play but I just don't think he is that good defensively.

Regarding Papineau - to say anyone is to small when we have the mighty mite himself on our team is not fair - and I think, as the writer aptly puts it here - the kid is just finding his game - he is only 25 - I don't think you can say he won't make it in the NHL. I mean I'm not saying Paps is in his class by any means but the same things were said about St Louis and he didn't really come into his own until around the same age.

well said exactly on the nose regarding Paps:clap: , whats it gonna hurt to give 5 minutes for a couple of games. Trying new things is what life is all about......Papineau is a Giant compared to Gio.

Not when I saw him in November, and he certainly wasn't any better last year with the Rats.

I don't know where you'd put him on a regular shift and agree about Dowd on the 4th line center role but god knows our second power play unit can't get any worse...that's the main thing I personally want to give him a shot for - to see if he can help there because it is brutal.

Greene is much better than McGillis and at a little over a third the price. Dan is down for the duration I'm afraid.

Paps SHOULD get a shot, if he is on a two-way. Mike Rupp could become Mr. Healthy-Scratch for a cup of coffe, at least. Rupper's play has been waaaaay overrated, despite that one nifty, game tying goal (in an otherwise losing effort).

Justin Papineau needs to be given a shot. He has 29 points in 27 games.

And put him where? Not anywhere on the top two lines. Certainly not on the 3rd, so the 4th line? I don't think so.

it seems to be a rule of thumb around here that the 4th line has to be completely devoid of offensive ability. why not try him on the 4th line and maybe squeeze out some offense. people say the team doesnt score enough (and statistically speaking they dont)but people dont want to tinker with the line-up at all. there is no written rule that only 2 lines can score, one line to play exclusively shut down, and one line to exclusively check.

All the sabres lines can put ooints on the board....thats what makes them so scary. What would it hurt to sit a Cam/Rupp/Rass a couple games GIVE PAPS A SHOT.
