Lightning fans, would the team have any interest in trading Sarich for a more offensive defenseman around the same age, but cheaper contract.
I am thinking of the following trade:
Lightning get: Sopel and ???
Canucks get: Sarich
Your thoughts are welcome

No. Sarich is really playing well. Hes a nice solid defensive defenseman which the Lightning need while Sopel just adds to offensive d-men like Kubina and Boyle. Fair value but Sarich's type of play fits better now than Sopel.

I second that. The way he's playing, I have no desire to trade Sarich for someone with more offense.
We could use another guy like him, in fact. :)

Not interested in trading Sarich, he's too valuable to the team.
:handclap: Sarich and Cullimore were just named NHL Co-Defensive Players of the Week today.
Lightning defense tandem Jassen Cullimore and Cory Sarich, who logged 63:53 and 62:17 of ice time, respectively, without being on the ice for a goal-against in Tampa Bay's two victories and one tie, have been named co-winners of the League's Defensive Player of the Week.

Heard that on my way home today, excellent news! Nice to see these two hard working guys get some recognition.

Is this some way of the Canucks trying to avenge us for Cloutier??? Sarich is gonna stay for sure, espeically if Canucks are involved.

At least the Canucks got an NHL player when they traded Adrian Aucoin...

Sorry we won't trade Sarich but how about Luckowich and a 3rd?

I wonder if we could get even a 5th rounder for either Fedotenko or Lukowich.

Feds seems to be well thought of around the league, at least from the fan's standpoint. Most see potential in him to be an excellent 3rd liner. I'd imagine he has some value.
Lukowich, ugh. He looked good in the preseason, he was playing very physical, but lately he does nothing for me. Granted, they all make mistakes, but some of his decision making is poor at best. Still, who to use instead? That doesn't even bear thinking about. I doubt anyone would want Luko.

I think that Fedo can bring us some value but I agree about smirky- man is he playing bad right now. fedo is a 3rd liner who sometimes masquerades as a 2nd liner when he is playing fairly well. Oh well maybe we can get some action from someone. i thinkif this losing streak continues after the loss tonight to the thrashers cheeto jay may look to shake things up and make a trade.
