first of all i want to ask if a team hosting the M.C. has ever won their league championship?

and i was wondering if you think kelowna can win the memorial cup this year? I certainly do, their coaching is second to none. Everything you ask for in a coach, habshceid has it. Their offense was off to a slow start, and will not match last years numbers, but its starting to come around. and their defense is best in the league. Maybe its a bit premature but they definitely are proving to me they arent a fluke.

Thoughts on the Kelowna Rockets 2003-2004?

P.S. anyone got tickets to the memorial cup(answer is yes if you are a season ticket holder, 1(!!!) person who had seasons tickets didnt request memorial cup tickets)

Will need some scoring up front if we are going to do anything this year

My parents have tickets for Memorial Cup and a buddy at work is on the waiting list. So I should get to a few games ! :yo:

Kamloops Blazers 1995. They were down 2-0 to Brandon in the WHL final and came back in 4 straight. It rarely happens because most teams just kick back and relax and don't play for urgency cause they already got the free ticket.

I can't think of many occasions where the Memorial Cup host wasn't at least in their league final. The only 2 that I can name off the top of my head are Spokane and Ottawa within the last 5 years.

Correct my if I am wrong but did Regina not crap out way before the league finals?

It will not be too surprising if Kelowna doesnt make it to the WHL final. PA, SC, Kamloops, Spokane, Vancouver all look very good this year and it will be a battle for anyone to get to the final.

Just out of curiosity, why did you include Prince Albert and Swift Current in a group with Kamloops, Kelowna, Spokane and Vancouver in a battle to make the WHL Final?

UHHH....I am just wondering why you'd would ask such a question? Last time I looked Prince Albert and Swift Current play in the WHL. So when two teams play in the WHL Finals, it means that ANY two teams can play in the WHL Finals. I picked those two teams because imho I think they have a good chance to play in the finals. Now someone from the East/Central is allowed to play in the league finals you know, not just BC teams.

Also wondering about my Regina question, they did not make the WHL Finals, but were left off your list.

While I think Kelowna can win the Memorial Cup this year I dont think they will unless we get someone who can fill the net... Their coaching and defence are second to none, but the lack of scoring frightens me...

season ticket holder here... Cant wait till may...

Kelowna's system is sick indeed. But they had the team to do it last year and are half the team this year. Unless they get some scoring they aren't gonna win anything. Very easy to catch Guard napping as you can tell when he gets a shot on goal it looks like he day dreams and gets a immediate reaction.

You could put a cardboard cut out and it would do the same job as Guard.

Kamloops adds another vet d-man they are on their way, and they showed they can play Kelowna's style and beat em at it to last night.

While Guard is not the best goalie in the league he is far from a cardboard cut-out... You dont get stats like he has had over the last 2 years by napping... 6 shutouts so far this year and 6 shoutouts last year and goals against in both years well below 2... Sure the team has been pretty good, and while he does not often make a lot of saves in a game he still has to make them...

It would be pretty neat though if Kamloops made the Memorial Cup... Would make for a pretty exciting tournament...

Kelowna's system is sick? Don't know what you mean by that!

They have half the team as last year? With a couple trades this team will be better than last years team. I don't think they will have to sell to much of the future to reach there goals.

Put cardboard in goal? What ever that's a dumb remark, by that you said the rest of the league is a joke, I don't think so

Kamloops add's vet d-man? Maybe, but you haven't seen the Rocket offense yet, top five forwards aren't producing right now, time will tell!

Their system is sick I meant that its terrific and very tenacious, fast forechecking its hard to get the puck into their zone. When I say sick I mean it as a very good thing.

Cardboar cut out in goal in other words thats how good the defence is for the Rockets anyone or anything could pad the stats that Guard has.
