I'm incredibly pissed off about the Sens game Saturday...I have very little personal time (law exams in just over a month) and it takes a lot of effort to make time to watch games, even on the weekends...so to see an effort like Saturday's angers me on more than one level. I only have a week or so left where I can watch entire games, and I'd like to see at least one top-to-bottom, 60 minute effort. Tonight would be a good night.

Yay for nationally televised games! First game I get to watch on my actual TV! (Don't get me wrong, getting to watch games over the internet is awesome, but still not quite the same) :devdance:

The Devils had better come out flying and get a 'W' tonight.

I'm glad to hear that many Devils were dissapointed and/or embarassed about the 8-1 loss. It tells me that they know it was a major screw up and it suggests they'll try very hard not to lose another game by such a large margin in both scoring and dominance from the other team.

Fortunately, the Devils will play Pittsburgh. I hope for a repeat of last week's performance against the Pens, except with a far better performance on the power play. The stats say they are 19th in the NHL, but recently, it hasn't been NHL worthy.

The turnaround begins tonight and should continue for the rest of the week when they play Florida and Columbus.

I missed Saturday's game so I can't comment on how bad they played but hopefully they will react well to Julien basically giving them a free pass for such a bad game. Somehow I don't think they will get a second one if it happens again.

I was just wondering how you get to watch the games on the internet? I am an Devils fan up here in Ottawa (yeah I was at the game on Saturday) without access to the games. The only time I get to watch the games on TV is when they play Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto. The rest of the time I listen to the game on net radio.

You can't get all the games, but you can get some. Yahoo.com streams some games (though I'm not sure it works in Canada), and you can also download this TVU player thing (more on that here (http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=299724&highlight=TVU+player)) which also shows Devs games sometimes.

Brodeur is the furthest thing from any definition of the world problem with the Devils right now. Not even Terry Sawchuk or Ken Dryden can make those saves when he's helpless on the ice and getting no offensive help either.

I do believe it is time to at least give the fourth line a game without jansen. since it seems it will tight games all year the nine forward lineup is going to get tough.

Everything you say is true. The Devils came out hustling for about the first ten minutes, and have not really been skating since then.

When he's on top of his game he's making fancy moves for a purpose, either to give himself space or give a teammate space. Now he's making pointless silly moves for no reason. His 7 points are phantom points (similar to Ziggy Palffy's PPG pace last year for the Pens), and he looks uninspring out there.

One line looked good tonight (Parise-Gomez-Gionta), and even they weren't consistent. The others looked like crap (checking line included). At least Brylin was trying to make a comeback. And Lukowich looked hideous on that last goal.

Julien was nice after last game, clearly that didn't work. Time to try the tough-guy approach.

I read in the papar Julian took it easy on the fellas after the 8-1 loss. well that strategy did not work so we know whats coming now.

yes these last two games have been awful but they have also shown some real promise this year as well, so lets not get too bent out of shape just yet.

1. more aggresive forecheck
2. defensman holding the blue line ( in offensive zone)

Doesn't matter where Luko plays, he sucks whichever defensive pairing he's on. If he sucks on Thursday, then he can get benched too. White's the one making the big bucks and should be playing up to the salary he's playing for.

Good question. All I know is that he's got a job within the organization. I remember last playoffs during the Sens/Lightening series CBC interviewed Burns who was at a game in T-Bay and he was wearing a Devils cap and kept refering to the Devils as "WE"...which is a good thing.

I agree! Put young players with skill on the fourth line. Not dinosaurs who have no place in the new NHL.

Edit: On that note, I would love for our fourth line to be Tallackson-Dowd-Clarkson once Dowd gets healthy. That's a 4th line that can play more than 5 minutes a game.

Parise truely was a steal in the 2003 draft, he is the only one showing a consistant effort every night and every game. Parise is a future leader on this team. Parise and Zajac will be up front for years to come.
