We're ranked #7.
The Devils' top-heavy lineup has a chance to get even better as the season goes along if former Fighting Sioux stars Zach Parise and Travis Zajac can continue to improve the team's secondary scoring.
I'm glad we got a 9 spot bump, but the logic of the comment confuses me...Zajac and Parise are playing on the top two lines, so if they start scoring more, wouldn't that make our lineup more top-heavy, not less? Not that that would be a bad thing, mind you...

If all the Devils forwards play to potential they have a top six that can challenge Buffalo for the best group of forwards.

I don't think there's a team in the league that can match Buffalo for depth.

That's the thing though...Langenbrunner doesn't always play like a 2nd line right winger, and Zajac, while looking better than Parise did at this point last season, isn't lighting the world on fire. I think for a top 4 yeah, the Devils challenge anyone in the league, but there are teams with better players than Zajac and Langenbrunner.

Yeah thats what I ment by playing up to potential. Elias, Gomez, and Gionta, are as good as it gets for the most part and the other three definately have potential to at least put up 55+ points. Thats if all the cards fall into place.

Why stop at top six? I'd put our shutdown line up against any in the league.

Yeah, Pandolfo-Madden-Langenbrunner/Brylin is a strong unit that can handle even the most elite lines. Right now they're taking good care of the Jagr unit.
