CB goaltending situation..

With the probability of Fleury returning to Cape Breton, how much playing time is he looking to get? It may sound ridiculous, but with Houle's numbers and the way the team is playing, they may not want to disrupt such a good thing.

Could Fleury be dealt? Could Houle be dealt? Would Fleury have to reclaim the starting job?

Cap Breton is a contending team.. so they will not trade Fleury, especially to another team that is in contention (considering only those teams would logically need to have him).

Houle would be traded to Lewiston for Nashville draft pick Richard Stehlik.

If I were Cape Breton I would trade Fleury for another dmen, just to solidify the team.

Then if you owned the team you'd have no fan base.

The #2 team in the CHL gets the NHL's rookie of the month for October sent to them, and you suggest TRADING HIM? Use your head. Houle is good, but he is NOT Marc-Andre Fleury. NOBODY IS. Fleury is the best. And you do not trade the best.

If Fleury comes back I'd put money on Houle going to Lewiston or Bathurst in a deal for Shtehlik or Gervais

Fleury has a hell of alot more value then Houle and Houle as a starter has outplayed Fleury as a starter even considering the situations. The team is winning with Houle, I would leave it that way.

Fleury has value to who? Gatineau? PEI? Rimouski? Sure. Lets trade the best player in the league to our competition.

Houle outplayed Fleury? What the hell are you smoking? Fleury was 17 last time we had a contender. And that team was not as good as this team is. Fleury at 18 was the best goalie in the Q, best goalie at the WJHC, and best goalie available in the NHL draft. Fleury at 19? Scary thought.

Going into the playoffs WILLINGLY with a rookie goaltender is a mistake. Even if Fleury stays in Pitt, we will acquire a backup for Houle, just in case.

The team is winning with Houle. The team would be doing even better with an upgrade in goal. And if you dont think Fleury is better then Houle, RIGHT NOW, then dont even bother replying to this post.

It's sure that if Fleury come back to Cap Breton, Houle will be traded. Houle is doing a very good job, but if the Eagles wants to win the Memorial Cup, they will be more comfortable with Fleury to lead them, just like he did with Team Canada last year.

I would love to have Houle in Rimouski, because he could be back next year, but there is no chance that Rimouski and CP are going to trade.

Gatineau will probably look for a goalie around Xmas time because they want to go for the memorial cup once again and we would gladly take a guy like Fleury :yo:

Someone is getting a little mad, if you can't control your temper you shouldn't be on here. Its my opinion, I would rather trade him, his value is worth more to this team then the upgrade in goal.

Not mad, just frustrated that someone actually thinks Houle is better then Fleury and would even suggest trading Fleury.

I like the notion of Houle for Stehlik however Stehlik is 20 right now and won't get much more mileage in the Q. My personal opinion is that Stehlik is overated. He is not a physical player despite his size and he doesn't hustle. Only my opinion mind you...

Shtehlik is an 84, therefore he is a 19yr old in the Q. And I've only seen Shtehlik twice, but both times he was a dominant player.

Stehlik for his size should actually play more physcial, but if you do in the Q you will get all kinda of minor penalites. It happened here in Halifax last year with Milan Jurcina. He was 6'5 230 and he would kill guys along the boards, but since he was so big he would take some elbowing penalites and such.

Stehlik blends offense with defense. He is a great all-around dman.

Sorry I goofed on his age but I still stand firm on his lack of effort, He must put on a better effort on the road because I have seen him in several games here at home and I don't see him as dominant. Effective at his position, yes, for the most part. Yes I can see now that his size may make him a target for penalties but there has to be a happy medium somewhere because I think it would improve his effectiveness.

Stehlik looked ok to me when I saw him in Lewiston last weekend, but other than the fact he was drafted wasn't very memorable. The goalie for Lewiston definitely could be replaced. Some of the stops he missed were weak to say the least. All in all, hockey is great for Lewiston, glad they got a team.
