Last game of the pre-season and therefore, a REALLY really important game for St. Jacques, O'Brien, Thornton, Brent, and Shannon. Should be a good one.

"Injuries Have Not Been a Problem", LATIMES

Veteran forward Travis Green has been the only player to miss an extended period of time with a hip problem, but he skated through a full practice Friday and may suit up tonight.
Ducks Coach Randy Carlyle was impressed with his team's fitness at the beginning of camp and said there is more than good fortune behind their ability to stay healthy.
"It speaks to the organization's mandate to our playing personnel that conditioning is going to be a huge asset in them moving forward as a professional," Carlyle said. "We're going to spend the time and effort in making sure they're educated in that area."
Marchant said their conditioning is especially needed to maintain their aggressive forechecking style over a long season.
"We're always doing a little extra here and there, whether it's on the ice or off," he said. "Hopefully it will pay off down the road when we're going to need it."

LETS GO DUCKS!!!! :) :yo: :yo:
Aeryn 09-30-2006, 08:44 PM DFC...you have entirely too much free time on your hands. ;)
Nice GDT!
Coyotes seem to be playing a good line up, wit no Laraque though. This should be a good game.
hockeydemon05 09-30-2006, 09:05 PM Nice GDT.
one hour to game time...Go Ducks!
snarktacular 09-30-2006, 09:20 PM Is it just me, or does that arena look like a mall?
wheeler1* 09-30-2006, 09:27 PM It's a beautiful areana! It's much better than the ducks areana.
Aeryn 09-30-2006, 09:49 PM Mighty 1090 online feed

Aeryn 09-30-2006, 09:51 PM What can I say? I just that good. ;)
Ducksforcup 09-30-2006, 09:54 PM Thank you, thank you for the compliments everyone. :)
And yes, I do have a lot of free time on my hand. During every Saturday, I am rejoicing not being at school and doing absolutley nothing, except fun stuff!!! :handclap: :yo: :D  :propeller
BTW, no one has answered the trivia question? :D It is a toughie.
snarktacular 09-30-2006, 09:54 PM Don't get me wrong, I like it. I'm partial to the southwest colors. But it does look a lot like a mall, and a little bland. The Pond is decent looking, but it is distinctive and recognizable with the big round window.
Our top pairings are playing tonight.
Nieds - Beauchemin
Pronger - O'Donell
Jerky Leclerc 09-30-2006, 10:04 PM Thank you, thank you for the compliments everyone. :)

I'm going to guess Mike Leclerc.
Ducksforcup 09-30-2006, 10:04 PM Scratches: Shannon, St. Jacques, Marchant, McDonald, Selanne, and DiPenta.
Odd that they scratched Shannon and St. Jacques.

Shannon probably made the team. St. Jacques is out of the running so no need to give him a final game. Welcome to Anaheim Shane O'brien.
Good luck Tim Brent!
Jerky Leclerc 09-30-2006, 10:13 PM Chistov-Pahlsson-Niedermayer to start the game.
Sounds like a good line.

Jerky Leclerc 10-01-2006, 12:05 AM The Ducks need to fill their water bottle with Red Bull. The team is falling asleep.

Ducksforcup 10-01-2006, 12:23 AM Ducks 2 man advantage now. Who woulda thunk it? :dunno:
snarktacular 10-01-2006, 12:25 AM Why do they keep putting R Nieds on the PP? Penner seems like the perfect choice for a big body in the crease.
Jerky Leclerc 10-01-2006, 12:26 AM I hope Brent gets a goal. It could mean the difference between staying in the NHL or going back to Portland.
stalbert1 10-01-2006, 12:26 AM Why do they keep putting R Nieds on the PP? Penner seems like the perfect choice for a big body in the crease.

He is having an excellent game. Best player on the ice imo.
Jerky Leclerc 10-01-2006, 12:36 AM Brent is getting a big chance from Carlyle.
Ducksforcup 10-01-2006, 12:37 AM OT now. Ducks will have a 4 on 3 PP for thirty-three seconds.

Phoenix PP. :help:

Static 10-01-2006, 12:44 AM Ah, Pronger only has 7 shots. He needs to get more rubber on the net...
Ducksforcup 10-01-2006, 12:45 AM Ducks take another penalty.
49 seconds left in the period though.
Jiggy made a game saving save as well. :yo:
snarktacular 10-01-2006, 12:45 AM Man Carlyle isn't pulling any punches. It doesn't seem like Pronger's gotten off the ice.

ah crap two guys in the box in OT
so what is that 4 on 2?
Jerky Leclerc 10-01-2006, 12:47 AM We will rue the day we traded Joel Perrault.
I'm sure Brian Burke is having a sleepless night tonight.
snarktacular 10-01-2006, 12:47 AM That's interesting. So they make it 5 on 3 instead of 4 on 2. I think 4 on 2 would be cooler.
Static 10-01-2006, 12:48 AM ah crap two guys in the box in OT

nah, 5-3. Doesnt matter, we suck in OT.
Jerky Leclerc 10-01-2006, 12:49 AM nah, 5-3. Doesnt matter, we suck in OT.
I thought it was shootout that we suck.
snarktacular 10-01-2006, 12:50 AM We will rue the day we traded Joel Perrault.
So let me get this straight. Joel Perreault scores on a power play created by a penalty taken by the guy he was traded for. Players involved in that trade are killing us from both sides!
Ducksforcup 10-01-2006, 12:51 AM The Ducks goal was scored by GOD from Rob Niedermayer and Todd Fedoruk.
All of them getting their first points of the pre-season.
Overall, not a good game. PP sounded good, especially in the third period. Jiggy and Pronger were the best Ducks tonight.
Randall Graves* 10-01-2006, 12:58 AM I'm sure Brian Burke is having a sleepless night tonight.
This means we need to sign Yanic.

I can take a positive out of this game.
It sounded like Giguere was tested quite a bit and played pretty well. As good as Bryzgalov can be, a healthy Giguere is the guy we need to take us all the way..
Jerky Leclerc 10-01-2006, 01:03 AM If anyone is keeping score, Lupul scores a goal and assist tonight in a 3-2 win against the Canucks. Just saying...

Thats what Im saying.
Firmly on the Giguere is the No1 bandwagon now.
McDonald19 10-01-2006, 01:58 AM I've had enough of the pre-season...time to play some meaningful games.
A couple of players have made the case to remain with the team despite their 2-way contracts (Brent, Thornton)...and a couple of players have made the case to be cut despite their 1-way contracts (Green, Moen)...Is Burke willing to make it happen?
Looks like O'Brien has made the team. St. Jacques is the only player still with the team to be scratched for both of the last two pre-season games.
Cerebral 10-01-2006, 02:57 AM If anyone is keeping score, Lupul scores a goal and assist tonight in a 3-2 win against the Canucks. Just saying...
And Pronger played 30 minutes with 7 shots on goal and 5 blocked shots. Lupul has been great for the Oilers but we'll take Pronger back if you don't want him anymore (you can keep his family)... :)
yotes#26 10-01-2006, 03:07 AM Thank you Mr. Burke for Joel Perrault!!!
The last 2 games against Anaheim Perrault recorded 1 goal and 3 assists (4 points).
You can keep O'donell..........

Thornton is redundant with Fedoruk on the team, he's gone IMO. Comes down to Green vs. Brent and I think the veteran wins.
McDonald19 10-01-2006, 04:39 AM Thornton is redundant with Fedoruk on the team, he's gone IMO. Comes down to Green vs. Brent and I think the veteran wins.
in that case is Moen redundant with Fedoruk on the team?
I think Thornton is in a battle with Moen for the last forward spot (healthy scratch most nights spot). I guess Moen is a slightly better hockey player than Thornton, but Thornton is a better fighter than Moen. Moen has the 1-way contract so he will stay and Thornton will be cut.
Spankatola Jamnuts 10-01-2006, 04:41 AM Pretty much. How often did we see them both in the lineup when everyone was healthy?
McDonald19 10-01-2006, 04:47 AM Pretty much. How often did we see them both in the lineup when everyone was healthy?
Not very often, but it's nice to have an extra tough guy waiting to get in the lineup when we are up against our division rivals. The Kings and Coyotes will have very physical lineups this season.
white_tiger 10-01-2006, 05:11 AM Naggy?

I think Carlyle will probably agree with you, leaving Moen as the frequent healthy scratch and Thornton ticketed for Portland.
