According to NHL.com, teams must submit their opening day rosters by "the start of the regular season." Is there an actual date that has been set as a deadline? Or is it assumed to be before the first NHL game played on Oct 4th? Or the day before the first NHL game is played, so Oct 3rd? Or before the team's first game, so for the Ducks- before Oct 6th? Seems like a simple enough question, but I found NHL.com to be too vague. Oct 4th or the 3rd would be my guess.
In other words, when we can expect to officially find out the Ducks opening night roster? Thanks!

The NHL season starts on October 4, and all transactions for a day have a 5:00pm Eastern cut-off time to be effective for that day for salary cap purposes.
I'd say 5:00pm Eastern on October 4, though most teams will clarify well before then. However, it's a pure guess and Aeryn (who posted after I did) may be more accurate on the exact deadline. (It's not something I worry about.)

Just an educated guess but...
Last year, the season opened on 10/5
Rosters were due by 3:00pm ET on 10/4
So I'd guess by 3:00pm ET on 10/3

I was soooo close with my guess ;)
We already know ours, but just in case......
All NHL teams must submit their final rosters to the league by 2 p.m. Tuesday.
