Rejio Routsenlainen was as lazy as the day is long when he played here. We shipped him to Edmonton at the deadline in 1990, and he helped the Oilers win the cup that season. Playing with Tikkanen and Kurri helped "motivate" his ***.
Though, in his defense, when he was here in NJ, he did "smooth" the transition to North America for Janne Ojanen. Ojanen scored 17 goals in 1990, then hightailed it back to Finland after the season ended.
I guess he wasn't too keen on getting his face smashed in by Dale Hunter and Scott Stevens.

I like #6 better - that is the best description of Eklund yet, and exposes him quite well.
But in response to Lou, I don't know how he's going to do it - I keep saying that he's over the cap WITH Gomez and still has to sign Gionta, Hale and Martin - and he's gonna do this HOW???
He has to let someone go, he just has to.

Several pieces will go, but with injury unkowns still out there (Weimer, Matvichuk, Malakhov?) just how much has to go remains to be seen.
Gomez and Rafalski, being the top two $ guys not named Elias and Brodeur, are always front and center as trade bait... But there is still the hope of moving Almo and Malakhov for pucks and a slushee.

I kind of liked the fact that he talks all over # 3 about "Drinking the Kool Aid" for Lou, but submarines him near the end of # 10 with this gem:
Meanwhile, the Oilers locked up Ales Hemsky, who's creeping closer to being a 90-point player, for six years. They signed playoff hero Fernando Pisani for four. They also didn't panic post-Pronger and toss free agent money to anyone with a 'D' in front of their names — that's how you end up with stiffs like Vlad Malakhov and Dan McGillis eating up cap room (right, Lou?).

I kind of liked the fact that he talks all over # 3 about "Drinking the Kool Aid" for Lou, but submarines him near the end of # 10 with this gem:We will see how a team that barely made the playoffs in 2005-06 will do in 2006-07. And Dan McGillis likely will not be eating up any cap space because he is likely headed to Lowell of the AHL.
