DevilsFan38 08-09-2006, 12:54 PM Six of the Devils games will be televised on OLN this year - that's a threefold increase from last year! Woohoo!
October 24th, 7:00, Devils vs. Penguins
November 7th, 7:00, Hurricanes vs. Devils
November 14th, 7:00, Devils vs. Rangers
November 27th, 10:00, Devils vs. Kings
December 12th, 7:00, Sabres vs. Devils
March 27th, 7:30, Devils vs. Islanders
I don't know what's with the big gap - we go from three games in November to none is January or February. But still, good news for out-of-staters like me!
Easton 08-09-2006, 01:32 PM Mad props, OLN.
You get OLN with your campus cable?
AfroThunder396 08-09-2006, 01:32 PM Those should all be entertaining games to watch. I'm looking forward to these games.
Easton 08-09-2006, 01:37 PM What's even crazier is that the Devils will be on NBC this year. :amazed:
2/11, 3:30 PM
TB vs. NJ
4/1, 12:30
BOS vs. NJ
4/8, 1:00 PM
NYI vs. NJ
Jonathan. 08-09-2006, 01:52 PM October 24th, 7:00, Devils vs. Penguins
There wasn't a better game on than this one!?
With that said, the rest of the games are solid and should be a fun time.
But Pittsburgh VS NJD?? Weird choice...

Yup, it's sweet. Not really sure why we get it, but I'm not gonna question it.

I guess they figured it might be good because we're in the same division? The Devils/Kings game baffled me, but I guess they were looking for the second game of a double-header and that was the best (or only) option.
Exit56 08-09-2006, 02:01 PM As bad as they were Pittsburgh beat us a few times last season... Maybe they wanna show as much Sid as possible.. who knows..

Not at all strange that Pittsburgh is on there. They were by far the most-aired team last year with Kid Crosby's coming-out party. It is wierd to see NJ though. I remember the year they won the cup in 2003, that next year they actually decreased in the amount of games aired on ESPN/The Deuce. No love.
Tao Jones 08-09-2006, 03:38 PM Crosby vs. Brodeur?
Who's gonna wanna watch that?
:)

I think Crosby scored more points against us than anyone else did. He had 12 points in 8 games, I don't know the numbers but he probably scored the most against us than any other team.
MissionHockey 08-09-2006, 04:26 PM I'm not that thrilled that the Devils will be playing a lot of games on OLN. I don't have OLN and I probably won't have it when I go to college either. I'll have to go to a bar or restaurant to watch the game.
My school doesn't carry OLN either, but I'll at least get to watch them on NBC. Doc should be doing the call as well, so that will give me a little flavor of home.
However, I remember reading on these boards that games will be aired online by OLN/Comcast, as well as Yahoo!. Does anyone have any information regarding this? The webcasts during the playoffs were absolutely fantastic, and I'd like to see them again
Colin Whites Eye 08-09-2006, 05:37 PM woooo i love national games when im at school

It would make more sense for just 1 less PITT game. It doesn't make any sense as it wouldn't make sense for a PITT NYI or a PITT NYR game either as there is no rivalry there.

I wonder if this was drawn up when they thought Malkin would be in Pittsburgh this year... :dunno:
fIREnIcE 08-09-2006, 11:36 PM Guys common its VERSUS now.......what were they thinking. IMO hockey will be back on ESPN when the contract is up I think B. Melrose know something we don't
crashlanding 08-10-2006, 02:17 AM For further insight on the reason for NJ-Pitt on October 24...
The schedule for that night:
New Jersey at Pittsburgh, 7 p.m.
Ottawa at Toronto, 7:30 p.m.
Phoenix at Calgary, 9 p.m.
Three canadian teams, you can't blame OLN for putting on the awful matchup between NJ and Pitt.

Def it is a hassle....here in NY it is 408(cablevision) its a pain to surf that high alone, not considering the produciton value is considerably lower than espn. half the time they jsut steal the tsn broadcast.
Jonathan. 08-10-2006, 03:36 AM OLN/Versus is a hell of a lot better than ESPN ever was.
**** ESPN. Let them have Women's Curling.

Well it is an exclusive night so the NHL tried not to schedule many games so it could be a possibility that this is a match-up that OLN/VS wantedIt's not like last year where they just picked a game from that day.
Stevedude530 08-10-2006, 10:45 AM Who knows, maybe the Penguins'll be good for a month.
And Sidney Crosby scored more times on the Devils than any other opponent since like 2000, when Jumbo Joe scored 6 I think.
DevilFisch 08-10-2006, 04:59 PM Cool, the Devils are getting the TV time they deserve. 9 non-local televised games.
Regarding October 24th, Crosby is a superstar and he's on Pittsburgh; hence, he'll command more VS. TV time. Plus, I'd always put a Devils game on VS. over a Toronto game anyhow :)
Blackjack 08-11-2006, 12:24 AM They'd rather show that ****** game than Ottawa @ Toronto!?!??!?!
JESUS!
Two Canadian teams, they'd show Florida vs. Nashville before they'd show that.
