I agree. I think that the lack of goaltending prospects in the system makes Frazee a little overrated. I know he has a lot of potential, but he was god-awful this year.
thefiestygoat 08-06-2006, 10:24 PM Zharkov, and he seems to have quite a big lead at this point.
Belizarius 08-07-2006, 04:09 AM Zharkov, no doubt, though it's going to be tight for the rest.
Add TJ Miller, or Bryan Miller IMO.
Then Jason Smith... ;)

What the hell are you talking about? Here (http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid%5B%5D=87898). And I watch about every Minnesota Gopher match on FSN, so I saw Frazee and this apparent terrible season. He had a couple of bad matches against some good teams. He also ended the season with two shutouts as the tournaments neared. If anything, he was inconsistent . . . but he was a freshman, so he gets a pass. What do some of you guys expect from these 18-year-olds -- polish? Before we discard the kid, let's wait and see what he does this year.
JimEIV 08-07-2006, 10:35 AM Not to crazy about how this list is shaping up....
I personally think Greene is way to high and Ryznar doesn't belong in the top 15 let alone top 10.

Why doesn't Ryznar belong in the top 15? He's a good defensive forward who's really good along the boards and is a pretty safe bet to reach the NHL as a defensive forward/grinder.
Who, not already picked, would you rank above Ryznar?

Don't worry about it. I had just finished rebuffing JP about the same thing, so I was a little pissed. Frazee needs to step it up this season and be more consistent, but he was successful his first season for Minnesota. JP likes to point out all our causes of concern (and make up some **** if he has to) under the guise of a semi-interested party who just so happens to be a Ranger fan. I take about everything he says with a salt-block chaser.

I'd still like to see how Frazee does once he gets the starting job, goaltending prospects are so hard to handicap I really feel anything can happen.

When ranking a prospect, you can go by either by long term upside and potential or a guy like Ryznar who is by no means spectacular, but probably a safe bet to play in the league someday. There are more players in the system that have more upside than Ryznar, but Ryznar is more of a safe bet than guys like Vasyunov, Zharkov, Davis, etc...

Hey, if you don't want my input then I won't give it. But don't say that I make things up. That's not my business. I'm a fairly passionate follower of the NCAA and of USA hockey.
If you don't want my opinion -- fine. But if you want to try and tarnish my name with your flaming, you're doing the exact thing you claimed I did -- "make up some ****".
Jonathan. 08-07-2006, 04:35 PM BTW, I went with Davis here. Seems to be a good be to be a solid NHLer.

Please. You may be a passionate follower of NCAA and USA hockey, but your view is tarnished by your own bias. Nothing wrong with that. It IS human, but there is a reason that I don't go over to Ranger boards and tell Ranger fans what I think of their prospects: I have the same bias. Deny it if you want, but when I look back at a majority of your posts, it is obvious. These boards are free. You can post what you want, where you want. But if you can look at yourself in the mirror and honestly tell yourself that you give unbiased opinions about a team you'd love to decimate, you're only lying to your reflection.
And I don't need to tarnish your name, Jon. I'm just pointing out your bias on OUR board. Some guys actually look at the number of posts and think it somehow equals hockey knowledge. This may be the case with you and Ranger knowledge, but I don't like it when you come in HERE and post your tainted mess about our players. If DEVILS fans want to slam certain players in OUR system with FACTS, bring 'em on. Heck, I don't even mind other teams' fans coming in here with information about our players in-system. But I don't believe your sheepish disposition in regard to posting in here. You're biased. I want everybody in here to know you are biased because I don't want young Devils fans to think So-n-so sucks because Jon and his I-M-O-posts are gospel. Keep posting though. Just don't be offended if I'm right behind you disagreeing with your bias.
AfroThunder396 08-07-2006, 05:16 PM All right guys, calm down. I don't want this to get locked on #10/20.
DevilsFan38 08-07-2006, 10:02 PM All right guys, play nice. You can debate opinions on prospects, but keep your opinions on other posters to yourselves.

I've given major props to a number of your prospects including guys like Ryznar, Davis, Tallackson, and a few others who I think are solid prospects.
I could care less if you think I have some bias when talking about how good someone has the potential to be or if they are sure to be good or whatnot. If you think that, that's your own issue.
I'm glad you are going on this mission to have "everybody in here... know" I'm biased. It makes me thankful that there is someone who actually has a MISSION to somehow stalk down my every post and try and debunk me.
On a side note, I feel that Davis is getting pretty underrated in regards to the rankings. He's definately a solid prospect with a nice upside.
