I think it started around the 7th or 10th or something last season. missK 08-03-2006, 10:10 PM Lightning training camp starts on Sept 14th this season and I'm pretty sure that the NHL dicates the earliest date each year that camp can start. The Lightning camp has started anywhere from the 12th-14th that last couple of years. The Traverse City rookie tournament will be held Sept 8-12 this year so I suspect that NHL camps will start after those date. No Training Camp activity, including photographs and medical examinations, shall be performed prior to the official opening of Training Camp, and no 50-game pension credit Players shall be permitted to participate in any Training Camp activity prior to the official opening of Training Camp for them.
