crashlanding 08-03-2006, 12:01 AM Is it okay to vote Vasyunov yet, Jon Prescription?;)
JimEIV 08-03-2006, 07:16 AM I think this is a good spot for Vasyunov

Not when Ryznar is still there. I'd also debate on putting Voros before him as well.
Brooklyndevil 08-03-2006, 02:22 PM Due to the Russian transfer situation, I went with Fraser. This kid could possible make the team in 07/08.
lucscaps 08-03-2006, 03:44 PM I went with j-ryz, he already spent some time on the big club and could make it as a grinder if marshall/weimer/rassmussen aren't back.

First he's going to have to prove that he can even play in the NCAA before he even thinks about the NHL.
He was downright awful most of the time last year. A fairly big disappointment, IMO. I expected a lot more from him.
I've heard rumblings that he won't even be the starter this year and that he could bolt to the WHL.
18Sarge 08-03-2006, 05:53 PM Im actually suprised that Patrick Davis hasnt made an appearence on the list. While only being one year out of the draft, it was a pretty good year for him, and he certainly is looking better then Parise and probably Fraser right now.

Jon, are you thinking of the right guy here? Or am I just missing something???:dunno: These comments are about Mark Fraser right???
Jared Ramsden 08-03-2006, 06:53 PM I'm quite enjoying watching this list get assembled, as I compile my own list for the next new Top 20....Lots of different viewpoints....I'd love to contribute more to this poll, but then that would ruin the suspense of the new list!:)
AfroThunder396 08-03-2006, 07:16 PM I figured this would be fun. It'd be great to see how the fans opinions differ from the writters.

No, Jeff Frazee.
It's a widely held opinion that he was pretty bad last year.
Kellen Briggs is likely to retain the starting role over Frazee.
Frazee REALLY needs to work on his work ethic and conditioning and fast. He's been very unimpressive.
I watched 10 out of the 12 games that Frazee played last year and he was just not very good.

The other poster was talking about Mark Fraser.

Hmmmm. I swore he said Frazee there before!

No, I wrote Fraser. Heck you got me confused because I remember reading that he was signed and will be playing in Lowell this season.

Well, Goddamnit, change it to Frazee so I don't look blind.

Seriously, I don’t think the Devils believe Frazee is the apparent heir to Marty. He's just a depth pick. In the next couple of years I can see the Devils taking a goaltender in the first round if there's someone they really like. Although, I believe they rather not take a goalie in the first. Just look what happened to our last first round goaltender and just look where Lundquvist was drafted. Goaltenders are more of a crapshoot then any other position player in my opinion.

What??? When was he awful? He had a slow start after returning from tean USA, but after that he played very well. He ended the season with a 2 game shutout streak!! He let up a terrible goal in relief against SCSU in the WCHA semi's and all of a sudden his entire season was awful? Thats crazy. The only games I remember him playing badly(beside the SCSU game) were home games against Wisconsin(I think they were shutout 5-0) and UND where it was tied going into the 3rd and Travis Zajac beat Frazee late in the period.
Talent is not Frazee's problem. His attitude and his motivation are his question marks.
EagleBelfour 08-04-2006, 10:57 AM Alexander Vasyunov
Jason Ryznar
Vladimir Zharkov
Aaron Voros

In my opinion Voros has lost his spot to David Clarkson

In my opinion he hasn't. :)
lucscaps 08-04-2006, 12:31 PM I think Fraser is going to surprise alot of people. He'll be a call up this year for sure. He's going to anchor the third pairing soon, then in 5 years he'll be our top shut down guy.
My bad, wrong guy, they both started in Kitchener and I got them confused. But I saw alot of Storm games between the two and he is going to be real good.

Davis?? :dunno: LW Patrick Davis??? Is going to anchor our Defense???
Wait I'm confused.
