Honestly, Barker has all the tools, but I really don't want to lose Gomer.

If you change it to one pick, and make it a 3rd, I think I would do that. Calder really gives his all every game and if he gets some talented linemates in NJ, could probably be a 70 point player. I know Barker is very highly touted, so he would definitely bolster our core of defensemen prospects.

Gomez and Calder are both impending UFA, and my guess would be that Gomez has more value, so Barker evens that out. Good proposal.

Gomez wouldn't be able to net Ruutu and Barker. And besides, Ruutu has been so injury prone lately that I dunno if I would really want him.

We really don't have the cap space for either Barker or Calder though, especially Calder because he doesn't fit in our plans.

You made a post that you thought was a joke, nobody else saw it that way. With some of the proposals we see on this board your response wasn't readily apparent as a joke.

Voros19 just tried to help you out so you wouldn't be misunderstood the next time you make a joke. Your "high horse" comment showed that you need to take it easy. It's your business what smiley you want to use, but if you want to be understood you should probably use :sarcasm: when you joke.

It's pretty tantalizing, I like Calder and Barker is the kind of stud d-man prospect the Devils sorely lack.

I can't see this happening for two reasons. The devils would only shed 2 mil in cap space and losing Gomer without getting a center in return makes trading Brylin much tougher. An even bigger reason why this seems unlikely is that I can't see the Hawks trading Cam Barker. I they may be willing to include just about any of their d-man prospects other than Baker.

In rumors I've heard about this trade, Lou was asking about Keith.
