crashlanding 07-31-2006, 09:28 PM It's SO HARD, I went with Greene. :dunno:
thefiestygoat 07-31-2006, 10:05 PM I went with Tallackson. I think he will fit nicely on any line in the future with NJ.
Hendler2 07-31-2006, 10:09 PM I went with Corrente.
Jonathan. 07-31-2006, 10:35 PM Greene.
From watching him in college, he has ALL the makings of a big-league defenseman.
I actually think there's a fairly big gap with him and MY #4 prospect on your list (Tallackson). I watched both a lot in college.

You really can't go with Tallackson's college performance though. Very few power forwards do well at the NCAA level. Meanwhile, scoring defensemen are a dime-a-dozen. Nothing against Greene. I hope he is a great defenseman for us in the near future. I just think that Tallackson's potential is untapped for the most part because he is now discovering how to use his talents and his size. I'm not saying he'll be another John Leclair, but he is a legitimate 2nd-liner and should realize that before Greene realizes his 2nd-pairing potential IMO.

Good analysis.
Brooklyndevil 08-01-2006, 09:26 AM Tallackson. He needs to play and contribute this season.
lucscaps 08-01-2006, 10:20 AM I went with Greene, I'll admit, more for the hype then for anything else. Also the fact we need a good showing from our defensive prospects. I think Corrente (from what I've heard) is more of a cross between Daneyko and Poor man's Stevens.

He woulda went a head of Eric Johnson if that were the case.
Jason MacIsaac 08-01-2006, 10:45 AM Petr Vrana, once again is versitile and can play any position. That alone puts him ahead of most of the prospects on this list. His game is suited to the new NHL. He is fast, quick and moves the puck well. Much like Briere for Buffalo.

I like Vrana, I think I have him penciled in at around #5.

The problem with Tallackson has always been his motivation. While he was always a decent player, his motivation is awful. That's undeniable if you watched him play and it's why he was criticized so much during his college career.

I don't know about his motivation at UM. I live a couple hours from Minneapolis and don't recall any FSN reports about that or anything in the Star about it either. You could be right, I just don't remember it. It wouldn't surprise me though because Lucia's system benefits smaller forwards and hard-shooting defensemen. Regardless of Tallackson's college mindset, I highly doubt that motivation is going to be a problem with him as a Devil. Again, it is a totally different game in the NHL. He'll be used in a way that benefits his strengths more so than he was in Minnesota.
